Slayer 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 BoUrque. If you're going to hate on him, at least spell his name right. Is the first 'u' actually capitalized? <g> Really though, I'm not hating on the guy. He was certainly a great player. I'm hating on the media focusing on him for 99.5% of that hockey postseason. the max 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 Well, I'm biased being a Bruins fan and all, but him raising the Cup is one of the top 5 sports markout moments for me.
fairtoflair7 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 UMMMM..... Any NYI moment from 1994-1999. The ownership, players, GM, Jerseys....Anything The Pierre Turgeon-Kirk Muller trade in 94 that killed the Isles for years and they didn't revover till 2001 The Giant-49er playoff game last year...Giants had it...Nuff said LA/Mets series in 1988- Mets were awesome, but Kirk Gibson single handedly took out the Mets with his diving catch and HR to kill the Mets hope. Mike Scoscia didn't help the cause as well. Isles/Leafs-2002- Isles were coming back in the series until Tucker and Roberts took out Jonsson and Peca in Game 5. Horrific Scene
NYU 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 (edited) Kenny Rogers walking Andruw Jones with the bases loaded in the 11th inning of Game 6 of the 1999 NL Championship series to give Atlanta the pennant and send the Mets home. Heartbreaking. Of course, the next year, we have Armando Blownitez blowing a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 9th against the Yankees in Game 1 of the World Series. Partly Timo's fault, but Benitez couldn't save any game that was worth a damn. Basically killed the Mets from that point on. Then, watching Al Leiter walk off the mound in game 5 after turning a 2-2 tie into a 4-2 Yankee lead was heartbreaking too. Mets fans could tell at that point that the dream was over, and Leiter looked really broken up and disappointed over the whole thing. Of course, there's also Benitez killing a strong Mets rush for a playoff spot in 2001. Only behind by a few games, and looking unstoppable, Benitez blew an important game against Atlanta - and the Mets wound up missing out. Let's not even mention the eternal disappointment that the 2002 season turned out to be. It sucks to be a Cubs and a Sox fan. But being a Mets fan isn't easy either... bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 I remember that walk. Going to school in NY I was not very popular during the Braves v. Mets series. The day after I would go up behind Mets fans and say: Here's the pitch by Rogers...AND HE WALKED HIM! I did that all day. Yea by the end of the day I had a lot of marks on me- but it was so worth it

Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 Not because they lost.......the Devils had a very good team......but the Wings just completely falling apart in the 1995 finals would be my worst. But in a way,it made 97 and 98 that much sweeter.
