I doubt this will mean all that much to anybody outside of Australia, but after Flying Dutchman's (I think it was Flying Dutchman? Or Czech Republic. One of those European guys at any rate) stint with Maynard Ferguson, I figured I'd post this anyway.

The ARIA Awards are a massive Music Award ceremony in Australia. John Farnham, who those from overseas may know from The Little River Band (the dark spot of his career), is getting a Lifetime Achievement Award and shall perform his biggest hit, You're The Voice. As a bagpiper, I shall play the bagpipe part of his song, along with the bagpipe part of Long Way To The Top by ACDC.

I doubt this means much to anyone, but I wanted to share it as it is quite exciting for me. Silverchair, Kylie Minogue and Baz Lurhmann should all be there, and I hope to meet one of them. I had a rehearsal today, and it is extremely exciting for me.

So, if anybody does care, feel free to discuss and inflate my ego. For those who do not know John Farnham I reccommend downloading some of his music, as it is quite awesome. And don't let The Little River Band thing turn you off.

I'm about to go now. I see that his lack of fame in the Northern Hemisphere is destroying the popularity of this thread, but I may just let everyone know how it went. This is kind of like the Grammies for Australia. I'm suprised no Australians have responded to this.
