Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted October 21, 2003 I didn't used to mind Stone Cold. In fact, I kind of liked his character. I missed out on the '98 craze but his work in 2000 and 2001 proved to me that the man is one of the best in the business. But that was then. This is now. After Austin turned paranoid in 2002, and then proceeded to beat on his own wife, the guy lost a lot of respect from me. And when he came back he was no better. He wrestled in only a handful of matches, repeated his stale act, and participated in some of the worst angles this year (Redneck Triathlon anyone?). I know Austin pops the crowd, and it looks like management feels he speaks for the fans, but he doesn't speak for me. Here's hoping Uncle Eric's team wins at S. Fuck Austin and all the stupid ass GM/Commish roles. They are useless. No one pays money to see a GM come out and talk. These roles do not draw anything, period. Is Austin entertaining? Sure he is. So is Dusty Rhodes (in a weird sort of way) That doesn't mean I want to see Dusty go over all the talent. Austin's neck is fucked and he is done. Plus, I don't want to see him face Jericho anyway. The last match they had at No Way Out 2002 was a * star match and sucked the meat missle because Austin wouldn't give Jericho anything in the match. It was heatless and they shouldn't wrestle again. Yes, Michaels injury is different, but at one time it was said he would never be able to get back into the ring and if he did it could paralyze him from the waste down. I mean, sure, he hammers Christian and I couldn't give a shit, because Christian has been worthless forever, but some of the guys Austin beats up get damaged by it. It's not as if Austin being on Raw is preventing good matches from happening. If the choice is between Austin beating the crap out of bad wrestlers like Steiner and Test, or watching bad wrestlers like Steiner and Test have 15 minute wrestling match, I'd take Austin ANY day...
