razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 The format of the dunk contest is all wrong. I wish the contest would go back to the 1 dunk per round with one redo. When they went to the 30 sec rule the contest went to shit.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted January 24, 2004 Portland should just give up and bring in every misfit they can find in the league. Get back Bonzi Wells, bring Lamar Odom in, i'm sure Stoudamire can smuggle him some weed wrapped in tin foil to convince him. Ricky Davis' selfish play would fit right in. Get Shawn Kemp and his 800 kids back on the roster. Dennis Rodman wants to play again? SIGN HIM UP! There already fucked, if they're going down they might as well go down in entertaining fashion. One of the sports radio hosts out here said something like, "Does Portland just have an alarm that goes off? 'HEY, SOMEBODY JUST SLEPT THROUGH PRACTICE! LET'S TRADE FOR HIM!" Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 24, 2004 Ricky Davis has actually been averaging a good amount of assists since joining the Celts. He had a beautiful pass to Michael Stewart last night.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 The Cs have been looking pretty damn good the past two games, mind you it was against the Heat and Wizards but they didn't lose their cool when those crappy teams were trying to rally. If Ricky Davis keeps on putting up 14 or 15 points a night and Blount keeps putting up Double-Doubles I think the Cs should get the #8 seed in the East easy. Off topic but where's Shawn Kemp? I heard he signed with the Nuggets but I haven't seen him since and he isn't listed. Even though he's a broken down fat fuck, he still had good enough stats to get him a spot on the bench on most teams (About 7 points, 6 rebounds a game)
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 He never actually signed with Denver, they were just talking with him.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 24, 2004 Off topic but where's Shawn Kemp? I'm sure some Police Officers out there are asking the same thing right about now.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 So are some officials at the Department of Human Services. Big Daddy Kemp isn't supporting is 127 illegitamate children.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted January 25, 2004 The Reign Man is probably stuffing his face at some Fatburger joint. It's a shame too! He used to be soooooo freaking awesome. I can't believe everyone is only talking about what a surprising year it has been for teams like Denver, Memphis and Milwaukee. What everyone should be talking about is the surging Clips. Last year they only won 27 games but they are already at 18 this season with the possibility of number 19 tonight at Seattle.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 I would rather make comments of how bad the Lakers are right now than say anything good about the Clippers.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted January 25, 2004 The Nuggets, Memphis and Milwauke are looking at the playoffs. The Clippers just get to draft later in the lottery this year. So much for Glen Rice making any form of difference either, although he did account for one win earlier in the season via buzzer beater. But yes, continue mocking the Lakers and Gary Payton's "Why me?" face he has at the end of every blowout.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 Gary Payton "I did not sign up for this" is one of my favorite quotes. The only thing good about the Lakers now is that George, Rush, Medvendko are developing well.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 Dallas looks to have gotten their act together. 7 straight wins. That should be a nice 3 way race for the Midwest.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 I think Minnesota will get it. They've been the most consistent of the three teams, it seems to me.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted January 25, 2004 Gonna be a good day, Dallas vs Kings. I always get somewhat excited for that match up just because they will tell defense to go fuck itself and procede to hurl more 3 pointers in the first half than most teams get off in the first month of the season. razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 I predict 155-153 in triple overtime game.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 The Clippers looked better on paper than Milwauke or Denver (I knew this would be the year the Griz get good). They got the most underrated player in the game and a few "future stars" (Don't they say that about the Clips roster every year). Besides they're still a few games under .500. I seriously don't think they'll even graze contending for the #8 spot in the West. I think the most surprising team this year (Even though they're losing steam) is the Utah Jazz. Absolutely no one would have thought they would have won 20 games by this point. Jerry Sloan now has to go up there has one of the best NBA coaches of all time. Fun fact: If the playoffs ended today the #8 seed in the East would go to the Philadelphia 76ers who are 6 games under .
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted January 25, 2004 I predict 155-153 in triple overtime game. Like they'd need 3 overtimes to get there!
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 The Celtics got crushed by the Nets 110-91. Celtics just can't beat the Nets. THEY JUST CAN'T. I'm so glad YES bought the exclusive rights for that game, so I couldn't see it. Celtics Vs Nets is almost turning into a poor man's basketball version of Yankees Vs Red Sox around here, the Nets are the only sports team I truly hate besides the Yankees (Albeit the Nets are a very distant 2nd on that list). Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2004 Fun fact: If the playoffs ended today the #8 seed in the East would go to the Philadelphia 76ers who are 6 games under .500 The #8 seed in the West would be Denver at 6 games above .500. Good enough for 3rd in the East.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2004 If there's a Bucks fan on this board, can they please explain to me what the fuck they're doing with the fourth best record in the East?
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Desmond Mason, TJ Ford, Michael Redd are making a run for the playoffs.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 No superstars. No egos. The Bucks come to play every night, and that's good enough in the East.

lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Terry Porter and Jeff Bedzelik should be getting votes for Coach of the Year along with Hubie Brown and Jerry Sloan
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 I definitely have to go with Porter right now. The Bucks were predicted by a lot of people to have the worst record in the East. But they'll probably make the playoffs the way things look right now.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Rosters for the Rookie Challenge: Rookies: Carmelo Anthony Chris Bosh Udonis Haslem LeBron James Jarvis Hayes Kirk Hinrich Josh Howard Chris Kaman Dwayne Wade Sophomores: Carlos Boozer Mike Dunleavy Manu Ginobili Marko Jaric Ronald Murray Nene Tayshaun Prince Amare Stoudemire Yao Ming This, of course, is assuming that Yao, James and Boozer don't make their actual All-Star squads. Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Can't say as I blame the Celts coach for doing what he did. The phone call notifying him about the Walker for Lafrentz trade shoulda been a pretty fuckin bg warning sign that it was time to get the hell out of dodge frankly. For whatever reason, I usually find the Rookies vs Sophmore game more entertaining than the actual all star game and it's probably because few of them have jump shots and spend about 48 minutes trying to hit long 3's or dunk on one another. Gert T 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Who's bouncing the ball off of Boozer's face this year? And isn't ironic, the man who may put the Duke curse to rest, probably was drafted lower than most Dukies?
