The OaO 2003-2004 NBA Season Thread!

Jason Richardson... damn! This kid is amazing. Made that through the legs off the backboard dunk look so effortless. Its a shame how he missed the other amazing dunks. They need to change the rules of the slam dunk competition and give the players more attempts. The Slam Dunk Competition should never end on two missed dunks, I feel.

No it shouldn't but you just can't keep giving players chance after chance. Especially since Richardson looked like he got like 3 extra chances on his first dunk of the 2nd round.

Korver=Kuchar

Congrats to U of M alum Voshon Lenard. Even if he doesn't know who George Washington was.

Anyone else think too many events for one night? Since the Rookie game is on Friday, why not have one of the other events on the same night.

If they didn't have a commercial break every 5 mins and got rid of some of the useless segments, I don't think it would have seemed as long as it did. But, I do this that the game with one legend, one NBA player and one WNBA player was pretty dull.

They should really get rid of that skills competition with the current NBA player, WNBA player and NBA legend....it's really just there. The skills competition has got potential though.

The New York Knicks have completed a three-way trade involving the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks, ESPN's Stephen Smith reports.

Atlanta center Nazr Mohammed and Bucks forward Tim Thomas will go to New York and the Knicks will send Keith Van Horn to Milwaukee. Also, New York's Michael Doleac and Bucks center Joel Przybilla will head to Atlanta as part of the deal.

The deal is expected to be announced later Sunday.

With the two deals, Thomas continues to sever ties with the Scott Layden regime. Layden acquired Van Horn in August in a controversial trade for Latrell Sprewell. Doleac was signed last year as a free agent.

So what team do you think grabs Van Horn next?

I bet his next stop is Golden State

Still attempting to fuck up the team chemistry so late into the season...

Why didn't Isiah just ship Keith Van Horn and another player to Atlanta for Rasheed Wallace ? I'm 100% sure he'll be in a Knick Uniform next year. Better sooner than later...

How about this radical realignment of the NBA

National Conference

East- Atlanta, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington

Central- Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Milwaukee, Phoenix

West- Golden State, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland, Sacramento, Seattle

American Conference

East - Charlotte, Miami, New Jersey, Orlando, Toronto

Central - Cleveland, Indiana, Memphis, Minnesota, New Orleans

West - Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio, Utah

I'm betting Utah gets Van Horn next. They need some names on that team (Despite hovering around .500) and the two stars on their team are both white AND Keith Van Horn went to Utah.

Yeah, but their two white stars are good ;).

I have nothing against KVH, but I don't want to see him in a Jazz uniform. I like the team too much for that.

yeah..

doesn't really do much for the East though.

I'd also cut down on the two-month long playoffs in the NBA. Do they really need 16 out of 30 teams in the playoffs?

I like it. I'm just a mark for the playoffs.

Tim Thomas > Keith Van Horn

Since my link doesn't want to work:

KVH: 16.4 pts, 7.3 reb, 1.8 ast, 1.11 stl, .38 blk, .445 FG%, .819 FT%, .373 3pt%

Thomas: 14.1 pts, 4.9 reb, 2.1 ast, .95 stl, .36 blk, .443 FG%, .762 FT%, .362 3pt%

I don't think this was a talent-based trade anyway, the Knicks are just trying to clear more money for Sheed next season.

Even though KVH is better statwise, I think that the Knicks wanted Thomas was because he's more athletic. Either that or they can sell the same merch they do for Kurt for him.

Greg Anthony talks like a football announcer. You know how football people say "football" all the time: "He's a great football player," "We needed this football game," "Give that man the football and let him take this football team on his back." That's Greg Anthony. He always says "basketball": "This basketball team needs to get a center," "Jamaal Magloire isn't a very talented basketball player," "As a basketball team, the Spurs are disjointed."

Although it was a weak contest, I'm glad a Pacer (F. Jones) took the Dunk crown.

And do you remember LeBron's first game? Jim Gray was in Complete and Total Tool form that night.

AK-47 and Carlos Arroyo aren't "White", Sir...

Also, what would being "White" have anything to do with it ?

And yes, I can see Keith Van Horn in a Boston Celtics Uniform.

For some reason if the Vin Baker thing isn't allowed to go through the Knicks want to trade for him. If that's true I'd make them take Walter McCarty and Michael Stewart then grab Allan Houston. Let Houston rest his knees for the rest of the year and come back next year fresh.

PG Banks

SG Pierce

C LaFrentz

SF Houston

PF Okafor (hopes and prays)

bench - Jiri Welsch, Brandon Hunter, Kendrik Perkins, Mike James
