Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted October 24, 2003 Damn, I just got home a little over half an hour ago and I quickly tuned in to TNT to see the new and improved Clippers outplay, outhustle and outshine and Lakers. Quentin Richardson looks like the Q from 2 years ago , scoring 10 points in the 3rd quarter and taking the ball strong to the hole. Bobby Simmons looks sharp and I am pleased at the overall effort of the team. They are running and gunning and the old Lakers cannot contain them. Karl "Watch his Elbows" Malone had to resort to elbowing Maggette (who's scored 21 points the first half) and knockinghim out of the game. If this team stays healthy, the sky is the LIMIT! Damn, I'm glad the Clipper season is starting again.

Guest Flyboy Report post Posted October 24, 2003 Did the season start already?... I'm pretty sure it's still preseason unless I'm mistaken. And, the New York Giants were looking GOOD in the offseason as well... *ahem*

Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted October 24, 2003 The last 2 games of the pre-season are often an indication of how the team will perform in the upcoming season. The Lakers are playing all their real players including Shaq who has played most of the 2nd half. Kobe was just inserted back into the game with 4 minutes to play. the Clips are no longer playing the likes of Quinton Ross, Marcus Hatten or Josh Moore. It's go time and the Clips are looking GOOD! Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2003 Yeah, good game by the Clips. I know it's only the pre-season but it was great to see them win because it was against the Faker and it felt as both teams were actually trying to win the game. Everybody played well. Kaman is going to be something else and Simmons has been the surprise of the pre-season for the team. I have had a good feeling about this team since the beginning and I think they will suprise alot of people. As long as Q, Brand and Magette do their thing and the rest of the team plays their roles, there is no reason they shouldn't compete for a playoff spot. Chris Kaman refused to be bulied by Shaq and he came off with a great game considering its only his 2nd game of the pre-season. He had 9 points and 9 rebounds along with a plethora of nice dishes to his teammates after drawing the defender in. The Lakers played all of their hired guns and they even inserted Karl and Payton back in after Kobe came in the 4th. This by no means is a sign that they will win the title, but the Clips have shown the promise that this successful offseason can bring for the upcoming year. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2003 The Clips have potential. The problem with potential is it means you haven't done shit yet. I do like what I saw in Bobby Simmons. If he hits a protein shake or two, he could turn out very nicely. I like Eddie House coming off the bench for the Clips. That guy is a gunner. Kaman showed some good stuff as well. He needs to get a dietician. If he sheds some of that bodyfat and gets some guns, he could be hell to deal with someday.
Shanghai Kid 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2003 I watched Bobby Simmons in DC last year and with Stack out I wish we could of kept him. He's just the perfect roleplayer, he does all the little things, hustles for boards, makes cuts, plays rough defense, a good guy to be the glue of a team. And he torched Kobe on two plays last night. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2003 And remember, the Lakers really don't start playing until the second half of the season, so beating them in the pre-season doesn't seem to be that big an accomplishment...
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2003 If I'm not mistaken, Memphis, Miami and Utah have the best records in the preseason. I don't think I have to say more.

Guest ErekT2k3 Report post Posted October 24, 2003 Preseason only. Don't get me wrong though, Clippers look good, but its only preseason. Both teams look good but I like the Lakers more. They're becoming more of a transition team, really brings back the Showtime memories. Did anyone else see how as soon as a turnover was forced, GP was handling the ball and Kobe and Malone were already filling in the lanes... ...only to have the referee bring it back? I loved that segment.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted October 25, 2003 The refs were already in their "pro-Laker/ClipperHater" mid-season form. Those bastards had the audacity to call an offensive foul on Marko jaric with 37 seconds left and the Clips up by 6. What's worst is that the ball had already been in Eddie House's hands and he was dribbling up the floor. GP had a variation of the Crippler Crossface on Jaric and as they were running up the floor, Marko was called for the fucking offensive foul. Kobe double dribbled and was not called for it! But then again, maybe the refs felt bad for his child molesting, rapist-ass...allegedly.
Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Another great game for the Clippers tonight. They were down by 7 with 30 seconds to play and came back to tie the game and win in overtime. House and Simmons are freakin awesome Simmons had 25 points and 14 rebounds House had 23 points and 5 assists plus he hit the 3 pointer to tie the game with a second to play.
