MORE WWE news from the Torch!!

Recommended Posts

Got the Torch off a wrestling message board from the one who got it in the mail. Enjoy.

Hey it's more news!

MORE NEWS:

- Everybody hates Zach Gowen. The wrestlers who used to defend him don't anymore. People say his ego grew out of control after being on TV with Vince and Hogan. He was supposed to go to Louisville recently for some practice sessions, but he no-showed without giving any reason and he was reprimanded for it. He doesn't seem to think he needs to get any better, and that plus his attitude has led to most of the locker room shunning him.

The finish of his PPV match with Matt Hardy wasn't widely known beforehand, so when wrestlers saw him win they were like "noooooo". But the win wasn't a vote of confidence in Zach by management. The loss for Matt is being called a vital part of a storyline that's starting for him, but people don't see it leading to any increased push for Zach.

There's already talk that they won't even renew Zach's contract when it runs out, since it's clear that he's not dedicated to becoming a better wrestler, he's got a big ego problem, and he's been a disappointment in terms of crowd support.

- Almost everybody hates Shaniqua. She'd earned a rep in OVW for kissing up to wrestlers she knew from TV, but showing no respect to people she wasn't familiar with. Now that she's gotten a push, it's gone straight to her head and she just thinks she's one big cup of hot sexy mocha.

- Not everyone but some people hate Randy Orton. Well, they don't hate him. But they don't like him. They think he's has this insincere humble attitude, like he acts nice because he knows he's supposed to since he hasn't been around long. There have been several fan reports of Orton doing things like shunning autograph seeking fans outside shows, which could just be Randy being old school and not breaking kayfabe, but most heels these days will break character to be nice to the ticket buyers. The people who don't trust Randy suspect that he's one big push away from being a major headache.

- The Smackdown wrestlers are all "hey is it me or are these McMahons on TV too much?" One wrestler said the locker room morale has taken a hit cause wrestlers don't understand why they should sell for an old man. Who's is Vince beating up that has to sell for him? The guy also hates Shane too, natch. Other wrestlers rolled their eyes at the long Stephanie interview, and how dudes like Taker and Matt Hardy had to talk about the Vince/Steph match during their promos.

- The big rumor in the Smackdown locker room over the PPV weekend was that Heyman was coming in to replace Stephanie as the GM. Hey they were right. Part of the rumor also said that Heyman was coming back to the creative team, but there's no indication of that being true yet. Stephanie is expected back in a month or so, so what will happen with Heyman as GM remains to be seen.

- Triple H's groin is still bad and he tweaked it during his return to house shows last weekend. But he's okay. Mark Henry needs an MRI on his shoulder. Rodney Mack needs knee surgery and will be out a few months. Chris Nowinski may have to retire because of his concussion syndrome.

- Big Show's improvement this year has gotten him back the respect of the boyz who thought he was a fat lazy bum. Now he's just a fat bum.

- Nick Patrick and Mike Chioda switched rosters, with Nick going to Smackdown. The official story was that Nick is the second-most experienced referee, and the top referee on each roster is in charge of stuff like assigning refs to matches. So they wanted Nick to do that on Smackdown, plus they wanted a "senior official" for angles and stuff.

This is all true, oh but the REAL reason for the move was actually that some kind of issue developed between Mike Chioda and Brian Hebner, and the company decided to separate them from traveling on the road with the same crew. Then for the previously mentioned reasons, they decided to bring over Nick Patrick and make the trade.

- People say Ultimo Dragon is handling his lack of push as well as could be expected.

- Brock and Kurt get along real well, but it seems to be more of a business friendship than them being best buddies. Brock is still rambunctious and Angle is a total company pro who hangs out with Vince most of the time these days.

- At the October 6th house show, Matt Hardy (w/Shannon Moore) was to have a match against Sean O'Haire. The match kept getting pushed back in the show because O'Haire hadn't shown up yet, and then it was canceled once it was time for the main event. The agents were under the impression that Sean was on his way to the building, but he wasn't. O'Haire said he didn't know he'd been booked for the show, even though the card and advertising and stuff had his name on it.

- Friends of the A-Train say that the A-Train is frustrated about being told so many different things from so many different people. He hears so much about what he should do that he second-guesses everything he does, and he knows he's getting good opportunities while people under him would love to have his spot.

- Nobody in WWE seems to care at all about Hogan's deal with TNA. People say Vince has no interest in using Hogan at WM20 as of today, but once the show gets closer you never know.

TNA NEWZ:

- The Nov. 30th PPV is off due to Hogan's "knee injury". That's in quotes to suggest that it is not legitimate. The two schools of thought are that the knee injury is a total lie, or that Hogan does need surgery but could have put it off until well past the PPV. Having the surgery now lets him save face by delaying the PPV that almost surely would have been a failure with the last second nature of it.

With the second theory, you gotta wonder if TNA may be involved in the chicanery, since they would be burned by a huge failure just as bad as Hogan would. The delay also gives them time to obtain a license to promote in Vegas, which they wanted to do, although Nashville and Tampa are still on the table. Most sources see the rescheduled PPV happening in January.

Of course there's always a chance that Hogan really does need the surgery now. But if Hogan thought for a second that this TNA PPV would be a success, he'd surely go through with it regardless of how much his knee hurt.

- Ron Killings is not at all happy about his push, nor is AJ Styles.

- Kid Kash and Abyss had a little shouting match after their wrestling match. Kash complained to TNA officials that Abyss worked rough, and Abyss took exception and confronted Kash in the shower area. A wrestler then did an impression of the routine that Kash apparently does when he gets mad, which is a lot. Dutch Mantell has already talked to Kash about his awful reputation.

- There's lots of rumors that Jimmy Hart has been talking with Jeff about joining forces. The Jarretts have an existing product, and Jimmy has some connections to possible TV deals. Dave Penzer was working backstage at last week's show, which people took as a sign that Jimmy is more involved than ever with TNA. Cause Penzer is his boy.

- Danny Doring was dating Francine for a while. But they broke up. How sad.

- They had promoted an interview with Roddy Piper, but on the show they had the red-shirt security faction destroy the Piper tape before it could air. People say that Piper's interview was so incoherent that Jeremy Borash couldn't get any quality footage out of it, so they did the angle with the tape being broken.

- Wrestlers say that Goldylocks has either moved to Nashville, or is doing work in the area for a while, so the company gave her another chance since they don't have to pay to fly her in anymore. Nobody was happy to see her come back cause she's a huge pain in the ass.

- AMW got more locker room heat after "boo-boo facing" once they found out a finish to a match last week. This time it wasn't even their own match, they were boo-booing over Doring and Roadkill going over Simon and Swinger, even though it was AMW's interference that would lead to the win. One wrestler said that nothing gets you heat with veterans like boo-boo facing.

MLW NEWS:

- They canceled an upcoming show that was gonna be a TV taping. The owner is like "no big deal, ticket sales were soft, get your refund at the local box office". But other sources tell the Torch that MLW will probably be suspending operations until they can find new financial backers.

ON TOPIC WITH JASON POWELL:

WWE should do like baseball and have like "legends day" and "kids eat for free" type things for house shows.

TORCH TALK WITH RAVEN:

He goes on about his days languishing on Heat. Pat Patterson didn't "get" him, but Pat liked him as a worker. So Raven compromised by wrestling in normal tights instead of a skirt, but it was too late by then. He talks about more conversations he had with Vince, and how he pitched Vince his big "Seven" storyline idea and Vince liked it and wanted to do it. But it didn't get going right away, and Raven waited 4 months instead of 2 weeks to remind Vince about it, and by then Vince had cooled off.

bye

Poor Raven. Kind of a stupid move on his part though. He should of reminded Vince about it if he liked it. Oh well.

I really like Jason Powells idea. That would increase house show revunue alot.

Well you got the admitt with all the reports about how wrestlers bitch about newcomers, (IE: If someone is real shy and doesn't talk much you hear reports about how wrestlers think he's better then them or if a wrestler is to out going he is a problem or something like that.) it seems that the WWE locker room is more like high school.

At least they had a REASON to hate Gowen. They didn't even give Orton THAT.

Gowan?...has a raging ego?....A one legged kid, who suffered through cancer, is acting like he's the shit around the back? A kid who's based his life around the idea that there's always somewhere to go, feels he's as good of a wrestler as he can get?

Yeah, sounds believable to me.....

Know what I'm thinkin?

They should team Bob Holly up with Zach Gowen.

1. Zach needs to be in a tag team. As a singles competitor it just isn't believable for him to win, but in a Tag it's not just him. He also doesn't have to take all that wear-and-tear on his own. Plus he can do all of his spots and not seem so inept.

2. Bob Holly needs a tag team. Holly is a pretty basic wrestler with a nice dropkick. That doesn't make for an exciting performance. But under the tag team formula, with Zach as the Morton of the group, that blandness doesn't seem so bland.

3. It helps both characters. Bob Holly is TUFF, Zach Gowen is 'tough'. Bob Holly kicks ass and takes names and can take a beating and dish it out. Zach Gowen is a survivor. Similar, yet different, character traits. They are a good odd couple. Bob will initially hate teaming with Zach, cause he's a cripple. Bob will want to fight all the tag matches on his own, cause Zach's a cripple. After a while Holly can warm up to Zach, and Zach can toughen up. There is an actual meaning to this team. They can grow and evolve to where Zach earns Holly's respect.

4. Both of them need storylines. After Holly gets beaten by Brock he's in limbo with Zach. The Tag division could always use more teams and they don't have an unlikely duo (well, 2cool, but they both like to ~dance~).

I think they should dress up the Bashams like astronauts and call them "The Moonrakers" also they should change Shaniqua's name to Dr. Goodhead.

I don't have any reasons for this though.

Spiffy idea, Rudo-man, even if I hate Holly and don't care for Zach.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

*Sniff* Maybe he could announce?

To be serious, I'm surprised at the lack of injuries/retirements associated with post-concussion syndrome in professional wrestling. It's a BIG part of professional football, and I'm sure there's a few more hazards in being a wrestler (i.e. chairs and turnbuckles).

I'm starting to like Randy Orton. Shaniqua and Gowen are just wastes of time.

The Orton shunning people story doesn't make much sense to me.

When I met Orton he was one of those guys that signed for everyone and made sure everyone who wanted something signed got it

NOOOOOOOOO!!!

This sucks. He busts his ass in the independents after T.E., comes in with a good character, decent wrestling for a guy of his experience, and natural ability on the mic, and already his career may be cut short?

Well, I hope maybe he can return in a non-wrestling role if this is true.

I agree that the way things are stated in this report are very juvenile. At least they could try to fake some professionalism.

Same here. When I went to RAW, Orton signed more autographs than anyone but Al Snow, and also jumped on top of a car and posed for pictures.

Well, you could look at it that way, but take a look at the other guys on the Raw roster. Everyone either...

1) Sucks.

2) Has seen his best days long ago.

3) Is an OVW-produced (i.e. subpar) worker.

4) Lacks something major to deserve a push in the eyes of the guys in charge (for example, Jericho and his lack of size).

Orton just happens to be 3, and is getting pushed anyway. It's not his fault and he shouldn't be hated for it.
