Did anyone else mark out for Tony coming back?

Hell Yeah!

I bit. I was like "You've got to be fucking kidding me."

But it would've made for a very interesting turn in the series...

Well why the hell did he have to tie up Kim, for kicks?

Well why the hell did he have to tie up Kim, for kicks?

Kim was about to mess up their plan.

He tied up Kim for the same reason that he just didn't tell Chappelle what was really going on. He couldn't let anyone else know what was up or else it would compromise the plan to get Jack back undercover.

The two big questions that are left unanswered for at least now are:

1.) Why is Jack being put back undercover? The Salazars must be up to something huge for Jack to go to all this trouble to get back undercover. The reason can't be "he is looking for the virus" because he obviously had to be planning to go undercover since before the virus was found because Gael had to extablish his cover at least a good bit ahead of time. Unless of course, Gael always had the cover in order to keep CTU plugged into what the Salazars were doing.

2.) What was the original plan for Jack to get back undercover (if there was one)? It seems a little far fetched that the plan all along was for Jack to but Ramon out of prison in order to re-establish his cover.

According to the preview, something big happens tonight.

Predictions???

I'm going with the theory that Gael is really a good guy going undercover for Jack.  I don't know who came up with that idea, but I think I read it here.

Wow, that was a good guess.

Damn, that was a fuckin good episode.

Twists left and right, I was on the edge of my seat for the last 15 minutes.

I wish I could take credit for it. I'm pretty sure someone from here came up with that scenerio. Either that or on the Fox message board.

Anyway, I totally thought Jack was gonna turn out to be the major villian. No it wouldn't make much sense, but it would have been cool as hell. Actually, it would have been cooler if they made us think he was bad for a few weeks before revealing the secret plan. I mean, they could have made it more believable by waiting a few hours and then have Tony explain the Gael situation (I mean, for christ's sake, are we supposed to believe that a man who was shot in the neck four hours ago, is under major anethsia, is probably on tons of pain killers, and was shot in the freaking neck four hours ago is able to run to CTU in less then five minutes to reveal the secret plan?). But I have faith in the 24 writers. Tonights episode had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Best episode of the season!

That is an interesting question. Jack was working undercover for the past year and a half right? They said that Gael came to CTU from the CIA two years ago. I bet they were working together from the start. Gael was probably the link between Jack and CTU, which would have been necessary since Jack couldn't have been calling up Tony all the time and letting him know what was going on.

2.)  What was the original plan for Jack to get back undercover (if there was one)?  It seems a little far fetched that the plan all along was for Jack to but Ramon out of prison in order to re-establish his cover.

There must be some bigger plan that Jack knows about. It wouldn't make sense for a number of reasons. First of all, if Gael was a good guy the entire time, then he probably could have just informed CTU of the whereabouts of the Salazars. My theory is this: They said early on that the Salazars were not terrorists, although they have terrorist ties. Jack probably is aware that something big is going to go down and he is going to use the Salazars to lead him to the bigger terrorist group.

I had more to this theory, but the more I think about it, the more I begin to contradict myself due to tonights episode. Everything is very confusing right now. No one has mentioned the possibility of Chase being in on the plan. Since he is Jack's partner, and knew about his addiction, I have a feeling he knows about it. That is why he didn't listen to Chapelle and why he appeared to be going against orders in the past few episodes.

So much stuff going on, I can't wait for next week...

Definitely the best swerve of the season. I was starting to lose faith in this season after everything seemed to be winding down, but damn, the swerve at the end has picked everything right back up.

What I don't get is this...if Gael was in on the plan, why hold people at gun point as he was trying to run? He could have just given up while still putting in a bit of a fight.

Well, I was thinking about that, and I came to the conclunsion that, he wanted to get out. If Gael would have actually escaped, then he would not have to deal with the interogation at all, therefore not having to compromise the mission AT ALL. Also, think what may have happened if Tony wasn't released from the Hospitol, Gael would have ended TOTALLY fucked up from the drugs and anything could have happened.

I agree, best episode so far this season.

Oh, and what was the preview for next week? I didn't catch it.

And I must admit, it was better than usual. I haven't really gotten into it this season, although I watched (and loved) all of Season 1 and 2.

This season might not be as intense or exciting as season 1 or 2

But it's the season that makes you think the most, Specially with the story taking 3 years after the end of season 2 which means anything could have happened that we don't know about which all in all makes this the most interesting season of them all

I know the palmer storyline is boring but I have a question:

What does everyone thinks gonna go down between Anne and her Ex-Husband next week?

I just hope we don't have a HUGE cliffhanger next week mainly because we will have to wait 3 weeks for the next episode with the holidays coming.

I just watched the preview for next week's episode. If you listen to Tony he says, "If Chase blows Jack's cover, we might lose the virus". The virus is I guess still the real threat. I wonder how Palmer factors into this. So many questions!!!

Dang that was a hot episode...This is the best season by far. I can't believe some of you actually tolerated Season 2... I hated it, and only watched it out of curiosity of how it would get resolved. Season 1 will always rock, I really felt like that season took me on a journey, Season 2 seemed to have a lot more "flash, bang, shock" stuff in it, not to mention the ridiculous scenes with Kim, but this season is awesome.

PS, The chicks in the plane were NICE.

My theory is that the same people that are controlling the Salazars are controlling the ex-husband and it's gonna be another conspiracy to bring down Palmer!

They've got to tie it in, and I'm confident they will.

cot damn...

That's the first time I've marked out jumping on the couch yelling "Holy fuck!" for anything I have seen on the tv this year.

I admit I was wondering how Jack would get out, and the boy sure faked an awesome seizure.

Jack said he would have 50 million and that's his reason. 50 million from doing what? Methinks this:

Sometime ago CTU discovered a terrorist plot to introduce this corona virus. Salazar got the virus through someone working with CTU and the whole thing is a set to use Salazar's ties to unveil who the terrorists are.

Wonder who lives next episode...Ann or her husband?

Great episode.....did not see that coming at all. Before they went back to CTU I thought Hector infected Jack with the virus when they did they mega close-up of his hand when he hugged Jack. Looked like he had something on his hand.
