I feel like having that be his motivation was a bit of a mistake. I mean, the guy's unrepentantly evil, moustache-twirling levels of sadism and what. Nothing justifies the sort of stuff he's been pulling, and it just makes the show feel like it's trying to be all edgy and stuff with the whole Iraq/Bush/politics situation. It's pretty cheesy and I'd rather they just have him be pissed at getting left behind by America. You shot Ryan Chappelle in the head - that's edgy enough.
