Guest TDinDC1112 Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I just finished listening to the Get in The Ring radio show from yesterday. They had Konnan and Rick Steiner on. At the end of the show, Steiner asked Konnan if he was going to be at TNA on Wednesday. Konnan said yeah, and said something like, are you going to be there? Steiner said, yeah, they want me to come in, and then he didn't really say anything more and the show ended about 10 seconds later. There's no other reason to bring him in other than to face Jarrett - but I don't think J. Hart ever managed him. He didn't sound like he had decided he'd come in or anything, but I think it's a definite possibility.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 WOW, that would suck ass....
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I hope not, but then they've enver really used Steiner outside of battle royals so maybe they want him for something else.
Guest TDinDC1112 Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I hope not too, it's just that I can't think of any other reason why he'd be on the show.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Maybe he's checking out Scotts option for when his contract expires
The Thread Killer Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Okay, I am the biggest TNA mark in this folder outside of syxx2001, but if the surprise turns out to be Rick Steiner, I will be officially not impressed.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Look at the bright side...you'd get to see him stiff Jeff Jarrett and no sell his offense.
bob_barron Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Damnit bps- Why do you have to make me think bringing in Rick is a good idea?
The Ghost of bps21 Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Well...this was doomed to be bad as soon as they decided to do it. I'm just trying to find the positive. Maybe Steiner will be in a REAL BAD mood!
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Maybe Steiner will be in the mood to make an positive impression on the WWE. I'd love to see the Steiners together in one final match.
Michrome Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 The only acceptable option is Terry Funk. Of course, they could lie and bring in a big name that Hart never managed and just say he did. Who would know? Who would care?
Guest Nanks Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Well...this was doomed to be bad as soon as they decided to do it. I'm just trying to find the positive. Maybe Steiner will be in a REAL BAD mood! Couldn't be more on the mark with that bps. There is not a single person they could possibly bring in that would make everyone happy. If it was a useless lump like Earthquake everyone's gonna bitch about that, if it's someone who is a decent worker like ........................... then everyone's gonna bitch because he's cannon fodder for JJJ. I do believe that's called a Catch 22.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 BOO! Rick Steiner sucks! And He ruined my prediction he wouldn't be around until week 84 LOL. Plus Jimmy Hart never managed him! Maybe he's going to be a surprise for another match. he didn't say he was going to be Jarrett's opponent.
Guest TDinDC1112 Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 The fact that Steiner kind of leaked it out early might cause them to change their mind. But, if it his him, let's look at it like this: Every time he has appeared, the crowd there has popped for him bigger than just about anyone else (I know that's not really a big deal, but it's something). Also, eventhough we know his workrate sucks and he's over-the-hill, he is a name, he's big, and is viewed by the average fan as a real legit tough guy (which he is by the way anyway). Bringing him in and having Jarrett go over him makes sense for business, as I think TNA should have been bringing in people for 1-time spots to have their champions go over on a regular basis. Anyway, they backed themselves into a corner with this whole it has to be someone Jimmy Hart has managed, so this isn't that bad when the alternatives are discussed, although he never managed Steiner in the first place.
Michrome Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 Man, is the rationalizing of bringing Rick Steiner starting already? I'm just going to hope that this is just a red herring.
Sideburnious Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 Lol ah man Rick Steiner back again..........Crap
nl5xsk1 Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Is Koko B. Ware still alive? I'd mark out for him more than I would for Steiner.
2GOLD Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 The surprise should be Macho Man.... Why? I don't know, but it's better than Rick Steiner.
