Peter Gammons is reporting that A's second baseman Mark Ellis now out for the year. The MRI results aren't out till tommorrow so this could be Gammons doing his usual bullshit speculation. I pray Esteban German or Marco Scutaro get off to a good start to keep Frank Menechino out of the fucking line-up. He's simply the most hated player on the A's by the fans mainly for being Jason Giambi's fluffer.

OctoberBlood I am not sure how much you trust gammons but he said the two prospects the reds got for Reitsma were basically nothing, two fringe pitchers in Bong and Nelson. Of course Gammons was a big Bowden supporter so he will diss every move the reds make for a couple of years.

Haha, ah yes, Gammons. The Bowden supporter, and a Boston fan, of course he'll diss a Reitsma trade (Reitsma was once in Bostons farm). The Reds basicly got a steal. 2 young, talented starting pitchers for a middle reliever with two pitches. Reitsma has good stuff, he'll be a solid pitcher down the road, but he was too inconsistant, and he was not gonna make it as a starter. He'd get hit up by the 4th inning. He is much better in the relievers role. he throws harder, and is more dominate. But he was totally expandable, especially after the/and soon to be more arbitration cases.

The Reds and many scounts everywhere see Bubba Nelson as a future #3 starter, and Bong has always had potential to be very good, and his minor league numbers are pretty solid. Nelson's only problems is some conctrol problems. Bong, is a lefty, and will be very vaulable to this Reds team, not only this year, but in the future as well. Next year, Bong and Cluassen = 2 lefties in the rotation, which is a very good weapon to have in the central.

I stopped listening to Gammons long ago. And this is another reason why. I guess two high potenital young starters for a middle reliever is a bad move, right? Uh huh. Everyone loves Reitsma, and so do I - and everyone probally agrees that Bob Boone didn't give him a large chance in the rotation, but rightfully so. He has 2 pitches, and gives up the long ball too frequently. That does not equal a quailty starter.

But anywho, looks like everyone now knows why Junior wants out...

Guest Smell the ratings!!!

well if Gammons said that then Gammons is a dumbass. Why the hell would you trade potential starters for a setup man. Cincy wasn't gonna use him much anyway.

The Orioles Projected Starting Rotation

SOUTHPAW-MANIA RUNNIN WILD BROTHER!

Seriously, thats pretty crazy. The O's didn't have a Lefty two years ago in the rotation, last year they picked up Daal primarily because hes a lefty and this year they have 3 leftys in the rotation, which has to be a league high.

Bedard could lose his spot to Rodrigo Lopez, but I doubt it. Lopez will probably be a long relief guy out of the bullpen unless Bedard shows he can't handle being the #5th starter. And with Daal hurt for an extended period of time, I think unless Riley flat out stinks he'll be in the rotation full time. When Daal comes back he'll probably go to the bullpen where he belongs in the first place. I don't know why Ainsworth isn't the #2 guy, as I favor him more than Dubose, but I think its to throw a Lefty in between 2 right handers.

It sucks that Hairston had to get hurt. If he hadn't got hurt, Im sure he would have been traded to Oakland by now since they lost Mark Ellis.

I think Oakland is fine between Esteban German, Frank Menechino, and Marco Scutaro. Its not like Mark Ellis was an elite slugger on the team.

Cardinals (finally) got rid of Kerry Robinson, shipping him to San Diego in exchange for Brian Hunter. And the Dodgers acquired Jason Grabowski from the Athletics for cash.

The A's are denying the reports Ellis is out for the year but they are notoriously secretive about player injuries. They are going to wait another two weeks for another MRI on his shoulder.

Whatever happens, offensively it has little effect on the team as Ellis isn't much with the bat and would have been batting 9th in the order but defensively he's emerged as one of the best at his position. German is shaky with the glove, Menechino has zero range, and don't know enough about Scutaro defensively.

Milton Bradley to be traded

ESPN.com news services

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- The Cleveland Indians will trade Milton Bradley within 72 hours of Wednesday's confrontation with manager Eric Wedge, ESPN's Peter Gammons reported today.

Bradley abruptly left Cleveland's training camp Thursday, one day after he was pulled from an exhibition game for not running out a pop fly against Houston. Bradley was told quietly by Wedge that he needed to be on second base. Bradley responded, and while it was not a shouting match, he showed disrespect for his manager in front of his teammates.

General manager Mark Shapiro told Bradley that the Indians organization could not allow such behavior or such a lack of respect, according to Gammons. To his credit, Bradley moved to Cleveland this offseason and did what the club says was more community service than any other player.

Wedge had no comment when asked about Bradley's status.

Bradley's agent, Seth Levinson, said the player left with the "understanding and agreement of the front office" so the sides could weigh their options.

The Indians were counting on Bradley this year to bat cleanup and be a productive everyday player. He was having a solid 2003 season before hurting his back and missing the final six weeks.

Bradley batted .321 with a .922 OPS last season. At least four teams have expressed interest, according to Gammons, and Shapiro hopes to have a deal in place by Sunday night.

Bradley has a history of transgressions on and off the field, and this one may lead the Indians to cut ties with him. He signed a one-year $1.73 million contract in November.

Bradley didn't comment before leaving in a cab before Wednesday's game ended, but he said through the team he had a tight groin. He was pulled from a game last season for failing to run out a ball. He also angered some opponents by showboating.

Bradley had been a model citizen all spring, promising he had changed and would not be a distraction. In February, he was sentenced to three days in jail for driving away from police after being stopped for speeding.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

A centerfielder with speed who can hit the ball hard?

God, don't tell the Yankees.

I'd say send him to Pittsburgh or Texas

The Padres could really use Bradley, as their outfield defense is suspect. I think the Athletics could use him as well.

Agreed

Oakland needs some more offensive punch and I think Bradley gives it to them.

I'd want the Mets to get him but Floyd's in left and Cameron's in center. Can he play right (or will Floyd get injured again)?

Actually, never mind. The guy's high maintenance. The Mets have had enough of them already.

The A's do have Justin Duchscherer to deal since he's out of options and there simply isn't a spot for him on the opening day roster it appers. I'm sure that would interest the Indians but I don't know if I want that headcase on the A's.

In other news...damnit MY BOY~ Nick Johnson is on the DL once again.

Edit: Well what do you know, according to Fox Sports the A's are interested in Bradley along with the Dodgers, Pirates, and Rangers.

SOUTHPAW-MANIA RUNNIN WILD BROTHER!

Gotta love it! Most haven't heard of our pitchers now, but by season's end they will! I have no doubt most will deliver, my concern is longevity. The scary thing is that Dubose, Riley and Bedard are all coming off arm surgeries in the past 2 years, and certainly haven't ever pitched the amount of innings they'll be expected to pitch this season. By August, I see at least Bedard and maybe Riley being shut down, hopefully to preserve them and not because they burn out or reinjure their arms!

As much as I think Rodrigo Lopez deserved a rotation spot based on a good Spring and basically carrying our asses 2 years ago, I think this is bold move by Mazzilli. He said the best 25 would go on, no ifs ands or buts and no one looked better than Bedard. This is the type of decision Mike Hargrove would have never had the balls to make (no offense to Grover but he was way too complacent and veteran partial as nice a guy as he is). The backup catcher decision in picking Osik over Gil (although much more minor) is another good example.

Season starts this Sunday! Then I'm going to game 2 on Tuesday (Opening "Day"). I can't wait! Go O's!

I'm sure most of you have heard about former MLB pitcher Jack McDowell's off-hand comments about Prior's injuries and steroids. While it sounds like he didn't directly mean that Prior was hitting the juice, it was ignorant of him to even put the two subjects so closely together as he did.

People still take BlacK Jack seriously?
