I have a $100 gift certificate that was recently given to me, and since I'm a recent Hart fan, I want to know what CDs should I buy.

Depends on wether you want compilations or original CDs and which era you like better, since their two major eras (1976-1984,1985-1990) are like two different bands entirely

I've only heard some of the earlier stuff, because that's all they play on the radio. My favorite song from Heart is "These Dreams."

To clear up confusion

1976-1983 era radio songs: "Dreamboat Annie", "Straight On", "Barracuda", "Magic Man"

1985-1990 era radio songs: "Never", "These Dreams", "What About Love", "Alone", "Who Will You Run To?"

If you want to buy studio CDs and not compilations then you can't go wrong with the albums that have the songs Angelslayer listed: Dreamboat Annie, Heart, Bad Animals, etc.

Although, those "Essential" multi-CD comps really cover a lot of ground. As long as the comps have "Barracuda", "Crazy on You", "What About Love" (my favorite), "All I Wanna Do...", etc., then your OK. You same some cash and can buy something else in addition.

Just bought, best album I have bought in a while. The last good album I bought was a Japanese release of a Van Halen album.

These Dreams is actually a solo release by Nancy Wilson, but it's labeled as a Heart song. (Similar thing happened with a few tracks Davey Jones did by himself while with the Monkees). It came out in 1986. Her first solo ablum was released in '99, called "Live at McCabe's Guitar Shop." That might be of interest to you.

As mentioned above, get their first four or five albums as there really is only a small amount of Heart stuff that the radio stations really do play.

Another strange thing I forgot to note about the bands evolution over the years...

When the band started up, both Anne and Nancy Wilson were good eye candy... today, Nancy has aged quite well, while Anne, well, hasn't.

I noticed a few wierd coincidences:

The blond one (sorry I can't tell them apart right now), looks like a young James Hetfield.

The one with dark hair looks like a young Marck Callaway.

Right now, James Hetfield and the Undertaker look like the same person.
