The most violent main event in ROH history has been signed for 11/29 in Woburn. The hatred will erupt one more time as it will be HOMICIDE vs. STEVE CORINO in a NO ROPE BARBED WIRE MATCH!!!

Normally, ROH would never promote a no rope barbed wire match but the hatred is so extreme between Corino and Homicide that this kind of match is the only way to settle this intense blood feud.

Anyone who has seen the 8/16 "Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies" event witnessed one of the most brutal bouts in ROH history as Homicide defeated Steve Corino in a bloodbath match of the year candidate. The struggle saw Corino lose hearing in his left ear. Corino tried to get revenge by attacking Homicide on 11/1 in Elizabeth, NJ. They have fought backstage in Japan, they have maimed each other in the United States, now they will finish things on 11/29 in what could be the only no rope barbed wire match in ROH history.

Well they have a lot to live up to- I don't know if I would blow off this feud so soon but I have faith in Homicide and Corino to deliver a great match. I just hope no one gets too banged up

Of the 5 matches announced for 11.28-

Four of them should be awesome. Stryker v. Xavier could go either way.

Homicide v. Corino could be a victim of its own expectations- everyone is going to be expecting 8.16 all over again and it may fall flat.

AJ v. Joe should be awesome. The gauntlet will probably be the victim of matches being too short, while the tag title match should be good.

11.29 does sound like the better show but 11.28 is no slouch itself

I should be at 11/29. If I do go, expect another ROH On-Site Report, minus Jay this time around (he can't go! :P)

Hey Zack-

Remember that deal where you promised to fly me down to Boston for the next ROH show after I got you Screech's autograph?

You dont? Well you did...

How will Briscoes vs. Daniels/Maff be better? Joe isn't far behind Daniels in terms of work, and AJ is better than Dan Maff.

Homicide vs. Walters could be solid, too.

They can't put out a supershow every show, or a supershow wouldn't be a supershow.

I understand that every show can not be a supershow, but when the shows are basically being built together, and one show has everything, and the other has nothing important at all except maybe the FOH finals which really isnt even important, it sucks.

I think the feud has been building since October of last year, so after a year of feuding, I don't think that now's too early to blow off the feud.

And it's kinda hard to top No Rope Barbed Wire, especially in ROH's environment.

Yeah, family vacation means I miss both 11/28 and 11/29. Of course, Sandman promised to kill me if I saw the No Rope Barbed Wire match and he couldn't, so it kinda evens out.

Quick question: Why's the Mass show in Woburn? What happened to the Wakefield HS? That was a GREAT venue.

The 10/16 Baltimore, 9/6 Boston, and 6/28 Philly shows were all WEAKER than 11/28, not too mention 3/15 Boston and almost every show prior to 11/9/02.

Wah wah wah.

Tim, who went to Baltimore ROH just to make sure they would come back and it paid off, now with Cornette coming!

Wait a second.

I'm going home for Thanksgiving (Maine) around that week.

I go back to school that Sunday, the 30th.

The show is the day before.

Hmmmmmmm, odds are I won't be able to pull it off, but if I could.....

LOL @ "Normally ROH would never promote... but..."

Your point?

That is how you sell a stipulation; as something you would never see in a promotion except in a very select case. In other words, they are saying that "in a normal situation ROH would never sancation a match this violent, but the Corino/Homicide feud is so violent that an exception needs to be made in order to end the violent/personal feud." Selling a match as something that is not normal is smart because it makes it special. I thought that concept was pretty basic.

I am sure you are trying to point out that ROH promoting a hardcore match is hypocritical to their "stance", but it is not at all. Of course, you have also said before that ROH is just imitating Puro by putting on straight-forward matches with guys "imitating what they see in Japan. Then when they go closer to US promotions in terms of storylines and blowoffs, you also see to have a problem with it.

Doesn't make much sense to me.

The 1Wrestling article said it was a Mass promoter who ROH had never even heard of. Probably the same guy who was advertising CM Punk for his upcoming show after "Beating the Odds"- a show Punk had never even heard of.

Whoever it is, the guy is probably just looking to get his name out over the net.

Tim, I'm still waiting for you to walk me through Dragon/London 2/3 falls - I feel so lonely in the dark here.

Trolling is defined as the consistent posting of useless material with the intention of getting off-topic and specifically eliciting and inciting undesirable responses from users reading the thread.

1. I'm hardly consistent. I try to stay out of the Roh threads as much as possible - this one caught my interest because Corino talked about it in his column recently and how he wasn't sure he was going to do it.

2. I don't think it's useless because "ROH is a sport... not sports entertainment" yet I would classify this in the "freak show" catagory. Oh I forgot, "We're not sports entertainment... except for when we do this, this, and this... but we are not sports entertainment... that WWE is so horrible; we're real wrestling, we're a sport...

3. It's not "off topic" as it is "on" the topic of a barbedwire match in ROH, it's just not about the Corino/Homicide feud. I think both discussions can take place in here.

4. My comment was no different than ones you'd find in the WWE folder. I don't know why ROH can't be mocked in the same way...

... is that the response you were waiting for.

And OSI, here's what I would rather have them do.

Pull the match.

... then put it on again.

Then it would actually seem like they have hesitated, that they don't really want to put on the match because it's too dangerous - but they have to. "Show, don't tell".

"Tim, waiting for a certain argument to be brought forth."

*DING DING DING*

"Winner"

Give me your specific problems with the match and I will give you some answers.

After showing this match to some of the people who I believe have the best minds for wrestling analysis (matches), they still have it as their MOTY.

But do give me what you don't like about it. I will do my best to explain and if after that you still don't like it, what can I say.

Here's a Rudo post from a few months ago Tim-

Watched Dragon/London 2/3 falls again - on mute - and there is no way this is MOTY. There's a lot of smart work in it, but there's also a lot of very stupid stuff as well.

HeY! Dragon is tired! No wait! Dragon is fresh! No! Tired! No!!! FRESH!

HeY! Dragon is smart! No Wait! Dragon is so STOOOOPID~!

London's leg is hurt! Look at him SELL~! POWERBOMB! SSP!

Hey! A headlock! Going nowhere! And another headlock! Also going nowhere! HEY~! A HEADLOCK! GOING NOWHERE!

Ok, enough of that..

The multiple Desparation Pin-falls were improperly placed and paced. I don't know why Dragon was so desparate to get the pin-fall when he was in control of the match. Didn't really suit the character he was portraying. Plus it came right after Dragon was beating the shit outta London - so really, Dragon should have just continued his methodical assault, rather than playing the quick-pinfall game. Pacing was a bit of a problem throughout. They did a lot of those "I hit you, you hit me, I hit you" spots, it seemed, when ever they felt like it.

The pointless opening sequences. There's some smart stuff in them, but ultimately they are disjointed and pointless. Esp. when establishing Dragon as the "smart" wrestler who "learns" from his mistakes, and then does some incredibly stupid things after. London kept going for a headlock, which is fine if he did anything with it... but he didn't. The end spot with Dragon trying to backdrop London out of the ring would have been perfect to bring the headlock back and have Paul take AD down to the mat with a flying headlock thus setting up the finish. Of course, they didn't do that.

They over-played the top-rope-battle spot, they must have done that over half-a-dozen times, each ending with "stupid" Dragon falling to the mat. There was a spot where London and Dragon were copying eachothers moves... for whatever reason... I think they probably thought it would be "fun" to do.

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but was American Dragon playing the "cagey veteran"?? Cause I kinda got that feeling. American "4 years in the business" Dragon playing the well-travelled vet doesn't quite work for me.

Anyone know where I can get the first match between the two? The one that was praised and called anywhere from *** 3/4 to ****1/4 ??

I tried Kazaa with no luck. I don't believe it was on wrestling4life either....
