Ric Flair DVD

Recommended Posts

I figured if anything, they could've made it a 4 disc set, and I know just the matches to put on it-

Starrcade 88 vs Luger (Plus all the promos and angles leading into it, like Luger getting turfed from the Horsemen)

WrestleMania VIII vs Savage (and all the great stuff leading up to the match)

Starrcade 93 vs Vader (all the stuff with Mean Gene and Flair at his home going to the show)

Fall Brawl 95 vs Anderson (the handicap match against Vader, the pre match promos)

And of course HORSEMEN REUNION 98!

Seriously though, Did Flair have ANYTHING to do with the production of the DVD?

Did he get to omit certain things or what?

Well I wanted to go chronological but I was dying to see the special night in greensville and got hooked watching all of disc 3 first.

Can't wait till I have more time to sit down and watch 1&2 this weekend.

The new Ric Flair DVD set, WWE Ultimate Ric Flair Collection DVD, has proven to be the fastest selling in WWE history. The set's first print sold out in two days. Every copy WWE has made has been ordered by retailers which means that many retailers have had to place second and third orders. That is not very common for wrestling DVDs.

A new shipment of DVDs is expected to go out to stores next week. Until then, you may have a hard time finding them.

I know that this is a little off topic, but I REALLY mark out for M. Harry Smilac.

I finally started watching the set today. Disc 3 alone was worth the money that I paid. The Greenville Flair celebration was pretty cool.

Did anybody else notice that they imposed the WWE logo onto the Flair-Sting match? It's not really a big deal, but I thought it was kinda weird to watch a WCW match with the WWE logo plastered in the lower left-hand corner.

With the way it's selling, I wonder how long it will be untill they release a sequal.

I wonder, what would they put onit? More Flair/Sting? More Dusty? Did Flair ever feud w/ Magnum TA? What are your thoughts/opinions.

Also, who else could they do?

Well, We do know seven matches off the top of our heads that they didn't include

Luger-Starrcade 88

The Other Steamboat Match (in 89, not the 94)

Flair/Vader

Flair/Savage

Flair/Perfect

Flair/Anderson

Flair/Undertaker

If there's a sequel, I don't know if they can put out 3 more discs...I can see another 6 Hour disc with them putting those Six Matches (that's about 2 1/2 hours and have the hype for those five matches and show some Late 1990's WCW stuff with Flair having commentary on it complaining about it and chewing Bischoff and Russo about it...and Maybe some more less known WCW Saturday Night footage and have more vintage promos and shit...

Minor complaint #2: They show the buildup to Flair-Steamboat I, but they never show how Steamboat won the title.

Wasn't that match on the Triple H DVD?

Just curious-I don't own it, nor have the desire to buy it to find out.

Flair-Steamboat I = Chi-town Rumble, Steamboat wins title

Flair-Steamboat II = CoC VI, 2/3 falls

Flair-Steamboat III = Wrestle War, Flair regains belt (this was the one on Trip's DVD and it's on this one too)

The match you're referring to, is the final match of the trilogy from Wrestlewar 1989. It's also on the Flair DVD.

Flair/Steamboat I is from the Chi-Town Rumble in Chicago, Illinois.

Flair/Steamboat II (2/3 falls; Clash of the Champions VI) is on the Flair DVD.

Along with Flair / Savage from WM 8, I also would like for them to release Flair / Savage II onto the (hopefully) next Ric Flair set (the one where Flair regained the WWF Championship).

So I'm guessing Flair personally picked these matches for his set or did WWE pick them for him?

WWE had final say.

If Flair had total control, he likely would have put the savage and Vader and Arn match on before the Windham match or the rhodes match.

And to think I sat here for five minutes trying to think of who else Flair feuded with, and NONE of those came to mind.

**hangs head in shame**

in my defense, though, I AM sick today. Oh, well.

Personally, I can't wait to see what they'll do with the Mick Foley DVD.

I'd Imagine Foley will be a Three Disc as well...Maybe FOUR.

WCW-DISC ONE

ECW/EARLY MANKIND-DISC TWO

The Rise of Mick Foley and his three faces-Disc Three

Post Retirement Foley-Disc Four

I could see Foley BEGGING for that to be a easter Egg...

I wouldn't be shocked if Mr. Buy My Book doesn't also have a audio version of all three of his books recorded on the DVD as well...

I rewatched Royal Rumble 1992 tonight, it reminded me once again that it's my personal favorite match of all time.

A few Qs re: RR 1992 segment

1.) Does it have Ric Flair's short pre-RR interview with Lord Alfred Hayes?

2.) Where does the RR 1992 exactly start on the DVD? I'm assuming it starts off with Howard Finkle giving the rules along with Jack Tunney's introduction (right after Hulk Hogan's promo on the RR '92 VHS)?

No. It does have his pre-PPV promo (which is hilarious), as well as his post-match interview.
