Ric Flair DVD

I don't know. The IWA show that runs cuts in old USWA footage with Austin all the time...and someone other than WWE has released 2 Austin DVDs worth of stuff prior to his WCW time...so I'll guess WWE doesn't have it.

I was refering to Savage's run with Memphis...

I can't see that...

They were in essance the same character at all points...

the mega babyface (Austin in 98, Savage in 1992)...The Rebel Bad ass (Austin 1997 and Savage in Late 90s) the wife beater (Savage in 99...Austin in real life)...The Paranoid champ(Savage in 88/89 and Austin Summer of 01)...

One thing I noticed about this dvd is that all the matches are Flair victorys with only a few exceptions.

The matches he did lose like the Dusty match and the first Steamboat match ended up being overturned because of some controversy.

The only untainted loss is the HHH match and that's only on there for the post match skit.

This maybe explains the lack of more and better sting matches as he did the job in most of them?

Cool, that's why I put the question mark.

Can only hope it will be on the next one.

avtually he didn't win either...It was a Draw as well.

Flair/Sting I believe only had like 3 BIG TIME matches (Clash, Title Unification and Final Nitro)...They were supposed to have a big run in 1990 i think and sting got hurt so they ever REALLY had that huge match that was supposed to happen.

Seriously?

Disk 1: DDP manages Badd Company, Freebirds, sucks as a wrestler

Disk 2: DDP versus nWo/Raven/Benoit

Disk 3: Jersey Triad/WWE 'It's Me' promos

Not to mention it could show his upbringing, being a bouncer and a night club owner, meeting Kimberly, etc.

You know, all the non-wrestling shit that was talked about in his book.

Then you have his managing, wrestling, WCW, WWE, retirement, etc.

Easily three discs.

DDP's career does not warrant a 3-disc DVD set. No one outside of the dwindling die-hard wCw faithful even know or care who DDP is. To even think that DDP's career can parallel the greatness of Flair is laughable and best, and seriously deluded at worst.

Sorry for the harshness, but it needed to be said.

I agree DDP doesn't deserve his own dvd. But I don't think any of them said his career paralleled Ric Flairs. At least I hope they didn't say that. He got his own WCW Superstar Series tape, so something like that would have been ok, but a few others deserve the Flair treatment before DDP such as Bret, LOD, Piper, Savage, Steamboat.

DDP may not deserve it but some of us can dream.

Just curious,What actual matches would people put on a DDP 3 dvd set?

Three off the top of my head

DDP Vs. Curt Henning-Starcade 97' US Title Win

DDP Vs. Sting-Nitro 9/27/99

DDP Vs. Chris Benoit Vs. Raven-Uncensored 99'(?)

Didn't they also job The Big Show off to him before he left for the WWE which resulted in at least one top rope diamond cutter? My memory is fuzzy but I wouldnt mind that one too for nostalgia.

What I meant was that only a career like Flair's would warrant a 3-disc DVD set, which DDP's doesn't. Sorry if that was taken the wrong way.

Just because we want a DDP DVD doesn't mean we think he had as big an impact on the sport as Ric Flair.

What the fuck.

I just want to see the "history of the Diamond Cutter" and some of his stories and good matches on DVD.

Shoot me.

EDIT: Ok, he cleared that first part up. Still the number of discs shouldn't mean anything. How many discs would Dynamite Kid or Bret Hart get?

If you're talking about a DVD set marketed by Vince and Co.:

1. You'd maybe get two discs for a British Bulldogs retrospective. One would highlight some of their individual accolades, while the other would center around ther tag work. As much as Billington was a god in the ring, not many casual WW_ fans are aware of his singles work as much as that of Davey Boy, especially in light of the latter's recent death.

2. Bret could easily get three discs. His greatest matches alone could fill six hours of DVD time, not to mention a whole block dedicated to the SurSer97 debacle.

You have to remember that you're filling each disc with close to three hours of material. Some wrestlers, though beloved by some, don't have as much in their resume to fill one disc, let alone three.

Who could have a 3 disc set (retired or not wrestling in TNA or WWE)?

- Foley

- Bret Hart

- Owen Hart or Bulldogs?

- Randy Savage

- Legion of Doom

- Ricky Steamboat

As for current wrestlers:

- Chris Benoit

- Undertaker

- Eddie Guerrero

- Booker T

Book? I'm not he deserves nor can fill out 3 discs. What'll be on it? Few tag matches, few Benoit matches and....Jarrett? Austin? Steiner? HHH?

IMO the guys worthy(and with enough material to actually sell) 3 discs are:

Bret

Savage

Piper

Foley

Steamboat

Current:

Taker

Benoit

Austin

Rock

POSSIBLY Eddie, Jericho or someone else.

I still want WWE to release a big DVD set of WrestleCrap/gimmicks.

So...the 1993 Royal Rumble would be on it then?

Let's see, you had Max Moon, El Matador, The Model, Papa Shango, High Energy, Giant Gonzales, Damien Demento, Irwin R. Schyster, Repo Man...

There is no telling what you could put on it, go back to the 80's as well.

I'm not talking about shit that made fans sick, like some of the stuff from the past few years either. I'm talking about the GOOD crap, if that makes any sense.
