Guest ManKinnd Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 It seems two of these guys will have mini-feuds with Brock until the other has a title match at Rumble, so who do you guys think will get the title shot? I'm scared, personally, cause they suspended Holly, who will come back in, say, a month or so, just in time to build a title match at Rumble. Lord knows I want it to be Benoit.

Maybe you should have put "if a Smackdown guy wins it" This year, they MAY (not definate) have a Raw guy win it to go for the World Heavyweight Championship. Cena or Benoit are fine with me for winners. Either one.
CanadianChick Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 I'm predicting Benoit. You never know, maybe Cena will win the Rumble if a Smackdown guy wins.
CanadianChris Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 I think Holly will probably get Brock in a SmackDown main event sometime in December. The only way Benoit should get the shot is if they're finally planning on putting the title on him. If he loses another title feud, I think that's the end for him as far as the main event goes, after losing to Angle twice on PPV last year. The problem is, I don't think Cena is quite ready to be put in that position, and I think he'd benefit more from a run with the US title (which looks like what they're positioning him for), meaning that Benoit is the only guy left.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 I think I read that since they won't be having a SD ppv in the next few months, they'll be having tv title matches, so Holly it seems will just be a tv title match.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 after losing to Angle twice on PPV last year. What?
CanadianChris Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 after losing to Angle twice on PPV last year. What? Damn, is it not 2004 yet?
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Still wondering about the "twice on PPV" part....
evilhomer Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 I'm hoping there going to go with the slow build on Cena so that there will be a lot of anticipation to his eventual title shot (a shot where it can believed that he has a legitimate chance). Bob Holly is Bob fucking Holly so there's no way that there putting him into the main event of the #3 PPV of the year. Benoit has been built up strong for the past few months, plus you're virtually guaranteed that the two of them will put on a good match. The downside, as was mentioned, is that a loss would tumble him back down to the midcard and at this stage of his career, I don't think he'd ever be a Heavyweight Champ contender again. I doubt there ready to let Benoit run with the championship so at best he'd have a one month reign, if he gets it at all. Overall though, Benoit is the best choice to go with of the contenders.
Lil' Bitch Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 I'm praying its Benoit / Lesnar in SD's main event at the Rumble.
Markme123 Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 I have a feeling they'll use Benoit at the Rumble and, like CC said, have Holly face him in a No Holds Barred match in December or January or maybe even NWO. Cena will probably win US title and eventually get Brock at WM (and main event just like he said in Seattle).

Fökai Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Cena/Lesnar at the Rumble. I'd like to see Benoit get the WWE title shot by winning the Rumble.
Aero Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 If it were up to me, only the Raw title would be defended at the Rumble next year... Between now and the Rumble, have Brock defend his title against Hardcore Holly, Cena, and maybe an Eddie Guerrero here and there. A few weeks before the Rumble, Brock complains to Heyman about all the title matches. Heyman decides that at the Rumble, Brock won't have to defend the title, but he's entered into the Rumble match. If he wins, then he gets to choose his opponent at WM. During the Rumble match, Chris Benoit enters at # 4 or some early number. He fights all the way to the end. Brock comes in sometime after # 20. It comes down to those two, and Benoit is totally worn out. Brock takes Benoit too lightly, and Benoit eliminates him to win and to earn a title shot against Lesnar at WM. But if Brock has to face Goldberg at WM, then I'd be happy with Benoit vs. Angle for the title at WM.
Guest Choken One Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 I can't seee WWE risking it with Angle this time around with his fragile neck. If they go Brock/Goldberg then it's Benoit/Cena... I have a feeling Angle will either NOT be on the show or will have another heel turn and face Eddy for the U.S title.
Guest Anglesault Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Bob Holly should never get a world title shot period, let alone on a PPV.
Guest Anglesault Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 I have a feeling Angle will either NOT be on the show or will have another heel turn and face Eddy for the U.S title. If those are the options, keep him off the show. a) Angle doesn't need a heel turn. b) Angle doesn't need ANOTHER trip to the midcard, and Eddy should make his way out of it. c) Angle should never even look at the US title. Eddy should be past it for that matter as well.
CanadianChris Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Still wondering about the "twice on PPV" part.... Huh, I could've sworn he jobbed at No Way Out.
Guest Anglesault Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Still wondering about the "twice on PPV" part.... Huh, I could've sworn he jobbed at No Way Out. No, that would be the show where he and Lesnar single handedly destroyed the Tag champs and world champ and killed all my interest in the World title feud.
Kahran Ramsus Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Benoit wins the title at the Rumble and jobs to Cena at Mania.
Cuban Linx Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Benoit/Lesnar at Rumble and Holly losing a throwaway title match on a Smackdown seem the likely options, though whatever plans they have for Angle and how his injury affects things could throw things out of wack.
Guest JRE Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Rumble: Cena (Benoit wins Rumble) No Way Out: Holly 'Mania: Benoit
DerangedHermit Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Should be: Cena Will be: Holly

Hey, better Holly than Nathan Jones or Matt Morgan or someone like that, right? Why is he better? Well 1, Holly isn't greener than my mother's cooking after in the refrigerator for 10 days.' 2, he has better workrate than either of them. 3, You KNOW he'd lose, with Jones or Morgan, it's not too sure.
