Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 I like Smirnoff, but, when I am craving vodka, the only reason I choose it over Absolut is price. Absolut is simply better. (I've never had Grey Goose.)
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 I can't really taste the difference. Anyone ever had 'stroh'? 80% brake fluid shit. I can't really taste the difference between many things after that fucker.

Guest Skironox Report post Posted December 6, 2003 I've found that Smirnoff always gives me the best mileage for price when it comes to alcohol, it's taste isn't too offensive, it's cheap, it never gives me too bad of hangovers, etc.
justsoyouknow 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 Skyy got me incredibly drunk, however, I had a horrible hangover the next day. But, taste-wise, Skyy beats out Smirnoff.
Guest croweater Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Skyy beats smirnoff, but only just. I've been hung over from both. I've never heard of that goose one, but I find it bizzare that it's 100% American owned, but imported from france? Absolute Vodka is the shit. Comrad Vodka is the worst tasting one ever. When I have money, I go Absolut, but that almost never happens. And Skyy, don't get me started. Not worth the price tag. Slightly better taste, sure, but it's vodka, so whatever. {''({o..o})''} 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Hmm, this lack of knowledge about Grey Goose is quite bizarre to me. It's like the most requested vodka in my group of friends, and is so good you don't even have to mix it to enjoy it. Spendy though.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 When you pay that much for alcohol, you better be a quadzillionaire, or it had better be someone's birthday. Otherwise you're getting hosed. And the man who can't drink Smirnoff straight is barely a man at all. (Not really, but come on, jeez.)
Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 How the fuck did you manage to get a hangover from Vodka. That right there tells you that you are drinking crap. Here goes, Absolut is absolute crap, honestly and gets over on having cute little ads. It is SHITTY vodka. Smirnoff red label is lighter fluid...thats it. It sucks. Blue label...better. Silver label, damn good. BLACK LABEL IS THE MUTHAFUCKING SHIT. SKYY is good, but the price doesn't match the quality, Grey Goose OWNZ YOUR FACES~!. So there goes the Ripper Vodka choices. ... *Spinebuster's Hoff* *pours Grey Goose over him stonecold style till he admits what he drinks is crap*

Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Vodka doesn't give you hangovers. You get sick as SHIT that night, but you don't have a hangover. Unless you are calling the nausia a hangover. Any drunkard would tell you that is not a hangover.

Hoff 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Ripper, first of all *no-sells,* and secondly, and more importantly, you're sure talking a lot of nonsense over there. But, you know, feel free to not buy Smirnoff and Absolut, and maybe they'll lower prices because of the lack of demand. I can always use a bargain. And you can get a hangover off of any alcohol if you take it in excess, and we're not talking just nausea. The Goose'll hang you over if you're not careful, and it's award-winning or some nonsense (these awards are usually given out by rich French people, although the Goose is a high quality spirit, but now I've gotten all off-track). In any case, my advice to you would be to do less talking, and also to stop wasting your money on expensive vodka when it all does the same thing, and even the best-tasting vodka is not exactly cinnamon and roses. And for record, any of you on a budget, try Barton "Charcoal Filtered" vodka. I have no idea how the hell charcoal filtering works, and I don't think I want to, but it's a relatively smooth spirit (again, it's still vodka, so don't be expecting chocolate milk or anything), and it runs about $7-8 a liter. Dude, all of the vodkas I named cost LESS than 5-8 bucks more than the Smirnoff and absolut. I don't get the goose because I an't afford it...although it does kick some ass. Smirnoff Silver and Black label are charcoal filtered and do bring the kickass. Skyy, as I said before, taste like alot of the cheaper vodkas, but has a pretty bottle and cost more...so basically, fuck them. I am a smirnoff drinker through and through, but that red label stuff...man it doesn't even mix well. How do you drink it? ... *Spinebusters Hoff onto broken Smirnoff bottles* No sell that BIATCH!! Hoff 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Okay. *no-sells* And for some of us, $5-8 bucks is a lot. What, are you prejudiced against poor people? Bigot. And I'm not seeing what issue you have with the red label, other than some ludicrous claim that the 100 proof is ambrosia and the 80 proof is paint thinner. There's a taste difference, but not so horribly noticable that it makes a difference. That being said, the higher content is usually worth the slight ($2 more on average, at least here, for 100) price jump. Unless you're one of those "bad-asses" who mixes your drinks with some 50% alcohol content. If so, then stop being a damn retard. I hate people like those. Yeah, you'll get drunk faster, but you'll do just fine with standard mixes, and your throat will thank you for the extra padding, and you'll enjoy drinking more. They use a entirely different distilling process for the two vodkas. THAT is the huge difference. The 80 proof is just kinda...there. The others are smoother and have a better taste. And I don't get drunk. I drink just enough so that I can still recognize how funny drunk people are, and remember it clearly the next day so I can pick at them. When I almost can't say the alphabet backwards, thats when I stop. You will enjoy yourself alot more then. Oh and stop hating hardcore drunks you ~DRUNKIST! Hoff 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Okay, what? First of all, the distillation doesn't make that huge of a difference. Sure, one's better, but it's not night and day -- it's still vodka. Second, if you only drink in moderation, I'm not surprised you have this odd belief that vodka shouldn't be causing hangovers. Thricely (yeah, thricely, it's not gramatically correct but what're you gonna do about it, punks), drunkist? Are you high? That's not even a word, and if anyone loves hardcore drunks, or IS hardcore drunks (plural), it's me. I just don't believe in being a complete retard about it. Enjoy what you're doing. Did you just question the legitimacy of the word drunk-ist in a paragraph that started with thricely? What kind of jackassery is that? and : "Facts . A hangover is basically caused by toxins from alcohol & dehydration. . Congeners are toxic chemicals produced as by-products during fermentation & they are often the cause of hangovers. Drinks containing congeners include brandy, cognac, bourbon, champagne & red wine. White spirits such as vodka & gin contain lesser congeners." So basically, the better distilled the Vodka is, the less and less probabilty that you will get a hangover even if you got pissy drunk. What it does to the rest of your body is another thing, but vodka can offer that hangoverfree fun. So while it IS possible to get a good ole hangover from vodka, you really would have had to hit that shit HARD!!. If you mixed it with another alcohol, it is more likely that is what got you eating the dog hair.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 So while it IS possible to get a good ole hangover from vodka, you really would have had to hit that shit HARD!! Well, shit! That could just be my whole problem! If I stopped drinking so hard, maybe I wouldn't get hungover!! ..... Whoa hey hang on...maybe if I stopped staying up so late, I wouldn't be tired!!!!!!! Stunning. Although, +3 bonus points for proper use of the word "jackassery." And by the by, do you have a source for these facts? I'm not doubting the legitamacy, just curious.
