1234-5678 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 from CNN.com SAN DIEGO, California (AP) -- Police said Tuesday they are investigating a woman's allegations that she was raped in the oceanfront home where MTV is filming the latest season of its "Real World" reality program. The 22-year-old woman, who is not a cast member of the television show, said she believes she was assaulted while unconscious by a man who is also not a "Real World" cast or crew member. Police served a search warrant on the house on November 18, seizing footage taped for the show along with bedding, towels and couch cushions. Footage is recorded from 30 cameras mounted throughout the house in every area except the home's two bathrooms, according to an MTV producer. A "Real World" cast member told the alleged victim she may have been sexually assaulted in one of the bathrooms, according to court documents. Neither the police nor production company Bunim-Murray Productions would comment on the content of the videotapes seized by police. The network and production company said they were cooperating fully. Police had not made any arrests in the case Tuesday. The woman told investigators she went to a downtown nightclub November 14, where she met a man who was an acquaintance of one of the "Real World" cast members. The woman told police she consumed a drink offered by the man and then blacked out. When she awoke the next morning, the woman said, she was fully clothed on a bed in a guest bedroom in the "Real World." The woman had pain in her genital area, and a medical examination performed the next day revealed cuts, according to court documents. Police said a person whose name was not released said he found the woman lying naked on the bathroom floor, dressed her and moved her to a living room couch. With the help of a female cast member, the person moved the alleged victim to the guest bedroom. MTV has aired 13 seasons of "Real World," which documents the lives of seven strangers living together. "Real World San Diego" is still in production, according to MTV, and is scheduled to premiere in January.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 You know, out of all the places to rape a girl, why pick a house that is full of cameras recording everything? I guess rapists aren't the smartest bunch.

I guess rapists aren't the smartest bunch. He allegedly did it in one of the 2 rooms without a camera. Yes, bad idea to do it in the Real World house, but good idea to choose one of the few rooms without a camera. **BTW, I am NOT saying rape (anywhere) is a good idea. Sure he did it in a room without a camera, but the cameras will pick him up basically carrying her into the bathroom, and then carrying her out of the bathroom to the couch. Then going to find the female cast member that helped him. He's fucked. -edit- plus the woman was smart enough to go to the hospital and get examined asap. Meaning that the doctors have dna evidence (most likely) and whatnot.
Mole 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 Wow, that is just sad. I really really really hope MTV doesn't make this a way to get ratings for the show. Next week:"Girl gets raped."

Re-read the article ... she blacked out, not passed out, so she most likely walked into the bathroom rather than was carried in, and it wasn't the alleged rapist that carried her out, but another nameless person who found her and carried her out. The guy that allegedly raped her will most likely argue that it was consensual sex. Which it isn't, if the girl was blacked out. If the person isn't in a position to say no, it's not necessarily a yes.

Blacked out/passed out - if she was given a date rape type drug it's all the same, and she would have basically become unconscious. The real kicker is the cuts in the vaginal area, if she can pick the guy out in a lineup and they got any kind of DNA from the medical examination the guy is screwed. And like I said, there will be cameras showing them going into the bathroom.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 Oh, I agree that the guy is screwed (literally, too. Good thing that he's such a fan of rape, it looks like he'll be living la vida loca while visiting the Gray Bar Motel for a few years). But, I'll stick by my passed out/blacked out differentiation. I black out more than I care to admit ("hi, my name is NL5 and I have a drinking problem" "hello NL5") but couldn't tell you the last time I actually passed out and needed physical assistance to be moved. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 The weirdest thing is that it happened to two non-cast members. So they can basically cut it out of the show if none of the cast members react to harshly to it. And I'm pretty sure the person that moved her was a cast member. The guy probably raped her and took off.

Wonder if the media do this sort of thing every time a crime happens around the filming of a TV show/movie/awards show. A SEINFELD DOUBLE HOMICIDE?... Er well.. I wasn't thinking in terms of drinking too much and blacking out that way. I was fixed on the idea that the guy drugged her. Yeah, I've blacked out plenty, just last weekend had a conversation with a girl that I have wanted to hook up with for a long time and don't recall even seeing her that night (heard from a third party). Hope I didn't do anything stupid like grab her ass or puke on her shoes.. Anyway yeah he's gonna get some man luv.

Wonder if the media do this sort of thing every time a crime happens around the filming of a TV show/movie/awards show. A SEINFELD DOUBLE HOMICIDE?... I know Entertainment Tonight has done this a few times. Hell one they they a tease "CAR WRECK ON THE SET OF J. LO AND BEN AFFLECK'S NEW FLICK!" But, this is what happened. While Lopez and Affleck are shooting retakes for their upcoming film, two cars UNRELATED to the shoot are involved in a fender-bender on a nearby street. ET shows us paparazzi-type photos of the two stars looking at the accident scene with curious and mildly perturbed expressions on their faces. Yeah whatever. Of course, ET sends more time hyping the story during the show then giving the story itself. That and sucking on Friends dick.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 I seem to remember a little while back this sort of thing happened when Steven Segal testified at some trial regarding the mob. With some of the teasers I heard regarding the story you would think Segal was the mob boss...

Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted November 27, 2003 I misread the title initially as being "Alleged Rape At Sea World, Beign filmed in San Diego." Now that projects another crisis in itself, now doesn't it. "Dad, What's a blow-hole for?" "I'll tell you what it's not for, son, and why we can never go back to Sea World." ------------- Back on topic, I'm surprised nobody else found out what was going on. With all the people in that house you'd think somebody would have noticed? But then again we don't have all the facts., so they could have been all out. I mean, I dunno about you, but if I walk into the bathroom, and there's an unconcious, naked woman on the floor who I don't even know, getting her dressed would not be my top priority. And I'm not making a joke here - I'd try to wake her up and find out who the fuck she was. If she didn't wake up, I'd call the cops. Why the fuck would he dress her, then put her somewhere else and LEAVE her there?

Considering alot of the shit that goes on in the RW house and the fact that alot of the people on the show are self-centered assholes I doubt this would be the first time something like this has happened.
