Whos been hurt most having to wrestle WWE style

Recommended Posts

My choice is of course RvD, but thats to easy, so I'd go with Taz then simply because the fans wanted him and Austin to feud and it would have done huge, but because of Taz's style and Austin's neck problems, it was never ment to be. So who's your pick?

All the cruiserweights, minus Kidman.

I agree. The WWE's cruiserweight division would equal or be greater than TNA's X-Division if they weren't always told to slow down they're styles.

Yeah RVD has been hurt.

Why? Because then he can't do "HIS" match...

Which is 25 minutes of Stalling, Posing and 4 minutes of his flashy spotty often botched spots.

WWE has made RVD a better in ring performer.

Ultimo Dragon

R.I.P.

You will find him every 4th Saturday on Velocity Hell.

Rey, Ultimo, Taz, and RVD I think have all suffered.

RVD HAS SUFFERED...IN A GOOD WAY.

It has forced his egomanical ass to shut the fuck up and WRESTLE.

I just love his "greatest" match ever as he claims (the Jerry Lynn rematch) where it was LITERALLY 25 minutes of him stalling and posing and Lynn crying about his injury laying on the floor...and a couple spiffy spots that everyone went GAGA over.

Why is Taz on the list?

He was A SHIT wrestler...Paul Heyman dedicated the company to making his ass look good.

Taz threw some suplexes around and because they made people go "oooh and ahhh" people assumed he was a good wrestler.

Ultimo Dragon

R.I.P.

I agree. Since being in WWE, kicks make up most of his moveset, and I've seen him do a hell of a lot more than that in WCW and Japan.

He has done more but not much more. Ultimo relies on flash to make himself look good sometimes. I remember some of his WCW matches and thinking that if he took out a flip or a jump his moves would still have the same impact.

Tazz is on the list because, no matter what your opinion of him as a wrestler was before, you have to admit that having to basically stop doing any suplexes that weren't a Tazzplex or a T-Bone REALLY hurt his style.

Sure, it's because suplexes were most of what he did and he may not be that great anyway, but that doesn't change the fact that it fucked his style.

As others have stated, the entire cruiserweight division. Also, in an awkward mention, Kurt Angle. Why? Because he could be so much better, better than he already is, if he were to wrestle people with different styles worldwide instead of having to stick to the punch/kick that WWE puts forth.

Or if Angle didn't fucking insist on working the Suplex orientated style.

Angle is Taz 2003.

I think the big men get hurt just as much as the cruiserweights. I know that I don't want to see every single wrestler hit side slam, spinebuster, powerbomb....

I think some of the big guys are suffering for the simple reason that they my be getting set up to only do the basic moveset. For example, Kane developed the flying clothesline, but since then, what nig man has used anything equivalant?

This has nothing to do with the topic, but I notice on one of the signatures mentions "Fuck AMW." I haven't watched NWA-TNA in a while, so I would like to know, what did they do?

The WWE style isn't responsible for Van Dam's suckiness...Van Dam is.

Brock Lesnar also gets my vote. Like a previous post said, Lesnar can hit the mat, but WWE makes him stick to big power moves. Just glad he doesn't use a powerbomb, sidewalk slam, or chokeslam, like every other "big man."

Its not like he was the RVD of WCW without the stalling because I remember him doing technical wrestling to build up to his high flying

Damn my keyboard has been screwing up on me because it wont let me insert commas or periods for some reason and instead it only inserts the capital versions of them which are < and > so Im sorry if this looks like a run on sentence

OK.

Rob Van Dam was totally bullshit from the start anyway. The only reason I like him is because he CAN do good spots. Other than that, this guy is nothing. The new style has made him look better, but also a little more boring.

I do feel REALLY sorry for Ultimo Dragon though. This guy could have been GOLD in WWE, and he has been practically left to rot in WWE.

As for Taz, I'm with Choken on this one. The guy was always bad. I have watched practically every major ECW event, and I noticed something. Whenever a match was about 5 minutes, it made Taz look like something good. When it went beyond 10 minutes, he was exposed in every way.

RVD hasn't suffered too badly - he still works his own style, though by doing that and NOT working the "WWE main event style" he's limiting himself as to how far up the card WWE are willing top push him. Jericho used to be exactly the same until he adapted his style to be more of a brawler. Actually, come to think of it, I think Jericho has suffered the most. He used to be flashy and do more high risk moves - now he's more or less a brawler.

Everyone has suffered.

Most of the moves now look like they couldn't take down a pre-schooler (cept maybe the f-5) but that's understandable changes.

But the slow down your matches stuff has killed everyone who has a speed based moveset. The change in style was only to make the hoss patrol seem better than the speedster cause Vince hates small wrestlers almost as much as he hates the government.

Considering how badly Jericho was botching things back when he did the high-risk stuff, I'd say it's somewhat of an improvement.

RVD? Are you kidding?

He's been SAVED by the "WWE style".

Cut down most of his ECW crap.

RVD actually became a BETTER wrestler in the WWE, because he was forced to do moves in between his stunts.

Taz(z) is, was, and always will be a fat orange jobber.

Ultimo, Rey, Taka, pretty much any cruiserweight born outside the US has had their career ruined by the WWE style (which is possibly the worst thing ever to happen to professional wrestling).

I'm gonna go an entirely seperate way on this one and say that Rhino has been hurt the most. Remember when he debuted and Gored the SHIT out of Jeff Hardy? The place went batshit. How many times have you seen him bust out the Gore through the table? Once, against Spike Dudley? Piledriver off the apron, through a table? Hasn't done it once. The guy could have been huge, but instead he's nothing more than a glorified jobber. Given the right push, Rhyno could be a monster heel, but instead, Vince wants to use him to get Matt Morgan over.

It's sad, really.
