King Kamala 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2003 I always hear about the 76 Bucs and 62 Mets (Although the 1899 Cleveland Spiders are technically the worst MLB team ever), but I never hear about the worst NBA team ever. So which NBA team had the worst record of all time?
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2003 The '72 Sixers immediately spring to mind (9-73) Consult here to investigate further
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2003 1947-1948 Providence Steamrollers had a 6-42 record(.125%) however that's only out of 48 games. I think Angelslayer's right in the 72-73 Sixers as their winning % was .
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2003 Yep 72 Sixers are worst ever followed by I believe the 96 Grizzlies who's star player was Bryant "Big Country" Reeves. Ye gods.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2003 Continued research shows the only other really bad team close to the '72 Sixers were the '92 Mavs (11-71)
treble 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2003 Dallas was worse than the Grizz in 1992-93 (and 93-94, for that matter). 11-71 and 13-69, respectively. 11-71 was the Nuggets record in 97-98, too. There are others, too (Clippers were 12-70 in 86-87), but I'm not big enough of a basketball fan to know them all. Not that Vancouver's winning 14 games that year is anything to write home about, but you best be respecting Big Country, son.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 Dallas was worse than the Grizz in 1992-93 (and 93-94, for that matter). 11-71 and 13-69 Quite possibly the worst two consecutive seasons ever in sports history. That or the first two seasons for the Tampa Bay Bucs (2-26), but they had the "expansion excuse"... plus they made up for it two years later by going to the NFC title game
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted November 29, 2003 I like how Big Country retired cause he got sick of losing. It shows that he knew nobody in their right mind would be interested in him
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted November 29, 2003 Big Country had a fat contract, so he got paid pretty decently when playing. He averaged double figures scoring too and was overall a decent player. But fuck that, was there ever a more backwards goofy ass looking player?
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 Vancouver Vs Seattle= Most one sided NBA "rivalry" ever. Although Lakers Vs Clippers isn't too far behind....
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 For the most part, Bulls/Heat has been pretty one-sided.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 Yeah but for the last 5 or so years of the rivalry the Bulls and Heat have both sucked. Besides I wouldn't even call Bulls- Heat a rivalry.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 To heck with this nonsense. The 1938-42 Phillies lost 100 games every year. That's futility for you.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted November 29, 2003 Who was the coach for Dallas' oh so magnificent season of 11-71 record? I don't follow the West Conference as much as the East (Knicks fan) so my history is bad.
WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2003 I believe it was Quinn Buckner. And the whitest team ever in the NBA of the modern era would be the 1990 Milwaukee Bucks which featured a front court of white Poish guys such as Jack Sikma, Frank Brickowski and Larry Krystiowiak.
