I hope they switch to white at home for the postseason and end this madness.

Amen.

And the Jody Shelley moment of the year had to have been when he face-planted right in front of his bench after missing a check.

And although I did not like the firing of Quenneville, I will still be hoping for the streak to continue.

Well the St. Louis/Nashville/Edmonton triumverate are all at 89 points right now, with a St. Louis-Nashville match-up this weekend.

I guess Edmonton will have to win and hope for either a tie in the STL-NSH game or hope that one of the teams loses their last two games in regulation, should be an interesting three days, but unfortunately I think Edmonton is the odd team out.

Edmonton can beat the Canucks. Canucks suck. And shouldn't they just hope for a Blues win against Nashville? St. Louis is gonna get 7th no matter what now...might as well prevent the Predators from getting points. Who does Nashville have in their second game? Hopefully Detroit, Tampa Bay, Boston.

Go Canada, go Oilers.

Wow, the Eastern Conference playoff picture reads like the NFL's normally does:

SOUTHEAST

Tampa Bay (106) has clinched the division title and first place in the East.

NORTHEAST (The Northeast division winner will receive the 2 seed in the East.)

Boston (102) has clinched a playoff spot. They will clinch the division title with:

- two wins;

- a win and a tie;

- a win and an overtime loss;

- a combination of two ties and overtime losses, or a win and a loss, plus a Senators tie or loss.

Ottawa (102) has clinched a playoff spot. They will clinch the division title with:

- a win and a Bruins win and loss, or combination of two ties and overtime losses.

- a tie and a Bruins tie and loss, or overtime loss and regulation loss.

Toronto (101) has clinched a playoff spot. They will clinch the division title with a win and two Bruins losses, or a Bruins tie and loss, or overtime loss and regulation loss.

Montreal (91) has clinched a playoff spot.

ATLANTIC (The Atlantic division winner will receive the 3 seed in the East.)

Philadelphia (100) has clinched a playoff spot. They can clinch the division title with:

- a win and a Devils loss or tie;

- a tie and a Devils regulation loss or combination of two Devils ties and overtime losses;

- a loss and two Devils losses, or Devils loss and tie or overtime loss.

New Jersey (98) has clinched a playoff spot. They can clinch the division title with:

- two wins;

- three points and a Flyers tie or loss;

- two points and a Flyers regulation loss.

N.Y. Islanders (90) have clinched a playoff spot.

In addition:

- the Islanders and Canadians will flip the 7 and 8 seeds if Montreal loses in regulation and the Islanders win;

- the Senators will clinch home ice advantage in the first round with a win or tie;

- the Maple Leafs will clinch home ice advantage in the first round with a win;

- the Bruins will clinch home ice advantage in the first round with two points in their final two games.

I think the only team from the East I could live with winning the Cup besides the Leafs would be Tampa Bay.

And I'm praying for Edmonton, but I'm not very hopefull. That lead they blew against Dallas in the last minute a few weeks back could be what killed them. That and the game against LA where they were leading by a goal with less than 90 seconds left and lost in regulation with 4 seconds left. That one hurt.

A lot of calls didn't go their way in the St. Louis game.

I'm sorry, I know there is favoritism, but THAT blatant?

And the neat thing about Edmonton, is if they DO make the playoffs, they've got TWO goalies that can be the starting tender and neither will take it as an insult to be the backup.

That's a dangerous thing to have. Good or bad. Particularly if it is good for Edmonton, becuase I could see a couple of teams dropping to the Oil easily.

This is shaping up to be the most interesting playoffs in a long time. Go Bruins.

If Nashville pases Edmonton I will break holes in walls. If Edmonton makes it in and beats the #1 Red Wings I will break holes in walls. But they will be holes of delight.

Detroit has a habit of choking against underdog teams in the playoffs, so there's hope.

More playoff fun:

If St. Louis beats Nashville the Blues are in and the Oilers must tie, OTL, or win against the Canucks.

If Vancouver beats Edmonton the Canucks get the division and the Oilers are through.

If Colorado beats Nashville the Avs get the division, the Oilers are in, and the Preds are out.
