Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted December 6, 2003 His life may be pointless and only revolve around wrestling, but what about the guys who want to be home with their families? Its a cruel thing to impose on his employees. I have a feeling that whoever works the show is doing it because they want to go to Iraq, not because Vince is putting a gun to their head. Don't be so niave.
Guest JMA Report post Posted December 6, 2003 Bradshaw meets all of JR's requirements to be successful. 1: Be a redneck. 2: Be patriotic. 3: Be a hoss. 4: Have a previous career in football.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 The last thing the soldiers needed is to have to worry about is protecting a bunch of stupid wrestlers coming over for a wrestling show. In a time of war, a wrestling show should NOT be held in the country the war is taking place! Geez...this is just insanity.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 They can just hold it in the northern part of Iraq, as long as it's out of that middle section, they should be fine.
Guest JMA Report post Posted December 6, 2003 This would be the perfect time to turn Bradshaw heel.
Highland 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 WWE.com: During a brave forray into Iraq Vincent Kennedy McMahon was mysteriously killed by a single shot to the head by an iraqi freedom fighter. The mysterious iraqi was heard to be singing something that resembled the Motorhead song Evolution. The mysterious iraqi was later seen with a briefcase containing $100000!~ The WWE board of directors have decided to turn the company over to the able leadership of Mr McMahon's daughter's husband Paul Leversque. Our condolences go out to Mr McMahon's family and his several misteresses. You know,I was about to say that I was hoping Triple H would make the trip to Iraq, but for entirely different reasons. Interpret that however you wish. -Patrick This board would be saying "OMG HHH is holding down the iraqis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~"

The soldiers are going to be over there on CHRISTMAS, so WWE/whatever other entertainment that goes over there is probably welcome.
Detective Comics 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Is everyone sure they are taping a show, rather than just visiting the troops and saying hello and then showing that??

Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Hey here's a thought ! WWE is actually doing something THOUGHTFUL ! But rather than credit McMahon for doing this, lets look at all of the negatives. Well done to Vince for at least giving enough of a shit to actually send all of his Smackdown guys to Iraq. Do you have to be reminded it's fucking IRAQ they're going to ?!?!?! Guest deadbeater Report post Posted December 8, 2003 (edited) Sigh. So easy to be cynics. US soldiers are among the most enthusiatic of all fans. They even cheered loudly while Bob Hope (bless him) was stumbling over his lines in his final years. This is probably the first regular US TV program other than a news show to ever be held in Iraq. This is USO, WWE style, and should be a lot of fun. Whether or not you support the war, the soldiers at least are trying to make a rose, not a poppy, grow in the desert. And maybe they will do just a couple of matches and more interacting with the troops. So what. Some times they need to do that. In fact, if I were running the show, I would work on having otherwise non-participating wrestlers interacting with the fans.
