Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Ok I did the 4 BCS bowls because I think a thread would get way to big if we tried to do keys of victories for EVERY bowl game. Anyways what do you believe each team has to do to secure a victory against there opponents? What tactics and plays should they be running to defeat there enemy. Do they have no chance in hell? Will it be close? Football experts....grace us with your knowledge.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 To be honest, I really couldn't care about three of the four bowls. The Rose Bowl is the only one that holds my interest (as it always used to).
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 I only care about football leagues with a real national champion... So you're a Division II- and III-A mark? The NFL calls its champs World Champions and Super Bowl Champions interchangeably, so what's your point? LSU just needs to play its best, plain and simple. There is no real key to their victory. If they play as well as they can, their best will beat OU's best. Yeah, I said it.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Uh, no. I just despise NCAA Division I Football. I don't really care about Division II and III, but at least they have true champs. What's your point about asking what's my point?...
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Uh, no. I just despise NCAA Division I Football. I don't really care about Division II and III, but at least they have true champs. What's your point about asking what's my point?... I love college football but I HATE the end of the season cause it's always the same bs with Division I What do the teams have to do to win? I'll just go with the main two bowls LSU: -Make the OU safeties play the game, force them to make plays -get pressure on Jason White -pound the ground OU: -protect White -Play your game -Contain the LSU running attack, make the QB beat you USC: -Contain Perry -Don't use a dime defense -Score quick, score often Michigan: -Perry, Perry, Perry -Pressure the QB -Make it a defensive battle, if it goes offensive then they are done
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Michigan - Attack USC on the ground with Perry, and then counter with the playaction pass, I'll take our trio (quartet), Quintet with Tabb, of recievers against any db's in the country. - Play a sound game defensively. Spy Bush coming out of the backfield and spread out wide. If they run Bush and Williams to one side run a nickel so you can double Williams . If needed move Jackson to corner Don't fuck up on special teams. Fuck ups here are the reason why you aren't playing in the Sugar Bowl USC Protect Leinhart and give him time to throw Use the three headed monster at tailback to their strengths. Stop the run and don't get beat on playaction pass.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 The funny thing is that even after Saturday....OU is still favored to win.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Only 6 points? Geez, I need to get down on Oklahoma.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Well it is going to to be a very close game. In the end it'll come down to whoever has a better strategy. The teams are both pretty even in terms of what they have...although I think OU has the better offense.
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Ohio State - No turnovers - Play classic Ohio State football, that is run, run , run and run again. To win the Buckeyes need at least 150 yards rushing and also need to dominate the time of possession - Contain the KSU running game. Account for Roberson, he can kill you with his legs Kansas State Do everything that worked against Oklahoma
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Miami -Establish a running game -Give Kellen the ball in the red zone. This guy only has one touchdown, I mean come on he's a fucking soldier - Whoever is playing quarterback needs less than two turnovers to win the game Florida State Stay away from Sean Taylor Superior Special Teams Play Turn it into a track meet if needed. Miami has the athletes, but not the triggerman at Qb, needed to put up the numbers Florida St. can this year
Cartman 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 LSU - Show up.

But when he's off, he's more than off. Game 1, Rix lost the game for the Noles with poor decisions.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 (edited) LSU - Show up. You have really never watched an OU game other than Saturday....have you? Basically what I've heard on the radio is that if OU plays like they played against Texas they have it in the bag. If LSU can neutralize White and out run the OU defense then they can win. If the OU defense can pound LSU's offense like they have every other offense then it swings in OU's favor. And the biggest thing I've heard....OU HAS to establish a running game. It's going to be a very close game. And it should be VERY good. Edited December 9, 2003 by The Mighty Damaramu
Cartman 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 I'm actually just a mark for underdogs, and i'm one that believes if a team doesnt even with their own conference championship they don't deserve a National Title shot. That and i'm being an antagonistic moron who hardly pays real close attention to College Football because it's a joke. However... I love USC for the plain and simple fact that I love Pete Carroll. Cartman 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Well considering how OU dominated all their other opponents this season like you keep bringing up, I would still consider LSU a underdog by a little. I won't DARE argue that it will be a good game because it should be. Regardless of who belongs in what gaime agsinst whomever, these are still 2 of the best teams in College Football. I will probably watch the game, even if I don't care to watch College sports all too much.

You wouldn't bet that LSU will lose by 6? I'm sorry you lost the newbie. Well OU did dominate the season and they did face some good teams. But they haven't played a team as good as LSU. And LSU hasn't met a team as good as OU. This will be interesting.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Miami is just flat-out FAST. As someone said, turn it into a track meet. Florida State is fast too, but Miami is just blazing all around, and neither team is particularly known for being powerful. Blink and you might miss the first half. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 I could easily see a poorly played game between Miami and Florida St. Neither team is thrilled to be playing each other when they meet the first game of next schedule.

Eh....I think they'll give it there all. Maybe whoever wins can make a statement for that first game of next season.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 I just heard on ESPN that even if OU/LSU wins then the coaches could still rebel and vote USC the National Champions....can they do that? Wouldn't they be sued because of the agreement?
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 I could be wrong, but I think the AP can vote for whichever school they want, but the coaches poll is bound to the BCS outcome.
Spicy McHaggis 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Frankly, if the Trojans play the way they can, Michigan will get rolled. The Wolverines must: Offense: --Run Chris Perry --Rushing game needs consistent 5-yard gains --Break big weakside runs --Mistake free passing game; no interceptions from Navarre --Get 2-3 big receptions --Win the field position game Defense: --Watch Steve Smith/Keary Colbert deep and middle with their safeties --Check Reggie Bush with a linebacker --Stop the combined rush of Hershel Dennis/Lendale White --Get significant pressure on Matt Leinart --Double Mike Williams The Trojans must: Offense: --Protect Leinart --Get the ball to #1; no Williams fumbles --Vary the passing game by throwing to Colbert/Bush/Smith --Run up the middle Defense: --Stop Perry with front 7 --Pressure Navarre with D-Line and occassional blitz --Set up pass coverage to stop deep routes --Be patient, wait for Navarre to make a mistake I don't think 11 players on defense is enough to effectively stop enough facets of SC's offensive attack to have a chance. Michigan will have to match USC offensively, which will be difficult considering the strength of the Trojans D. Prediction: USC wins big, 45-17.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 I'd actually like to see the spread on that game. There are people that are argueing with the OU/LSU spread. People are saying OU doesn't have a chance in hell of beating LSU and can't fathom why they're favored. Honestly....it's funny that on Friday night OU is the "Greatest Team in History!" and on Sunday morning is "The worst team in the country and a big bully with a big head!"
