I really like Guiness, it is smooth, has a nice taste and the foam is adds that thickness to it mmmm.

However, I must ask, is this beer meant to be knocked back like a 6 pack? I mean I couldn't imagine drinking too many in one sitting due to the thickness of the beer. It seems too filling. I usually start out with one guiness and then go to a lighter beer for the getting drunk part. Anyone know how strong Guiness is?

Guinness Draught is listed at 4.1% (by vol), which sounds about right. A draft Guinness should be a bit more though.

And this is a personal preference, but you should never shoot down a good beer. Take your time and enjoy iy. Save the chugging for the regular stuff.

I too am a lover of Guinness, but I never buy it from the grocery or liquor store. I only drink it at the bar. It's just not the same from a can/bottle. The Stout is ok in the bottle, but Draught MUST be consumed from a tap.

I wouldn't drink it in bulk. It's like Jameson's. It's meant to be drunk at a nice pace and enjoyed.

I agree with you, but the widget in the can is pretty cool stuff. Ozone layers, space stations and electric cars be damned, making canned beer taste like a smooth draft beer is what the brightest minds in the world should be focused on...

I once knocked back five pints of the black stuff at a bar. I wouldn't recommend doing that very often.

I'd ask whether it was an Imperial or Standard pint (20 vs 16oz, I think), but then I realized that it probably doesn't matter - it's still a shitload of Guinness, and probably more than should be drank at one sitting...
