Jingus 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 My computer won't load it. How'd he do it? I'm assuming he got the first two whistles in World 1 and then just ran through all the levels real fast, but I'd think the World 8 levels would take much longer than 11 minutes to get through them all. How'd he do it?
Cran Da Maniac 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I think somebody said it was by using the Game Genie
Anya 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 The person who made it didn't mean for it to be taken as real. It is made by using an emulator.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Some of the heights the person was getting on the jumps did look a little suspect, and I was sure that the stars from the bomb guy should have hit Mario, but honestly, Using the exact same method, it wouldn't take a very good player longer than 12-13 minutes to beat it. And Jingus, they basically had beaten the levels on the first board and had gotten the whistles within 3 minutes which allowed for them to use the time on 8 level and beat it in 11 minutes. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 it was definately made using the rom & emulator. The jumping was just ridiculous.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Okay, this made me hook the nintendo up last night and try this and I got it done in 17 minutes (I died twice and it took me longer to beat bowser). So I can definately see this being possible without an emulator. I tried that jump on a bunch of crap to get 1ups thing and only got 1, but I'm sure I could do more with practice. Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted December 18, 2003 I'm sorry for those, like me, who felt that the Mario 3 video was one of the most amazing things they have ever seen. Truth be told, the video is fake. There proof comes straight from the horses mouth. At the end of the video, there are url's to two different websites. The soramimi.egoism.jp one is the one with the proof. The site is in Japanese, but a translation done exposes the truth. I QUOTE: ZURU is carried out. It is dropping and moving by the emulator till 1/30 second. Save and loading are repeated and recorded during movie record. When a mistake is saved and made before a dangerous place, it is touch called loading. The translation is poor, but you get the point. The video was done on an emulator FRAME by FRAME, with constant usage of save states to correct any errors. The only true feat in the whole video is that a person actually took the time to map out every level and know the patterns for all the enemies. Actually performing the task of playing took little skill, however. The guy that did the video never actually meant for everyone to believe it was a person playing in real time. He also says: I think I am sorry very much so that the dream of the pure person who considered may be ruined. It should have written beforehand. and I am very sorry to people considered to be a play by people's hand seriously Also in the translation, it states that it took the guy 2 years to do it. The Japanese must have a lot of free time on their hands. For a full transcript of the translation (although it is loose), here is a link http://www.excite.co.jp/world/url/body/?wb..._co=excitejapan Cite
Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Considering they used an emulator to make everything else perfect, they should have gotten all stars instead of that one mushroom in the middle =P
