My marginal QB just went down for the season on year 3 of my Dynasty in the first game with a ACL tear and my RB is out for 8 weeks with a broken hand in the same game. My backup QB is like a 40 and my backup RB fucking fumbles EVERYTIME he gets the ball.... I had to take him out of the return plays because he would drop the goddamn thing. Guess I'm going to need to convert a FB or a WR to RB. I may just sim this season... don't know yet. Oh and I lost 35-24. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2004 ARGH! This game is pissing me off! The difficulty change from Junior Varsity and Varsity and the learning curve involved is driving me nuts. Well the fact that this is really the first football game I've actually sat down and played probably means a lot but still....... I dominate everything in sight on Junior Varsity with OU. Including beating Ohio State for the National Title 105-0. Way to easy. So I go to Varsity. And I am playing as Michigan and having trouble beating teams like Indiana and Oregon. MrRant 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2004 That's because at Varisty and above you actually have to think about your play calling and you don't have super-powered stats in your favor (pass blocking, etc) and the CPU stats are more inline with with you (or better than you depending on the team). Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted January 21, 2004 I ended up beating Arkansas in double OT to win the Fiesta Bowl in my second season with Morgan State. My Heisman trophy winning WR got injured in the beginning of the game and I had to wing it to stay competitive. I blitzed on every down to stop their top ranked run game and I won the game by calling a QB draw from the 5 receiver set for a 2 point conversion. I finshed #2 in the nation for that year. This year I have gotten some decent recruits and opened up the season with a nationally televised rematch with Arkansas. My schedule is slightly harder and my presitge is at 3 stars. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2004 Well my season is going great with Michigan. I've fought my way from #8 all the way to #2. I'm undefeated at 8-0. I've started my game against Purdue twice and man....someone doesn't want me to win that game. My reciever's drop easy passes.....my running back falls at the lightest contact despite breaking tackles left and right all season. Oh and Purdue always goes for long passes and throws it into double man coverage....there guy always gets it and always goes the distance. My guys dropped every pass thrown there way in the first half...even if they were out there alone and it was sailing right to their numbers. So I said "F you computer." and used ALL of my cheats. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2004 Oh man do I hate the commentary. They make no sense sometimes. I've had no penalties all game.....one of my guys(not controlled by me) runs offsides. What do they say? "They need to calm down and stop getting these silly penalties!" What!? That was my first one and I'm up 42-3 with 1:30 left!!!!! And then there's Lee Corso. I've never really paid attention to him in real life but is he that stupid? He sure does say some stupid shit in this game and sometimes his play calling makes no sense. It's 4th and Inches and so far they haven't been able to stop my run game. I just hit "Ask Corso" hoping he'll take me to a quick run play. What does he do? "Just throw it down field! I never really trailed in any games though.....but I was afraid of Ohhhio State. I was winning 24-7 at the half and suddenly there defense came alive and they pulled themselves to 24-17. But I was able to hold them and then run the clock down. And I thought I was facing Texas in the National Title game but I they lost to K-State in the Big XII title game and K-State somehow leapfrogged #3 Miami and is taking me on at the Sugar Bowl. phoenixrising 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2004 So I finally got back to my UCLA dynasty after taking a couple month long break to play the bowl games (I recorded the results and MVP's too - I'm such a dork), and play my new games (Madden and Naval Ops: Warship Gunner). I'm in the third year and ranked #1. My goal is to play up to the national championship which is in the Rose Bowl, get that trophy and either switch to a different team in the same dynasty or start a new dynasty. I want to use a mid-major - either BYU or Hawaii - for a little more of a challenge. Anyway, I'm 8-0, and playing #21 Stanford who is 8-1. It's in Stanford. Home advantage must have helped because they jumped out to a 17-7 lead. I have Matt Moore in the game, and he's throwing picks and getting pressured big-time. So I switch to my other quarterback, Stuart Fowler, who's more mobile (I've been switching off between these two QB's for a few weeks now, when one goes into a funk I put the other one in and it usually does the trick). I go up 21-17, Stanford scores to make it 24-21, then they get the ball back. Then Glenn Oheari takes it away with a long interception return to make it 28-24 UCLA in the second quarter. I finally get into a groove and win 80-24. Despite Moore's 205.6 passer rating I'm going to start Fowler for the next game. Moore has better accuracy, Fowler's the better scrambler. I like using Fowler cause if I get pressured I can just scramble for first-down yardage, and I can use the few option plays in the UCLA playbook to get out on the edge and run with either Fowler or Tyler Ebell (now rated 98 in the dynasty), or throw up a quick option pass (rapidly becoming one of my favorite plays, the computer doesn't know what hit them). I'm #1 in both polls but #2 in the BCS behind Ohio State. I have three games remaining, against Washington State, #18 Oregon and USC. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

That means that you go max protect and send out two guys deep and try to get man coverage and stuff like that, especially on Heisman. Anyways I didn't win any individual awards this season so none of the fucking recruits wanted to come to my school......despite the fact I went 13-0 and beat up on Kansas State in the National Title game. I was winning 17-0 but they made a comeback after the half and scored 14 points but I quickly shut that down by taking the lead up to 28-14. Except for the two touchdowns(one was a defensive TD) they maybe got 4 first downs. So this is how everything happened. KSU is #5 in the BCS while my Michigan, then Texas, then Miami round out the top 3. Well I win my conference and Miami wins it's conference. KSU also wins it's conference and somehow leapfrogs #4 Pittsburgh and Miami to become the #2 team in the Sugar Bowl. The media of course doesn't give me a chance as just about every SI cover is dedicated to KSU pulling off an upset. If this game had an ESPN option I'd be listening to experts ramble on about how I had no chance. I suddenly felt like OU in 2000......a good team that's undefeated but unexpected to beat the media darling.......well I embarassed these bastards. So after I get done humiliating KSU I go to the offseason as the National Champs.....with not a single award. I had a more complete team...not individual awards. So it's no surprise that the recruits want to go to places like Texas, Oklahoma, Miami, and Kansas State. Well I manage to pick up some good lineman, good defense, and a good QB. Now I know they're only ranked 60 nationally but hey......what I did was impressive. 62-7. 5 TD passes and 244 yds from my QB, 104 rushing yds from my halfback and 2 TD and over 100 yds recieving for my WR. But do I move up in the rankings? Not on those idiot Coaches Poll(they hate me) but the Media sees it and moves me up to #2. And do any of my players get any talk as Heisman canidates???? Of course not! Hell it pissed me off that Chris Perry didn't win the Heisman for me last season when I had him rush for 2500 yds and 21 TD! Some f-wad from Washington go the damn thing! If this game had press conferences I'd be on their bitching like mad. Instead you guys have to recieve the brunt of my rage.....I apologize for my gruffness. I am going for the BCS Grand Slam this year as I am ranked Number 1 in the Nation in every poll so I should be heading back to the National Championship Game if I take care of bussiness in my final 3 games. He ends up only completing about 25% of his passes....I mean he throws for 244 yds and 3 TDs but that's mainly b/c my WR is so good.....but he had so many passes that he just threw out into double coverage or overthrew or whatever. Plus he threw his first 2 INTs of the season......so I'm thinking....."Oh great...if those perfect games before didn't help him then this game isn't going to do shit for him." Guess what?
