syxx2001 Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 I was watching ILC today and when they showed another episode I looked at the cast and there are alot of people to come from it. Tommy Davidson. Jamie Foxx. Damon and Kennen Wayans. Kim Wayans. Jim Carrey. Kim Coles. David Alan Grier. That chick who plays the mom on 'That's so Raven'. I'm sure I'm missing some other people. So, is this the most successful cast from a variety show? Or are the newer shows casts so new that they haven't broken out yet (SNL, Mad TV, although some have been there for years).
Guest drdrainoscott Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 No way was In Living Color's cast more successful than the early 90's cast of SNL. I mean, Jim Carrey is the only major star to come out of In Living Color. From SNL there is Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Chris Rock, Jon Lovitz and Chris Farley, among others. In fact, the first few casts of SNL beat out In Living Color as well, with Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray and John Belushi.
razazteca Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 The 70's SNL cast might be the best ever. That chick who plays the mom on 'That's so Raven'. I'm sure I'm missing some other people That would be Crystal Wayans? Shawn Wayans did well for himself also. The only people that broke out from Mad TV that I can think of are: Orlando Jones, Phil Lamar, Will Sasso, Artie Lang, Nancy Sullivan.
syxx2001 Posted January 2, 2004 Author Report Posted January 2, 2004 Who is Crystal? I've never heard of her. And the lady on That's So Raven has a funny first name. Its like Keymah or something.
razazteca Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 I remember seeing that weird name Tkaklfhaieurh with "Crystal" as the middle or nickname in the credits.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Yeah, she has a weird name, but she's not a Wayans, though.
syxx2001 Posted January 2, 2004 Author Report Posted January 2, 2004 Yeah, Crystal is her nick name. It was like Keymah 'Crystal' something
WrestlingDeacon Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 I have to give some love to the SCTV cast who have all gone on to have at least pretty decent careers and all considered to be great comedic actors. That being Eugene Levy, Joe Flaherty, Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas, Martin Short, Andrea Martin, Catherine O'Hara, John Candy and Harold Ramis (not a member of the main cast, but he did work on the show and played minor characters).
Guest Ghettoman Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Mike Meyers alone kills that thought, between Waynes World, Austin Powers and Shrek his success can carry anyone from the 90's SNL cast who didn't do anything, and there's not many of them.
WrestlingDeacon Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 SNL cast members from the Mike Myers era who have done jack shit or in general suck a large one: Melanie Hutsell Morwenna Banks Beth Cahill Siobhan Fallon Laura Kightlinger David Koechner Nancy Walls Sarah Silverman
godthedog Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 hey, laura kightlinger and sarah silverman do not suck.
WrestlingDeacon Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Ok, but what have they done since SNL. Not much. And actually I personally do think that both suck, but both are pretty cute and I would bang them.
godthedog Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 sarah silverman still does stand-up, and she's a regular on crank yankers (one of the funnier ones as well). i have no idea what the hell laura kightlinger's doing now, but she's been banging jack black for the last 6 years.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Blah, I never liked Silverman. I don't even know anyone else on that list.
DerangedHermit Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 The 1993-94 SNL cast, even though the seasons before were better. Among its cast were Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, Michael McKean (part of the season), Mike Myers, Rob Schneider, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Al Franken, Norm MacDonald, and Jay Mohr. Also had *rawr* Sarah Silverman *rawr*.
King Kamala Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Ok, but what have they done since SNL. Not much. And actually I personally do think that both suck, but both are pretty cute and I would bang them. Hey Sarah Silverman was on Greg the Bunny and Laura Kightlinger was on Dr. Katz. OK both got cancelled but I thought they were both damn good shows.
Mecha Mummy Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Melanie Hutsell Morwenna Banks Beth Cahill Siobhan Fallon Laura Kightlinger David Koechner Nancy Walls Sarah Silverman The fact that I only remember Hutsell and Silverman on SNL and only remember Walls from the Daily Show and the recent Comedy Central Thanksgiving marathons says it all. That Comedy Central fake telethon was quite funny, though. Oh, and Hutsell was totally awful. Silverman was okay, though.
BlackFlagg Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Sarah also does Tough Crowd on occasion
2GOLD Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 One thing is for sure, no one from the new cast of SNL has a future. My god, this might be the most unfunny bunch on tv. And when did SNL become nothing but dick and sex jokes? The writers should be placed in front of a firing squad. Will and Chris might be the last bit of talent to come out of SNL for a long while.

I wouldn't say that. Jimmy Fallon has a life of dick-sucking after SNL. Horatio Sanz will just end up just like Farley, except less talented. Maya Rudolph will star in some unfunny UPN shit. Kenan will do Goodburger 2.
razazteca Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Will Forte was the writer for the short lived FX show Action.
King Kamala Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Action was actually a Fox show that lasted 3 episodes before getting cancelled and Fox dumped the six or so remaining unshown episodes on FX.
razazteca Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 If Action was on HBO or Showtime it would be getting Golden Globes. It was a show killed before its time. It was the only good show Jay Mohr did in his career besides the ESPN show that nobody watched either.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 It's sad but Kenan is the most consistantly funny guy on SNL now.
