I thought it would happen, but Gabe pretty decisively shot it down. Then again, he shot down a surprise at 12/27 too. I'd love it, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon. Stryker-Hero has happened before, too.

I really hate this heat between Hero & ROH. It's preventing the fans from seeing some truly special matches.

AmDrag v. Hero anyone?!?

That shit needed to have been booked last week.

And not in England either. Where the scum of the earth can see it, like Indiana or Philly.

Or my backyard.

Or in MLW... Dumbass Court puts Hero vs Collyer and M-dogg. Collyer is ok,but M-Dogg is a different style who should be facing Dutt,Evans,Hart etc. I hope MLW does Hero and AmDrag when I am there live on 2/13 in the front row loving every second of the classic that will be Hero and American Dragon.

Hero can't come to ROH soon enough.. imagine all the great potental matchups.

I'd love to see Danielson Vs. Hero too, hopefully they hook up sometime in PWG's tag tourney later this month...

Hero carried M-Dogg, kicking and flipping, to a good match when M-Dogg first arrived in IWA. Course Ian puts the belt on M-Dogg, comes off his high, realizes what he's done, and has M-Dogg drop the belt to Punk right away.

I will be SO PISSED if MLW books Hero vs. Dragon. They will ruin it by putting it in front of a crowd that will likely chant "boring", and will probably give it only 15 minutes max, although it needs at least 35. This match needs to happen in IWA:MS or RoH. PWG would be "eh", but I could deal with it. And yes, Gabe said Hero is not coming into Roh.

I need to to see Chris Hero like it was yesterday ! Chris Hero v American Dragon = GOLD ! Also, Chris Hero v Homicide would be no slouch either. Has there ever been a Chris Hero v B-Boy match before, and if there was, how was it ?

Chris Hero and B-Boy have faced twice in IWA:MS, in the semi-finals of the 2003 Ted Petty Invitational, and there was also a rematch on the 12/20 show. I haven't seen either yet, but both matches are supposed to be very good.

Why's everyone so high on this guy? Can someone give me a clip?

I haven't seen much IWA.

both Hero/B-Boy matches were absolutly gorgeous. the TPI match was a stand alone ****1/2 match. hard-hitting, exciting, dramatic match. a testament to why Hero is one of the top 5 in the US without question. simple story; with Hero knowing and showing that he is the better "wrestler" than B-Boy, so B-Boy breaks out his vicious strikes and high impact moveset... and Hero sells like only Hero can. Hero lets him know that 2 can play at that game and doesn't back down from the "fight". The closing 3 minutes are ridiculously intense as everytime you thought it was over, it wasn't. This match alone is worth buying the tape, and it was more than worth the 6 hours in a car.

the second Hero/B-Boy match (from 12/20) is kind of a different animal (but still fantastic!). the match is good on its own, but really requires viewing the first match to become something much greater. also, this match needs to be watched with the understanding that the booking was done in such a fashion to set up for the 2/3 falls match. but, back to the match itself... they play off of all the signiture stuff from the first match. whereas the first time there was a lack of familiarity; this time, they know what to watch out for. B-Boy knows not to get caught on the mat (although, he does for a bit) and puts over Hero's attempts at locking in the Hangman's Clutch as truly desperate times. Hero throws the first forearm coming out of a corner break as a receipt for when B-Boy did it a month ago. Hero knows to look out for the Shining Wizard and so on and so forth. some people were unhappy w/ the finish as it happened... but like i said... it was booked to set up the 2/3 falls match, and i'm totally okay with that. also, this weekend's shows (12/19/03 & 12/20/03) are a testament to the fact that Hero's really the one guiding these matches and keeping them together. not that it's a straight up carry job, but he's taking some that would be very good on it's own and really making it something special... because, on 12/19 B-Boy wrestled Ian Rotten, and for much of the match B-Boy seemed kind of lost. the matwork, and much of the match itself is kind of sloppy; nothing really came together... and a match that was exciting on paper felt flat in the end.

Also, Chris Hero v Homicide would be no slouch either.

it wasn't... it was fantastic. they wrestled at IWA's King of the Deathmatch in a non-tournament match (either 08/02 or 08/03).

CZW just had a Hero/B-Boy/Alex Shelley 3-way match on TV last night. I'm not sure when it happened (Sandman???).

Granted, this is probably the only match I've seen of Hero, but I came away much more impressed w/ B-Boy & Shelley than I did Hero.

That was their Cage of Death V three way for #1 contendership to the Iron Man title.

Guys like Chris Hero and Bryan Danielson don't shine in 3-ways or 4-ways because those matches are inherently spotfests and Hero/Danielson excel at building to moves, telling a story, etc.

if you really want to see what Hero can do, check out the following matches:

(the above mentioned) Hero/B-Boy TPI 2003 (11/08/03)

Hero/Shelley We are Family (07/04/03)

Hero/Punk (02/07/03 2/3 Falls, 93 minutes)

(the above mentioned) Hero/Homicide (08/01/03) (if you can get someone to put this on a comp. for you, do it. unless you want to sit through the garbage tournament...)

Hero/Stryker TPI 2002 (11/01(maybe?)/02) (Hero sells the leg like a champ.)

Hero/Styles (12/19/03 (this is the vicious prick heel that Styles should've been as NWA Champ, Hero again... selling the leg like a champ.))

Hero/Punk (02/09(maybe?)/02) 55 minutes Tables and Ladders match

Hero/Whitmer/Punk (10/04/02)

Hero/Steve Stone (11/22/03

Hero/Rotten/Cash Flo (11/24/01) (pros of this tape: this match... wet, topless women . cons: the first 3 matches, someone almost legit bleeding to death in the main)

Hero/Punk (10/06/01... not terribly excellent. but fun to see how well these two "clicked" even back then... and also to see how far they've both come)

... i would actually recommend watching the matches in this order...

that's not always true... the ECWA 4 way with Dragon/Low-Ki/Andrew/Daniels is very good. granted, not as good as RF Video says it is. and i will admit that Dragon doesn't look exceptional in it... but the Dragon/Ki story was nowhere near as important as Daniels/Andrews story was in that match. but it's still worth the money to buy the tape to have the match (provided RF sends the right tape...)

EDIT: and the above Hero 3 ways are very, very good... and Hero looks very good in them.

I don't know. 2 wrestlers who need at least 35 minutes to put on a good match? Something seems wrong with that to me.

they don't NEED the 35 minutes, as both are more than capable of putting on very good matches at any length. and Hero/Dragon would have a, no doubt, fantastic 15 minute match. but given more time (i.e. the 35 minutes)... the could really turn out something special.

Has Hero vs. Doug Williams happened in USA?

I have one match with them from Austria on DVD and I´m ready for more action

A clip wouldn't really do Chris Hero justice, just because he doesn't have any flashy moves or anything to put in a clip. You really need to try and find a full match, I would say against C.M. Punk since they have the best chemistry. I've seen C.M. Punk vs. Colt Cabana from IWA on Kazaa, so I see no reason Hero vs. Punk wouldn't be on there.

Thats probabley the truth, but if you get the fans into they wont trust me. Homicide and Lynn. Both of them were masterpieces that no one talks about. The first one was better because of the fan went nuts when Homicide won,and were in it with him the whole time. The chants of "187" roared threw the Tabu Night Club several times. I dont know if the fan will chant boring because now the new fans of the FL indy scene just dont like too see guys like Samoa Joe. Thats a style they dont like. A big guy with technical maneuvers. Mike Awesome turned the whole FL scene too belive that an ideal big man was Mike Awesome circa 99'.

If the fans know what Danielson and Hero are about(technique, and storytelling) the fans will get into it. Even if I am wrong(which I might) I will find out soon because MLW booked Mike Modest vs Jerry Lynn. I hope they dont do the dreaded boring chant.

The fans probably chanted "boring" during the Mike Awesome/Samoa Joe match because it was very boring. Mike Awesome isn't that great of a worker outside of hardcore matches, and Samoa Joe works well with smaller guys. And the fans knew the chairs and tables were coming, so they didn't want to have to sit through the match to get to them. I wouldn't mind seeing Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Hero, but Chad Collyer vs. Chris Hero is coming up at 1/9 and that should be really good.

Hey now...

That match would work out perfectly fine in PWG. Although I don't think a singles meeting will happen there... a tag meeting in the tourney though is highly possible however.

Other Chris Hero matches I really want to see are Hero Vs. Samoa Joe and Hero Vs. Super Dragon. Both those could be truly amazing.
