DMann2003 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2004 I have this comp tape of angles and matches from WWF/WCW Fall 93, and there's an interview with Yokozuna & Coronette after SummerSlam in which the Undertaker shows up, and this blond woman is conducting the interview. It isn't Mike Mcguirk, and she's too young to be Linda. It's 2 years before Stephanie Weiland, so who is she anyone know?
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Probably the same chick that interviewed HBK & Diesel on Superstars after they punked the 1-2-3 Kid in the aisleway. For the longest time I thought it was Mike McGuirk but I guess not.

DMann2003 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 The girl doesn't look skanky enough to be Missy, besides during that time she was just about to become the Nasty Boys manager in WCW.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Sunny didn't work for the WWF until she came in with Chris Candido in early 95. Prior to that point, and around this time, she was in Smokey Mountain. She didn't go by her real name and wasn't used on TV prior to the Body Donnas gimmick. Missy was in and out of the WWF before anyone noticed back in 1987. I wonder why she didn't last enough to be on TV, it's not like she would refuse to sleep with anyone.

I never bought it, just skimmed through it a few times while at Barnes & Noble. I remember her saying she and Eddie Gilbert (her then-husband) were upset it wasn't a package deal with him getting a contract as well. About 5 years prior, he did a stint in the WWF working with other young talent such as Curt Hennig.
WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Mike McGuirk's real name is probably Michelle. I think the blonde is actually Rhonda Shear of USA Up All Night Fame. I vaguely remember her working as an interviewer for the WWF as some sort of cross promotion thing. Check out her website at www.rhondashear.com and see what you think. Noooooooooooooooooooo, it is definately not her. This woman actually has a brain. The only participation Shear had with the WWF, IIRC, was 1) appearing at WrestleMania X, 2) doing a photo shoot with HBK for WWF Magazine when the two were "dating" in 93 ( ), and 3) being on hand for a pre-WrestleMania X house show in Anaheim (some footage was used for a pre-WM X edition of Up All Night ... I have a fan cam of the show).
WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Ok, then the only other female commentator/announcer I can think of that was hanging around wrestling circa '93 was Bonnie Blackstone who was the wife of the dude that owned Global.

Enigma 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 What kind of parents name a girl Mike? I could never understand it. Is her real name Michael McGuirk? WTF??? Meltzer explained this one. He said that she was the daughter of some independent wrestling promoter, and he wanted a son so badly, than when his baby was born a girl, he was so stubborn about wanting a boy, that he still named his daughter Mike. I distinctly remember Tamara Murphy Sytch (Her last name's escaping me) being a WWF personality hosting the "Update" segments ala Sean Mooney. This may have been very brief, and may have been in late 94 or whatever, prior to Skip coming in.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 Had to check around a bit but you're right - I just have absolutely no recollection of it. Dated January 5, 1995 - The WWF has already fired Charlie Minn, replacing him with Stephanie Wiand and Tamara Murphy (Tammy Fytch from SMW). Tamara is doing a straight announcing role, but there is talk that she'll eventually get worked into a heel managing spot. http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&...on.uwaterloo.ca

That might be it. I remember this question being asked on another thread and that was the answer given, IIRC. It was definitely Bonnie Blackstone. An interesting side note to Missy Hyatt in the WWF: She worked one TV taping hosting a segment called "Hyatt House" that was apparently supposed to replace Piper's Pit after Piper's retirement at WrestleMania III. That would have been WrestleCrap worthy.
