LSU. They showed me something against OU tonight. Granted OU was playing like shit for the first half but they were playing better than Michigan was.

LSU deserves the nod.

USC

They were #1, they didn't prove they didn't deserve not to be #1.

Therefore, they remain my #1.

Nothing against LSU cause they are impressive, but USC remains #1 on my board.

Anyways its official on the split champions...USC has been voted #1 in the AP Poll, ESPN is reporting.

Which is very fair.

LSU did nothing to overthrow USC and if I had an AP vote, I would have kept USC at #1

The REAL question is where USC finishes in the coaches poll: #2 or #3

Well I've heard two ways.

They cannot vote for #1 but they can vote for 2.

They can't vote for 1 or 2.

If it's the latter then that sucks because as an OU fan even I can say that they deserve the 3rd spot...not the 2nd spot.

Oh, nuts.

The one (OK, maybe not the "first") time I say something without fact-checking it first and look what happens.

I seriously thought LSU was undefeated this season. I don't pay attention to college football because I think it's a joke that they don't have a playoff system.

Even though I blame Racist Dusty for this error, I throw myself upon the mercy of this board...

Just know that he hates niggers.

But I like your new avatar.

Surely that has to count for something...

Yes. My avatar owns.. I KNOW that. I've been PMed about it, so... it's moot. Nigger hater. Go join Downhome or something.

USC easily.

LSU frankly played like shit tonight. While OU couldn't do a damn thing LSU gave them every chance in the book to win the game. Stupid INTs, shitty punt formations, whatever the hell their QB was doing at the end of the game, etc.

USC proved they belonged at the top and LSU did nothing to dispute it.

Kylie will return if the Packers are defeated, so enjoy your time atop the avatar mountain, Mr. West.

Oh yeah, LSU > USC.

Okay, so you can put it back up after they play the Eagles. It's okay -- my avatar still owns all your shitty Kylie ones.

Thanks to the BCS there is no answer to this question.

Bitch all you want to about Oklahoma deserving to be there (ha) after getting blown out in their last game...

but the fact is their is a split national title between the SAME TWO TEAMS THAT THE TWO HUMAN POLLS SAID SHOULD HAVE PLAYED LAST NIGHT.

Instead they, and we, get cheated out of it.

See, here's my question.

Now why don't the two #1 teams play each other and the winner becomes BCS Master of the Football Universe or something?

Can't be giving the fans what they want now can we.

I think that as of right now a split is right. I have no idea who would win if USC played LSU. I think it would have been nice to see, but we won't so no sense bitching about it. As the season ended, there were two teams that deserve to be number one (that made less sense after I typed it).

Also, I disagree with people who say there should be a game after the BCS championship to decide the overall winner. That would've worked perfectly this year, but look at last year. It would've made no sense to have OSU play anyone else after beating Miami. The problem is that they keep trying to come up with solutions because of something that happened the year before, instead of looking at an overall best system.

Would it work logistically?

--need to get a stadium

--need to arrange travel schedules for 2 schools, not to mention lodging, etc.

--need to print tickets

--need to line up sponsors

--on such short notice, how many fans/alumni/etc, will be able to attend?

It's not like they know this type of situation will come up every year, so they can't have all these plans in place and end up not needing them.

Guest Ghettoman

Find the closest stadium between two teams, call up Jet Blue and put that bitch on espn.

I hate hearing about how athletes need to be pampered. I like my athletes tough, rugged and dead by 50.

Well it's really not plausible. They don't really have time to prepare nor do they have a stadium, people with time to go, or anything.

If this was something that was decided on at the beginning of the season then yeah...it'd be fine. But it's not...and like it's been said...you can't change the rules halfway through.

Plus this system isn't plausible. Would it have been fair for Oklahoma in 2000, Miami in 2001, and Ohio State in 2002 to play another game? No.

Get your logic out of the college football thread.

Although...Then we would have had USC vs. Oklahoma (#1 in the stupid BCS rankings) and LSU would have gotten screwed.

You really just need COMMON SENSE.

Outside of Oklahoma fans...pretty much everyone knew before the bowls started that the crock of shit was that the game wasn't USC vs. LSU.

And look...here we are.
