EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Latest On Goldberg's WWE Future Enjoy Goldberg while he is here... The latest on Goldberg is that WWE is expecting him to work WrestleMania XX and all the shows up to it, but that he likely won't be back after that. Goldberg has told management that he wants to fulfill his contractual obligations and try to change some of the negative perceptions that everyone seems to have towards him. It is extremely unlikely that WWE will offer him anywhere near what he is currently getting when his current deal expires, and the general feeling is he will not accept anything less. Goldberg has no problem just working Japan shows if WWE does not work out, but his drawing power in Japan is also being questioned now. Another problem right now with Goldberg is that he is more physically banged up than most people realize. It is far from 100% that WWE will even try to bring him back and even bother offering him a new contract when his deal expires. The guy is probably already swimming in so much cash that it's not even funny!

BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Bill Goldberg defeated Zero-1’s Naoya Ogawa in the main event of Hustle-1 earlier today at the Saitama Super Arena. Shinya Hashimoto and Nobuhiku Takada were ring side doing a lot of referee bumps with one of the officials from PRIDE. The match was said to be really good with Goldberg taking a lot of bumps, which the live audience loved. Plans are already underway for Hustle-2, which takes place on March 7 at the Yokohama Arena. They hope to sign Goldberg again and have him headline the show against Shinya Hashimoto. With the show taking place just a week before WrestleMania XX it’s hard to imagine Goldberg signing on for the deal, nor would WWE be too happy with him doing that. His contract with Dreamstage Entertainment was made out side of WWE, right before he signed on the company in early 2003. - wrestlingobserver

He was probably scared of Ogawa kicking the hell out of him.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Considering he was the best RAW champ in 2 years and one of the 2 last remaining faces that the crowd believes can truly beat HHH, I can't believe they are going to let him walk. I mean, they have made tons of bad investments (Henry, Orton, Nash) so why get rid of the one guy who SEEMED to bring back some of the lost WCW fans? Cause he wants the same deal? Right, and watch HHH get a f*cking big raise when his contract runs out. I dislike Goldberg but I'm not stupid. He actually made me give a flying damn about that piece of tin and with him losing, that means if Crippler vs HHH DOES happen then Chris will get slammed into the mat for a 3-count at WM since you KNOW he doesn't fit into the RAW gameplan. k thx 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Goldbergs not bad. He doesn't deserve the money he's on, but if WWE don't offer him a new contract, that's just dumb.
