Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted January 6, 2004 So around the time Austin came out to explain why the all important Survivor Series match meant nothing, I turned on my PS2 to play FFX-2(Good game, btw). Anyway, later I read on Raw Jericho went to the ladies' showers to speak to Trish, but instead bumped into... Mae Young! Why the hell do they keep bringing this woman back again and again? No offense to her, she may be a real nice lady in real life, but everything she has done in the WWE has been discusting or unfunny. You'd think the WWE would have stopped after the Mark Henry fiasco... or the Raw X special... or the Redneck Triathlon. The question is, did Jericho really think this was a good idea when he was planning this angle, or did someone else put it in?
Guest Fook Report post Posted January 6, 2004 My question is this: Why on earth was Mae Young in Trish's shower? And where was Trish?
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 My guess is it was a rib pulled by Christian. I'd rather watch The Cat dance on SD than see Mae Young stripping on RAW. >_<
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 6, 2004 I TOLD you all that this angle would crash and burn. You said I was too negative.

Steviekick 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 It was funny and stupid, but I do think that we have way too many Mae Young appearances.

Anya 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 In kayfabe is the idea that Mae is just always at the arena for every show? That seems to be the case..
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 So glad the WWE writing staff came in to save the angle to turn Jericho face but making it FUNNY

Downhome 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 It never should've started up in the first place. Amen brotha, amen. Preach on sista~! 1) WWE can't write "soap opra" for shit, they just can't. They might be able to put out a segment here and there that's pretty cool, but they can't do what needs to be done...that being, present those types of segments one after the other, consistantly. 2) Eventually for these kinds of angles, one of two things happen. They either just end out of nowhere, with no reasoning behind it, or they become SO bad that they come up with some sort of cheap out that means nothing to the original angle. They should simply NOT try the soap opra style of writing, they can't do it.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 I laughed. That was a classic scene, classic being used as the positive version of cliche.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 And if they absolutely have to do it, don't do it with one of your top heels and your biggest female. Do it with mid-carders who need something to do, not maineventers who could be doing something else much more worthwhile.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 *raises hand* When the hell do soap operas EVER make a lick of sense? I've watched a few for a few months and their storylines are worse than the WWE. Yet....I CAN'T TURN AWAY! They are just sooooooo stupid and out there that they work.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 I didn't laugh. I didn't even say "ewwwwwwww gross~!" I just tossed up my hands as I realized just where this angle ended up, just as I knew it would.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 I turned on my PS2 to play FFX-2(Good game, btw). Thats the one of the things that pissed me off the most about RAW. 1 commercial for the damn game is fine, but I think there were about 20 commercials for it. I don't have a PS2, but If I did the excessive advertising for it would cause me NOT to want to go buy it. And I didnt find anything wrong with the idea of Mae Young in the dressing room/shower (except for the slip of seeing her naked, ugh). I even said when Jericho entered that it wasnt going to be trish.. The major problem with RAW tonight was the commentary. Next week I'll remember where the mute button is.. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 I'm boycotting the game just because the commercials have went above and beyond the call of duty in annoying me to want to harm.
Guest Frank Grimes Report post Posted January 6, 2004 The problem with this what happened tonight is that it is totally pointless. I was glad to see they didn't drop the Jericho-Trish angle after the "bet" revelation, though I question why they ever needed to change it to a bet instead of leaving it with the original angle. But next week, Jericho is going to be right back to asking Trish to forgive him and (save maybe a brief flashback) the incident with Mae Young will be forgotten. I'm all for comic relief, but doing it in the middle of one of your better angles for no purpose is pointless.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 I figured what would happen is that Jericho was going to go in there, be talking to someone other than Trish, then they walk out of the shower and kiss him, and then Trish walks in on them or something. What did happen, was just pointless and had no reasoning in happening.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 I thought it was going to be Lita, and then she would tell Trish that maybe he isn't just acting. But I guess comedy relief was more important. Whatever. This angle sucks anyways. If they wanted to turn Jericho face, I'm sure a better way could have been found.

Hey, it worked for Austin when he stunned Stacy WWE fans= Love faces who beat up females for Good Reasons, like not drinking a beer or not showing breasts. I'm going to go weep in the corner that my gender is the cause of that. And you are right, I was SURE it was Lita. Then it was Mae and I knew that the angle was dead and Jericho was doomed. Guest Frank Grimes Report post Posted January 6, 2004 That's what gets me. Mae Young stopped being funny right around the time she gave birth to a fucking hand. THAT was the best they could do tonight? I still think Jericho/Trish has been one of, if not the most interesting storylines on Raw. But instead they give us this nonsense. Of course, I'm expecting logic from WWE, so I get what I have coming to me.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 What can we say? Gewirtz LOVES Mae Young and loves "his" version of comedy. Wise someone would tell him he's not funny and get it over with.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 I still wish that Jericho finally gets Trish to be his again, and they stay happy for a week or two. Then they say that they had sex, and the next show after that, Jericho pushes her down, screams on the mic to Christian that he FINALLY won the bet, and then puts Trish in the Liontamer. I would mark out so much for that, I just can't begin to tell ya.

Guest Frank Grimes Report post Posted January 6, 2004 I don't know, I'd kind of like to see them together, but WWE seems to be pointing them into a face duo combination. I think Jericho makes a better heel (unless he has heel Stephanie to tear apart), and so I'd like to see them put together as heels.

As a face Trish would simply be the source of Jericho's new found "face heat", and as heels they would still get pops regardless. Trish is WAY too big to be with a male wrestler anymore.
