haVoc 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 Off air results from RAW... Credit: 1wrestling.com/411mania Hey all, I attended the January 5th RAW at the Pyramid. Random comment but standing outside in the cold waiting to get in the Pyramid was no treat. The show was ok. The crowd was pretty active for the most part. I would say about 8,000 was at the show. Rock band Saliva was there on the front row on the non-TV side. Dark Match: Rico w/ Miss Jackie defeated John Heidenreich with the roundhouse kick. Sunday Night Heat: Randy Orton defeated Val Venis in a non-title match w/ the RKO. Randy Orton's loud crowd reaction surprised me. He is going to definitely step up in 2004. Al Snow and The Coach came out to a decent pop. Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak defeated Matt and Jon from Tough 3. The Tough Enough boys looked like a young version of the Hardy Boyz. They didn't botch any spots to my amazement. Sunday Night pyro... Matt Hardy Version 1 defeated Lance Storm w/ 2 ladies with the Twist of Fate. Matt Hardy was better off on Smackdown. After RAW went off the air.. Batista tried to cut a promo but after he said, "We are the tag champions" the microphone went out which left the crowd confused. Triple H was then left alone in the ring selling the Sweet Chin Music. Oddly HHH was then signaling a ring person to throw out some beer, ala Stone Cold. But uh oh, Stone Cold came out in his 4 wheeler. For about 20 minutes Stone Cold and Triple H talk about various subjects such as old Memphis wrestling tapes, Jerry Lawler, beer tossing, football, and their past. Stone Cold and HHH were then teasing the crowd, saying that they were going to make up and let bygones be bygones. But that wasn't to be as Stone Cold remembered the promo Triple H earlier on the show. After they toasted Stone Cold gave HHH 2 stunners. Biggest Face Pops 1. Stone Cold 2. Shawn Michaels 3. Jerry Lawler 4. Randy Orton (Heat) Biggest Heels Pops 1. HHH 2. Kane 3. Ric Flair/Batista 4. La Resistance
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 The Heat matches sound like RAW matches and the RAW matches sound like HEAT matches. We sure the production team didn't screw up with who was suppose to wrestle on which program?
Guest Besus Report post Posted January 6, 2004 Randy Orton's loud crowd reaction surprised me. Biggest Face Pops 4. Randy Orton (Heat) This is the 3rd time he's got cheered since he's been on Raw. I hope he gets a response from all crowds from now on.

I hope he gets a response from all crowds from now on. Well, the crowd probably heard the music and thought Triple H and/or Flair was coming out.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted January 6, 2004 Why not make the match w/ Venis a title match? Because people are hip to the idea that Val is not going to win the IC Title and that a non-title match seemingly telegraphs a win by the challenger. So fans end up buying more of Val's near falls and get into the match more easily.

Stop the excuses.
Guest StevieNightHeat Report post Posted January 6, 2004 Why is Rico wrestling in Dark Matches now? and the Jindrak/Cade vs Matt/John match should be good.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2004 Well, I don't think people would buy Val having a chance either way. Making it a title match might give Heat a little "juice" and get some more viewers. Orton is supposed to be a cocky bastard? Do this: have Orton interrupt Lillian in mid-announcement, and say "I'm Randy Orton, legend killer. *Mick Foley* is too scared to face me in the ring, but I'm supposed to be concerned Val Venis is going to beat me for *my* Intercontinental Title? I don't think so. This match is now a title match." Do that every week. Give Val some near-falls, have Orton do some cheating & ultimately pull out the win. You've: 1) made Val/whoever look good (several near-falls, almost took the title, Orton needed to cheat to beat him) 2) put heat on the Orton/Foley feud (Orton keeps harping on the "Foley is a coward" angle) 3) bring some prestige back to the title

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2004 I fail to see how Jindrak and Cade, who are horrible, will have a "good" match with the Tough Enough kids. Unless you were using sarcasm.... You had to be.
cbacon 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2004 Lance jobbing on Heat makes me sad. Their dropping the ball on the potential Storm/Venis face tag team. Given a decent push they could challange Flair/Batista in a plausable WMXX match

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 7, 2004 More then three, im talking about face reactions. Right, he also got booed twice. And you can't SERIOUSLY count the match against FGB (They would have cheered me) and standing next to Flair in a tag match as serious face heat.

Yeah, I'm not particularly a Orton-hater, but that had absolutely nothing to do with Orton. We hate Goldberg, period. But anyone in the ring with him, and we'll cheer for that guy.
