Guest PowerPB13 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 This week's edition of Raw did a 3.5 cable rating, with a 5 share, off of hours of 3.5 and 3.4. It's never a good sign when the first hour of the program does a better number than the second. Given the way this week’s show went downhill though, the trend was certainly warranted. Let’s hope WWE got the message. The highest rated segment on the show was the overrun, which did a 3.7. The overall rating is down from last week's 3.7 and it should noted that the show did not go against Monday Night Football for the second week in a row and still could not grab any of the football fans in the audience. The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Well...there was no star power on the show.
Guest Coffey Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 3.5 seems average to me. I don't see the reason to burst out into laughter.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 It's funny because they did above that pretty much every week of the football season.
Nighthawk Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 I don't see why that would please you anyway. You should be grief stricken.
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 It's pleasing because it shows that a weak product gets weak ratings.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 I think this is as simple as: "Go to bed early...or watch the Dudleys main event?"
Sonic Reducer Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 It's quite comical. Oh, RAW. You're starting to turn into Nitro.
Guest PowerPB13 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Goodbye WWE...soon you'll be nothing more than material for future Wrestlecrap books. -Patrick
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 It's actually like the anti-Nitro. Nitro had roughly 498,976 wrestlers appear on the show a month. RAW has the same 20.
Jobber of the Week Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Even I didn't watch the show Monday. I went to the movies instead.
Nighthawk Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 But why is it... funny? I wouldn't laugh at the retarded kid when he falls down the stairs. Perhaps I'm overly protective becase the title of this thread is the same response my penis got on ratemyboner.com. Same number of "HA"s and everything.
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 I took a nap, smoked a BUTT, and surfed the net.
dubq Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Yeah, because that 3.5 is really going to spell the end of the company.... 3.5 is hardly a horrible rating. Compared to the 5's that they used to do, sure. But compared to everything else.. hardly horrible.
J. Hungerford Smith Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Anyone who honestly believes that WWE is actually going to go under because of a 3.5 TV rating is for lack of a better term, sad.
Guest PowerPB13 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 A person can hope, can't he? Either way, it seems like only the threat of extinction can force Vince into changing things... ...well, either that or it gets him whining and cying like a little bitch about the big bad billionare trying to put him out of business. -Patrick
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Actually to be honest I forgot Raw was on this week (a first) and I only tuned in when someone told me about the HHH berating Austin thing, but since I missed it, I turned it off and played NFL 2K3.... sad how Raw takes a backseat to a dated edition of football.
razazteca Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Does not look good when the ratings go down for the 2nd hour. Teddy Long needs to be in the Main Event...............PLAYA.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Teddy Long > Bischoff >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Deputy Drunk
Guest BionicRedneck Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 But why is it... funny? I wouldn't laugh at the retarded kid when he falls down the stairs. You wouldn't? Seriously?
J. Hungerford Smith Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Another thing, I don't understand why people actually WANT WWE to fail, considering its the only wrestling source that is widely available on free North American television.
Downhome Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 OMG a 3.5, LMAOLLAOLOLZZZZ~!!!!!!!! da WWE izz gonna die know, just u watch!~!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111 OMG eye cant waitt two see them die 4 gooddd!!!!!
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 HA! Ha! This is HHH and Randy Orton's fault. If Benoit vs Angle was booked for RAW then it would have been at 10.6 rating and at least 100 stars.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 But why is it... funny? I wouldn't laugh at the retarded kid when he falls down the stairs. You wouldn't? Seriously? I'd stifle the laugh.
razazteca Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 After the Mark Henry vs RVD match everybody change the channel in disgust since the dream match of Mark Henry vs Randy Orton will not happen.
Highland Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Another thing, I don't understand why people actually WANT WWE to fail, considering its the only wrestling source that is widely available on free North American television. Because they want to prove their smarkness by thinking every independent out there is better than wwe and that the company's demise will somehow lead to an awesome wrestling product on tv, instead of the reality which is no wrestling on tv. As craptascular as wwe has been, it's still leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 But why is it... funny? I wouldn't laugh at the retarded kid when he falls down the stairs. You wouldn't? Seriously? I'd stifle the laugh. I wouldn't go right up to the kids face and go "WAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH! You fell....HAHAHAH! Hehe...over....down....HAWAHAHA!..right down the fucking stairs! HAHAHAH!" but I'd laugh all the same. I might TRY not to laugh but it would probably be too funny. RAW drawing 3.5 isn't funny at all, though. I mean, seriously, what's funny about it? As craptascular as wwe has been, it's still leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else. Who is "everyone else"?
claydude14 Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Well I've pretty much stopped watching RAW. If I hear of anything I want to see when reading the recap, I just find the torrent, ala HBK/HHH.
