CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 January 5, 2004 This is going to be my first of many question-oriented commentary. With out a comment board right now I’m hoping to deal with your questions and comment in commentaries like this one as often as I can. Q: What do you call your finishing move? A: The new tag team finish Val and I have been using is the old Hart Foundation, “Hart Attack” finish, which is what we have been calling it in the locker room. We have not officially named it. If you guys have any ideas, please let me know. Q: Have you ever considered growing you hair long? A: NOPE! It would take forever and I despise long hair. I had a fairly long ponytail once but I still had the flat top. Hey, I was young and stupid, what can I say? Q: Do I wear reading glasses? A: No I don’t. I have extremely good eyesight. When I travel with guys on the road I am usually reading the road signs before they other guys can tell there is a sign there. Q: What kind of student were you in school? A: I was an honour roll student in school. I was a very strong Math and Science student. Believe it or not Phys-ed was always my lowest grade. Q: Have you and Chris Benoit ever wrestled on TV? A: Chris and I have never wrestled. I think both of us would love the chance but it has eluded us thus far. There aren’t too many guys left that I haven’t worked with. Shawn Michaels is the only other stand out I can think of right now. Q: 5 things you would like to do in WWE before retiring A: 1: Have a Wrestlemania Match 2: Wrestle Chris Benoit 3: Wrestle Shawn Michaels 4: Wrestle Single match with Ric Flair 5: Lose a retirement match and actually never come back. Q: If WWE wanted to do a “Week in the Life of-“ video of you and follow you around for a week, would you be interested in doing it? A: I would definitely be interested, as I think these things can be very interesting and a great thing to have and look back on in years to come. I would have several reservations and concerns. I don’t like putting my family in the spot light so I would have to seriously think this through before agreeing to this. Q: Now that you and Val come to the ring with girls, is there any chance of getting Dawn Marie back? A: I seriously doubt it, and to be honest if I were to get her back I would much rather be programmed as a single. Her and I have such great chemistry together having her manage me in a tag team would be odd. I know she was with me when I was with Justin, but he had his manager and I had her. There was no mistake that her and I were together, which is why it worked. If I had creative control working with Dawn again would be my first priority. Q: What do other wrestlers think about the Web? A: It’s funny I always joke that wrestling is only fake when you lose. It’s a dig on the boys because we often brag about our title reigns and accomplishments but whenever we are on a losing streak always point out that it’s a work and losing is no big deal. The Internet is viewed in a similar light. If we are being praised for having the best match we seem to give you guys a lot of credence, yet oddly enough if you bury us you’re a bunch of dumb marks who have never taken a bump and don’t know what you’re talking about. I think sometimes we all take things a little too seriously. Wow I can’t believe I just said that. (LOL) Till next week, keep those questions coming. If you guys have any ideas, please let me know. I havent seen them do the Hart Attack yet? Cool. Hmm, wonder what they could call it? Q: Have you and Chris Benoit ever wrestled on TV? I would love to see Lance against any of those 3 guys, and possible at Wrestlemania XX, he can accomplish one of his goals. Q: Now that you and Val come to the ring with girls, is there any chance of getting Dawn Marie back? I don't know why they couldnt bring Dawn over from SmackDown! to work with Lance. It's not like she's doing anything worthwhile over there. I think matching them up could do more good than harm. Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 Lance is my new wrestling hero. Such words of wisdom.
clean rob 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 It's a shame because he seems such a genuinely nice guy, but Lance is going to achieve precisely zero of those 5 goals of his. He should lower his expectations somewhat: 1: Have the longest pointless losing streak ever in WWE. 2: Get humiliated on-air by Stone Cold. 3: Wrestle Randy Orton. etc.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 He's already accomplished #2 and 3, clean rob. But yeah, that was another interesteing commentary from Lance. he's a really good guy. I've actually had about a dozen of my questions answered on his comment board, and he's also e-mailed me to wish me a happy birthday as well as talked to me on AIM. clean rob 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 Really? Well, I guess I stand corrected - thanks Matt...don't suppose you fancy reminding me when those matches were? I can't for the life of me remember either of them.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 I can't give you exact dates or anything, but both happened on Raw, in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Sometime in the fall of 2002, I believe around the time Storm and Christian lost the Tag Team Titles, both of them jobbed to Randy Orton in back to back matches on Raw. That was the same show on which Orton injured himself. As for being humiliated by Stone Cold, who could forget the entire "boring" angle where he was ridiculed by the fans and Austin alike and forced to job to Garrison Cade? That angle was what led him to team up with Goldust (and now Val Venis) and start dancing.

clean rob 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 As for being humiliated by Stone Cold, who could forget the entire "boring" angle where he was ridiculed by the fans and Austin alike and forced to job to Garrison Cade? Indeed, I was referring to that very angle. Good old Austin, he sure gave Lance an awesome rub by being in that angle with him. I still can't remember either of those matches you mentioned at all, but I'm sure you're quite correct! Damn my alcohol-riddled memory.

OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 Was that the match where Stone Cold laid down on the stage and pretended to fall asleep?
clean rob 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 I'm not sure he actually lay down on the stage, but he certainly made snoring noises, said Lance was 'sending him to sleep' because he was so boring, and of course started the "Boring!" chant which somehow failed to get Lance over as a credible wrestler. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 Poor Lance. Remember when WCW pushed him to 3 titles and he was a credible world title contender? Ok so it was WCWs dying days, but he was over more than most in the WWE are now.
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 And every single night he'd be interrupted by the music of either the Filthy Animals or the Misfits In Action. And IIRC he gave the Cruiser Title to Elix Skipper... i never knew what happened with the WCW Hardcore Title, or even what it meant since they were allowed to use chairs anyway... and lost the US Title to Hugh Morrus. Go Lance. Being a Brit, I only ever saw Worldwide. But I didn't mind. Because you see, on Worldwide we got Scott Hudson basically doing what Tazz used to do on Velocity - take the piss because he knew no-one from management was watching. The best two Hudson calls I saw were: *Nash steps over the rope to go to the outside in pursuit of Steiner* Hudson: Oh, I thought we were going to see an Asai moonsault there! *Nash has kidnapped David Flair and is on the video wall in order to get at heel Ric Flair, and Flair-loving Mike Tenay is going insane on commentary* Tenay: Where is that? Is that a WCW camera crew? Hudson (without missing a beat): It can't be, they're holding the camera steady.
