EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 Harrison's Divorce a Done Deal by Sarah Hall Harrison Ford is a swingin' single once more. The Indiana Jones star's uncontested divorce from screenwriter Melissa Mathison, his wife of 18 years, was finalized on Tuesday. Not that Ford is exactly flying solo as a result of his dissolved union--the ruggedly handsome Star Wars vet has been joined at the hip with gal-pal Calista Flockhart for almost two years now. The May-December romance--he's 61, she's 39--initially caused quite the media buzz--but that was before the likes of Demi and Ashton began cavorting. These days, the Han Solo-Ally McBeal matchup seems the picture of domestic bliss--the diminutive actor and her adopted son even reportedly moved in with Ford last year. No word yet on whether Flockhart and Ford will be altar-bound in the near future--should they decide to walk the aisle, it would be his third marriage, her first. Ford met Mathison in 1976 on the set of Apocalypse Now--he played a colonel, she was working as an assistant--and the duo wed in 1983. Mathison went on to earn an Oscar nom for penning the script to 1982's smash hit, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. She also wrote 1979's The Black Stallion and 1997's Kundun. The famously reticent Ford, meanwhile, earned international acclaim for his role as a rakish adventurer in the series of Indiana Jones action flicks, and climbed the ranks to become one of America's top leading men. The Tinseltown twosome announced their initial split in November 2000, but stated that they intended to try and work out their differences. However, Mathison filed for a legal separation the following August, at which point she sought custody of the couple's two teenage children. The final custody agreements reached by the couple were not disclosed in their court documents. Ford also has two adult sons from his first marriage to college sweetheart Mary Ford. That union ended in divorce in 1979. Upcoming projects on Ford's slate include a final reprisal of his role as Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones 4, due out in 2005. DAMN I didn't know Ford was still married.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 Only thing I cared about was: Upcoming projects on Ford's slate include a final reprisal of his role as Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones 4, due out in 2005. Why can't they leave Indiana Jones alone?! Go make Hollywood Homicide II or something all the while banging your stick figure for a girlfriend...

The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 I don't know why everyone still acts all *gasp* cradle robbing with this relationship when Ally is pushing 40 I don't think it's the age difference that offends anyone. More likely, it's the fact that Calista Flockhart is practically 2-D she's so thin.
