Monday Night Wars/Death of WCW DVD Specs?

Recommended Posts

Actually, no way is it true, for two reasons. First, it says that the list has been floating around for a couple weeks. Well, this is the first any of us have heard of it. Second, no way the WWE, as tasteless as they are, would put the match where Sid breaks his leg on the DVD. They have at least some class.

Sid didn't break his leg in 2000, it was at Sin a couple years later. The Benoit/Sid match had the excuse of Sid's leg on the rope and Arn Anderson missing the call. It was a good match from what I hear.

Sid/Jarrett/Animal/Whoever was the match, and it's on the list I think.

If they are going to show the Finger Poke of Doom then they must show Rey Mysterio the human lawn dart right? What about Chris Jericho & JJ Dillion promos about the rulebook? Chris Jericho vs Dean Malenko promos? Monday Night Jericho? Jericho hosting the luchadore battle royal?

Damn it.................I want the Ultimate Jericholic Collection.

But you and seemingly everyone else are missing the point: IT'S SUPPOSED TO SHOW ALL THE BAD/HISTORIC THINGS, NOT THE GOOD THINGS. Do you show the conquest of Poland and France when making a documentary about the fall of Nazi Germany?

I'll show Hitler & the Nazis relaxing on the beaches in Argentina. Hitler the book author, painter, lover of art and women. And how his ideals live today years after his death, how influencial he was as a leader of men.

You do know Hitler and Vince have alot incommon :firedevil:

Benoit / Sid happened at Souled Out 2000.

The Sid leg break happened at Sin one year later.

Russo fought Booker T. when he won the title. Not Nash.

Doesn't sound too reliable.

Yes, they have so much class. It's not like they would ever do any angles around necrophilia either.

Right?

Actually, it is the RISE and fall of WCW, so they should show the good things. Also factor in they could just show highlights of the bad things in the speaking part of the dvd and then load up the extras with full length great matches.

I like this match selection, because I never get tired of seeing how WCW went to shit.

But with the inclusion of the triple decker cage match and Sting/Hogan, are they actually going to imply that gosh, the orange roid goblin was actually at fault for some of this?

If Hogan resigns with them before this thing is released, suddenly it's going to be full of Bret Hart matches.

I find it rather humorous that Vince hates WCW so bad that he would release a DVD of some of their worst stuff. I mean he DID buy the company. But I guess Vince hates his competition THAT much.

And he must hate us even more for making the Worst of WCW on DVD.

And laugh as we BUY it.

And admit it, we're all getting it.

I'm buying it because I always buy their special DVDs.

Like BloodBaths, Flair DVD, Hulk Still Rules, Hardcore, Rey 619 and HBK From The Vault.

It's a funny thing, isn't it? But of course if he realized that he owns WCW and they aren't his competition any longer, we would never see such a DVD.

In fact, all of sudden revision history would kick in big time.

"WCW wasn't that bad. It made great use of veterans and younger, more acrobatic stars and had daring, ground breaking angles like David Arquette, world champion and the Viagra on a Pole match...."

Oh, and I hope this DVD is narrated by Vince McMahon, and concludes with:

"So, like the AWA before it, WCW died because they held on to old stars long past their prime and drawing power, refused to capitalize on hot young talent, pleased the backstage politicians more than their fans, and came up with ridiculous angles and matches nobody wanted to see. Thank heavens those days are long behind us."

I actually have no real problem about this DVD being released. But I do hate the fact that Vince is trying to rewrite wrestling history because he lost the ratings wars for a small time in the companies history, and the fact that Turner took all his OLD talent. This was also the reason why they fucked up what could have been the greatest angle in the history of professional wrestling(The Invasion). Instead of doing the right thing and trying to do something that would help business and possible spark the wrestling industry again.

Bret Hart 99/11/21 Toronto, ON

This list is just as reliable as the first list of matches that were on the Flair DVD.

There's not enough Hogan...or Goldberg...or Flair....or nWo, to make me believe this.

Where is the greatest match ever from the 1st Nitro? Flying Brian vs Jushin Lyger?

What about Raven, Malenko, Jericho, Rick Martel, Booker T, Saturn, Scott Hall? And the rest of the midcard?

Damn it I need to see Scott Hall do a survey again!

WWE doesn't want the world to know that WCW used those wrestlers better than WWE ever did.

It's already a questionable list. Let's wait until 1wrestling, or Silvervision, or highspots, confirms it.

What about Raven, Malenko, Jericho, Rick Martel, Booker T, Saturn, Scott Hall? And the rest of the midcard?

Martel had a GREAT string of matches in late 1997 - early 1998, but it was hardly a blip on the overall scene. The same goes with Saturn (unless you want to include that angle with Jericho).

Malenko/Jericho's feud could be covered on the DVD, as well as Raven/DDP/Benoit (*hint*hint*).

I don't think you can really dignify a "Rise Of WCW" and "Fall Of WCW" DVD without including Scott Hall, simply because he was in a lot of integral angles (Outsiders' first Invasion, nWo, Hall being last line of defense for Hogan on 07.06.1998, Goldberg v. Nash, Fingerpoke Of Doom, Hall trashing the TV title)

The bad angles could be the Revolution angle with Shane Douglas as the voice for a stable. Shane Douglas vs Flair, Shane vs Kidman, everything Shane ever did in WCW.

Hall & Nash as tag team champions.

Rap is Crap & DJ Ran.

Nitro Girls wrestling.

Konnan & Lil Devil Rey Rey....this will never be seen as Rey Mysterio did not have the mask.

Stevie Ray the announcer.

Mike Awesome the 70's Guy and his chubby chaser angle, Brad Armstrong & Van Hammer as hippies.

Glacier.
