Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Woohoo! Go Patriots, here's hoping the Colts win as I think they would provide a better challenge *remembers the 1 yard stuff to win* That's why I'd rather have the Chiefs. ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Wow. What a game. I hope FrigidSoul feels like an idiot after watching McNair limp with both legs on the field and WILL his team back to near victory in those conditions. He ran OVER a NE linebacker for a first down. He throws a miraculous pass and catch to Bennett followed by another one. But, in the end, New England made less mistakes than Tennessee. And there was a little luck. But sometimes its better to be lucky than good. And NE has been lucky all season. So, they are probably destined to win it all. But WHAT A GAME. Bennett dropping an easy catch and McNair overthrowing him for a sure TD early in the game. But as I said, those are the brakes. And I must say the "Holding" call on Benji Olsen that essentially cost them the game was bull. But, again, the better team won in the end. And as bad as I feel right now I can't help but laugh as Salisbury just said the following: "Next year, if McNair and the line stays healthy, WATCH OUT for the Titans." THAT , Frigid Soul, you are right about.

Red Baron 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 that pass looked cleanly defended to me. this is definitly late but since I couldn't get on to these boards because of fatal memory occurance, i might as well post now. The ball was no where near catchable thus nulling the penelty. It didn't. The receiver went down anyways. A pass interferance call like that is ridiculous, and it should never been called. The DB played the protection very good, and it was nothing more than good pass defence by the Panthers, but if one bad call was made, might as well make it another (The catch was complete, but wasn't). The whole point is, is that the Rams lost (Hell Ya!!!) and the coach should be fired.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 At least Salisbury stuck with his pick, unlike some analysts who change every other week.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Wow. What a game. I hope FrigidSoul feels like an idiot after watching McNair limp with both legs on the field and WILL his team back to near victory in those conditions. Ya, way to go...stay on the field when all you need is a few yards to get into FG range, which Neil O'Donnel could have picked up and you can't because you can no longer avoid the pass rush! Also your uncanny ability to ignore the play clock wind down to zero and then throw a tantrum when they FINALLY called you for delay of game helped out as well. You gained 210 yards passing and most likely cost your team about 30-40 yards on penalties...YOU FUCKING GUTSY WARRIOR YOU! He ran OVER a NE linebacker for a first down Asante Samuel is not a linebacker, he's a rookie CB that is 5'10 and weighs 185lbs(that's who McNair bowled over). But to make you and Sean Salisbury feel better we can pretend it was a 6'3, 235lb LBer cause that McNair...HE'S A GLADIATOR! He throws a miraculous pass and catch to Bennett followed by another one. From what I saw he threw into triple and double coverage numerous times and Drew Bennett bailed his ass out twice. Where was McNair's miraculous passing when Mason was in the endzone wide open? But, in the end, New England made less mistakes than Tennessee. Now you're starting to get it And there was a little luck. But sometimes its better to be lucky than good. And NE has been lucky all season. So, they are probably destined to win it all. Or maybe you're not. A team doesn't win 13 straight games by luck alone. Patriots have the most depth in the NFL. Not to mention the streak started with you and now we've gone through you to continue it. And I must say the "Holding" call on Benji Olsen that essentially cost them the game was bull. Your O-Lineman wrapped up a defensive lineman and threw him to the ground, one armed or not he did it...and that's holding. What really blew the game was the intentional grounding and McHobble just throwing it out all of the last possesion. And as bad as I feel right now I can't help but laugh as Salisbury just said the following: "Next year, if McNair and the line stays healthy, WATCH OUT for the Titans." And Roosevelt Colvin will come off IR and promptly greet them by burning the O-Line and sacking McNair Have a nice off-season
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Titans end the game by acting like little bitches Brady fucking acted like a dick when he was taking a knee. He paused for 3 seconds and got plowed over for it. It was totally clean. If the Titans acted like dicks it was because the Pats precipitated it. I'm fine with the Pats winning the game. But what irks me is how unimpressive they look while doing so. They always scrap by the skin of their teeth. Never do they win anything decisively. Given a call or two the other way, this game would have been won by the Titans. If McNair was healthy, Eddie George healthy, then this wouldn't have been close. The Pats need to jumpstart their game big time, because as it stands now, the Panthers would steamroll them if one was to compare their playing performances today. If the Colts are able to jack their defense up, they have a good chance against the Pats. The Chiefs don't have a chance at all if they were to play the Pats. ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 ^ No, if McNair and George were healthy it wouldn't have been close. But I won't complain. New England is a great team. But Frigid Soul is REALLY pissing me off.

He paused for 3 seconds and got plowed over for it. It was totally clean. If the Titans acted like dicks it was because the Pats precipitated it. Pats couldn't run out the clock all the way by just taking a knee and they didn't want to give the Titans the ball back at all or place it in a situation where they could have taken the ball. So Brady stood there, took 3 seconds off the clock, kneeled, O-lineman started walking back to take their next stance and one of the Titans players forarmed Brady down. It was not a clean play and had their been significant time left a flag would have been thrown. Refs were just trying to calm everybody down and get them to run out the rest of the clock so they could get inside for some hot chocolate...which I believe I will make right now. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 11, 2004 The way both teams played tonight, neither team should go on and win next week. Are you talking about the Pats/Titans because I thought both teams played extremely crisp and the defenses stepped up when it mattered. Only thing is Tenn was hit with a million penalties. But Frigid Soul is REALLY pissing me off. Yea, thats what I meant. FrigidSoul, if Brady takes a few seconds to kneel, why can't someone knock him on his ass? isn't that part of football? If he doesn't go down himself, he'll get put on his ass. Its football. Just because its expected that he'll kneel and takes his time doesn't make him free of getting tackled. But again, its just your typicalpetty Red Sox-styled complaining. The Pats really need to address their problems from tonight because they should have beat them more badly...especially considering the climate, homefield crowd, and Titan injuries. They BARELY squeaked by...and looked pretty darned beatable in the process. Peyton, Harrison, and Edgerin will fucking tear them to shreds if they play like this again. And I'll say it again, Tom Brady is overated. While he doesn't throw many INT's, he never has a big game that makes the Pats offense look anywhere near fear-worthy. They just look....normal. Neither PLAYED crisp. The Rams and Panthers both played much better than the Pats and Titans. The Rams and Panthers was about how was going to win...Pats and Titans was about whoever could get a break....it was an ugly and scrappy affair.
ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 When two good teams battle in those elements, it won't be perfect. Besides, it was a well played game. And I hope the Pats DEMOLISH the Colts. Although it will probably be a close game.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Still with the bad weather and all, neither team really took the advantage, and some plays that should never happen did. No team really capitalized on the advantages that they got. The defence was pretty good, but both teams offence look medicore.
