Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 15, 2004 since McNair is so injury prone if they put him on the cover 1 of 2 things could happen A.) He actually doesn't get injured all year B.) A piano falls on him out of nowhere that being said they'll probably go with Jamal Lewis or Priest Holmes

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 17, 2004 Looks like Brendan Stokley's son might be dying of meningitis. Stokley was at practice today and said he will travel to NE with the team but he might be headed right back home. Here's hoping his kid pulls through and he makes the game. You want to beat their best and you don't want anybody's kid dying.
Chuck Woolery 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2004 Super Bowl Prediction: Panthers 24, Patriots 20. You heard it here first.
Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted January 17, 2004 So here is what I think. NE vs Ind I think who ever will win this one, will definately be the Super Bowl favorite. That said, New England has found the winning formula. Play strong stiff defense, Tom Brady dinks you to death, and use smoke and mirrors to will your self to 13 straight wins. I am suprised the Patriots have maintianed winning, with out a real running game, (Smith and Faulk don't really impose fear in a team, do they). But, Brady and Bellichek know how to win. As for the Colts, man this is this best offense alive still. The Colts offer a very balanced offensive attack. James is back to pre injury form. Harrison, Wayne, and Stockley make up very solid recieving corps. And the Colts defense is vastly improved with Dungy at the helm. Maybe the thing that Dungy was lacking was a great offense in Tampa, that he now has. And did I mention Manning? He is the hottest QB right now. It is like Manning is finally comming into his own as a Elite QB. So who wins. The Patriots are very tough at home. Their defense is stellar. Brady manages a very tough game to defend againstch. Brady brings vision to the table, and it sows. The Colts have been the most dominating out of all the teams in the playoffs. The Colts went into a hostile KC, and pulled out the V. I suspect this will be a close, lower scoring game, 24-21. Also, the the cold factor will not be a big issue as it could. Heck, even if it snows, it still will be warmer then New England can be. So that will not be a big a factor as it could. Most people are going with the Patriots, but I am not too sure. I mean how is this team winning with no real running game or punting game? It baffles me once again. Are they trully this good? It's like you expect a lost, and they keep winning. Are they finally going to be due for a lost? The Colts have many weapons on offense at their disposal. As this will be the toughest defense the Colts will face, this is definately the toughest offense the Patriots could face. This to me, has the greatest potential to kick ass. Definately the game to catch. And I have this feeling that the Colts pull off the victory in a very hard fought game. Like I said, the Colts defense is very good, the Patriots offense is not as good as the Colts. And so both teams I see shutting each other down. And that is where the having a running game, and passing game, and a QB with the hot hand will be the deciding factor to take Indy to the next level I know I probably will be wrong, but I think the Colts stun the Patriots and move on. As for the Eagles and Panthers, who'd a thunk it? The Panthers are the Cinderella team for sure. The Eagles are hoping the third time is a charm. So who wins? The Panthers love to run it, and run it some more. The control the clock. They have a very good defense that can shut a team down. And the WR are also very athletic and quick. Delhome, however not the most spectacular player, reminds me of Trent Dilfer on the Ravens. Protect the ball, and don't turn it over. And his stats were better than McNabb. The Eagles however, find ways to win. 4-26 ring a bell. McNabb after a very mediocre start, has played more like the McNabb we all know. The one that can will his team to Victory. He has that ability to take over a game, when nothing else is going smoothly. Phili is another harsh environment to go into and win. Can the Panthers win two one the road against two very hard places to play in. So most are thinking that this is the year Phili makes it to the Super Bowl. However, I am not too sold on them. Green Bay blew that game last week, so Phili is very fortunate to be still alive. This is the weakest Phili team out of the last three years. Carolina is the team that will not go away. So this will be a very close game. Phili does not want to fall behind like they did last week. Because Carolina's D is much tougher than Green Bay. Also with the lost of Westbrook, hurts as well, weakening the running game of the Eagles. I am thinking Carolina pulls the upset and continues the Cinderella run. Expect this game to be all about defense and run, run, run. Maybe we will see a pass here and there, but I see clock control being the flavor of the day. KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 (edited) I'm going to modify my final score predictions: NE 31 Indy 24 (Bold prediction: the Colts will punt) Carolina 24 Philly 21 (OT) Edited January 18, 2004 by Kingpk
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 18, 2004 Just to let you know how fucking cold it has been here they had to hold off painting the field till Sat. because the paint kept freezing inside of the tubes. Thankfully it we had a heatwave and it went from -41 with the windchill on Friday all the way up to 20degrees today.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 Manning wouldn't be on the cover of Madden, he's still tied with the NFL Fever franchise and Microsoft I believe. I predict Priest Holmes. That said, once again, Colts/Panthers in the Super Bowl, but I can't pick a winner between them.

Guest Flyboy Report post Posted January 18, 2004 Ray Lewis will probably be the next coverboy for Madden... and as for today's games? Indy is going to win... somehow. I couldn't care less about the NFC Championship.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 My picks: Indy 19 NE 17 Vin misses a 31 yard field goal as time expires and the Colts escape Foxboro. CAR: 21 Philly: 10 Course, I'll be wrong and I am a Pats fan so picking the Colts is hard. But too much talk about how automatic Adam is that I think he'll miss one with the game on the line. Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 18, 2004 I think the Eagles are gonna blow the Panthers out early. The Colts and Pats is going to be fairly close. We're going to see a Philly (as I've contended for over 2 months) vs. Indy Super Bowl.

Its a Sunday, people are home, who gives a shit about primetime? This bugs me, too. What makes it worse this year is that we get the Eagles/Panthers game in primetime! What the fuck? The Indy/NE game will be 10x more entertaining. Guess I should go on the record as well: Indy 14 NE 20 Carolina 13 Philly

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 The first quarter was the game New England wants. Slow, pound the ball and see if you can force Manning to make mistakes. Short little dump passes, little hard nosed draw plays and just eat the yards and clock. Dungy knows how to coach defense though so I doubt this keeps up.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 What the heck are they doing??? Don't play the Colts game! What happened to eating the clock and keeping the Colts off the damn field??? Adam nails from 32 and NE is up 10-0. Need to force another turnover and go BACK to the slow moving offense that was marching the field.
