Guest Skironox Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Spike TV has been shoving this guy down our throats for a month now and I'm still scratching my head as to why he is getting a god push. I sat down for about 10 minutes last night and watched it and I must say it was probably the worst 10 minutes of my life. The guy is moronic, unfunny, annoying as hell, and why does he have a stupid bleach spot on the side of his head? The show comes off as a bottom tier cross between the Daily show and the Man Show. And I don't mean John Stewart Daily show, or Adam and Jimmy Man show. I mean Craig Kilborne and Doug and that other guy. I give this show 5 thumbs down.
C Dubya 04 Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Haven't seen his new show yet. He used to be funny on Talk Soup though.
Youth N Asia Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Skunkboy was great on Talk Soup...I'm not digging the new show though
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 What exactly is this show about?...
Guest Krazy Karter Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I love the new show. If you haven't seen Talk Soup you can't bash it.
Guest Skironox Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 If you haven't seen Talk Soup you can't bash it. Why exactly am I not allowed to bash it? I don't like the humor, I don't like the format, I don't like the push it's getting. I just don't get it.
Guest Krazy Karter Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 If you haven't seen Talk Soup you can't bash it. Why exactly am I not allowed to bash it? I don't like the humor, I don't like the format, I don't like the push it's getting. I just don't get it. It's basically Talk Soup's humor applied to The Man Show's premise. Kind of like when Bill Maher had to go to HBO. Same basic idea as Politically Incorrect, but it can't mimick the previous show exactly for copyright reasons.
razazteca Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Doug Standhope might be better than John Henson right now.
The Amazing Rando Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 First of all... stop saying it's getting a "push" ... that's just annoying. Secondly... I have seen Henson's Talk Soup...and it was awesome... but the new show seems to be lacking incredibly. Henson is great in the small doses that Talk Soup provided... but once you get into a half hour of him it does get annoying (i say that and i *LIKE* the guy) Oh...and Craig Kilborne ruled on the Daily Show... he wasn't up to the calibre of Jon Stewart...but he was still better than a good chunk of ComCentral at that time. So basically... Talk Soup > JH Project ...by a loooooooooooooooong shot
Guest Skironox Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 (edited) First of all... stop saying it's getting a "push" ... that's just annoying. My bad, I have the habit of talking in wrestling terms for just about everything. Not just because I'm on a wrestling board, I've had that problem since I was 12. I couldn't even tolerate the guy in a "small" dose. Craig Kilborne was okay during his Daily show run, but his stuff went to all hell when he got his deal for the late night talk show. Youth N Asia Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Doug Standhope might be better than John Henson right now. While I think he can almost be funny at times...the new Man Show is so unwatchable
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I just have to say that if I see another one of the fucking commericals for this show I'm going to seriously hurt someone. During an mXc marathon they play it during the credits and on every commerical break. And it wouldn't be so bad if they had more than 4 commericals.
Mole Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Spike TV is the FIRST NETWORK FOR MEEEEN. Since John Henson is a man, he will appeal to the men demographic. Duh, it is simple marketing. I really don't get it either.
Mecha Mummy Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 He's a man, he's heterosexual, and he drinks alcohol. That's good enough for SpikeTV. mXc > Slamball > Gary the Rat > Stripperella > Ren and Stimpy Adult Party > JH Project
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 I must be one of few people who enjoys the show. The shoving down our throat commercials made me want to see what it was, and I enjoyed all but 3 minutes of it. But Final Fantasy X-2 will NEVER see the light of day in my house. Fucking commercials every commercial break on Spike TV.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Doug Standhope might be better than John Henson right now. While I think he can almost be funny at times...the new Man Show is so unwatchable It's still on? Most of the Man Show promos I see still feature Adam and Jimmy...
Guest Krazy Karter Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Most of the Man Show promos I see still feature Adam and Jimmy... They're showing older episodes in place of reruns from the previous season. I think it's dead.
jimmy no nose Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 I wanted to watch this John Henson show because I thought he was by far the best Talk Soup host and I liked that show. I saw a couple minutes during a commercial during the football game on Sunday where he was talking about how he used to host Talk Soup and then he went through all the success the other hosts had and how he sucks since then. That part looked good, I missed the rest of the show though. I'll try and catch the whole thing next time I see it on.
Anakin Flair Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 mXc > Slamball > Gary the Rat > Stripperella > Ren and Stimpy Adult Party > JH Project And only half of those shows are still on, and I'm betting the JH Project gets the axe.
Guest Deebo Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 I watched a little bit of it after RAW last night and I thought it sucked major ass. All his jokes seemed way too forced.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 mXc > Slamball > Gary the Rat > Stripperella > Ren and Stimpy Adult Party > JH Project And only half of those shows are still on, and I'm betting the JH Project gets the axe. I think they've invested way too much into it to give it the axe quickly. If the New Man Show has survived this long anything can.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 The New Man Show already shows re-runs over and over. I see Adam/Jimmy hosting episodes more on Comedy Central than new ones. Thank God. Whoever thought new hosts were a good idea needs to be given a swift kick in the BALLS!
Guest wrestlingbs Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Now don't bash FF X-2 just because Raw has so few sponsers it plays that commercial every 5 minutes. It's actually a great game. I really don't find John Henson funny. In small doses, maybe. They should have gotten Dennis Leary. That would have been interesting.
godthedog Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 henson was a riot on 'talk soup', but he hasn't found a way to be funny anywhere else. i don't really have any desire to see this show.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 I really liked John Henson on talk soup but his time is over; it's not 1998 anymore. He missed the boat after he left T.Soup for Broadway and now he's a nobody and this new show ain't gonna help matters cause its LAME.
SamoaRowe Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 All i know about this show is that the previews I saw featured jokes that were less witty than jokes I make with my friends when we are goofing around. The punchlines were predictable and overplayed. In other words, this show will become Spike TV's biggest hit and will be the next big craze in this nation.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 Quick Question: Is everyones hate for him from other shows (Talk Soup) or has anyone actually watched this show and given it a chance?
Guest netslob Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 The New Man Show already shows re-runs over and over. I see Adam/Jimmy hosting episodes more on Comedy Central than new ones. Thank God. Whoever thought new hosts were a good idea needs to be given a swift kick in the BALLS! that's what i don't get...why'd they need 2 new hosts? couldn't they have kept Adam and gotten 1 new guy, or just have Adam by himself...why bring in those 2 douches?
