Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 How the fuck does Ray Lewis make it on there over say, Rod Woodson and Deion Sanders? I mean, I love Ray and I think when he retires he will be considered one of the best of all time, but not yet.
Bored 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 Football is probably the hardest sport to try to compare players to over different eras. How would you compare a great offensive lineman in the 50s to a great wide receiver in the 90s? Yes and as already mentioned the list of players they have sucks. Steve Largent is on the list and Sammy Baugh isn't? Anyways I'll just answer this question: Is Elway better than Joe Montana? HELL NO!!!
Lando Griffin 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 They have Emmit Smith at 15, and I didn't even put him in my top 25.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 Oh this is lame -- you can't compare people of different positions. Typical ESPN B.S...
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 The more recent players will always be ranked higher, just because more people saw them play. I ranked Emmitt pretty low myself...23, I think.

I mean, I love Ray and I think when he retires he will be considered one of the best of all time, but not yet. I agree 100%. Like you say, Ray is a great linebacker, but I can't see myself ever putting him (in a list like this) over L.T.
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 Why wouldn't you rank Emmit Smith high? He does have the most running yards in NFL history. And where is my Steve Young?
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 30, 2004 What they should do is let you pick by individual position and by era... ESPN is lazy though, thus that will never happen
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 Why wouldn't you rank Emmit Smith high? He does have the most running yards in NFL history. And where is my Steve Young? Yeah, and they were probably the most nondescript running yards in NFL history, too. In twenty years, people will STILL be talking about Barry Sanders, Gale Sayers, O.J. and Jim Brown...no one will remember Emmitt Smith.
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 Huh? People won't remember Smith? That has to be one of the most ignorant comments I've heard all day.

Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2004 The links missing an 's'. Here we go thank you. I think L.T. was overrated. Still a great player. My problem with him was he was too one dimensional. He got alot of sacks, but had too many plays he didn't seem to make an effort on. For me Walter Payton ranks ahead of Jim Brown. Payton played on alot of bad teams, was a good receiver, and an outstanding blocker. Brown might of been the better runner, but Payton has him beat in overall back.
