Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 So you guys might've heard about how I had a test with Telus and hopefully get a new job right? This was like back in November for those with short term memory. Well, remember how I didn't get a job? Guess who just called! MWAHAHAHAHAHA~! Telus called and I've got an interview with them this Tuesday! Now, I know I shouldn't get my hopes up too high, because, well, it is just an interview. But Jocelyn (the lady who phoned me and I talked to about the position) basically gave me the whole run down of the job (which of course, I totally forgot because I'm so freaking psyched, wait, it's like Operating Services or something akin) and said that it would be occassional work (unless you asked for more, which of course I will) and said that it is $11.30/h (but if you take a special course for the medically disabled and hearing impaired it goes to $13.50/h) and she also said that I'd probably get booked 8am-4pm a lot if I wanted it. Of course, I know that I've still got an interview, but you don't tell a person all this stuff without telling them they hired, do you? But anyways, it'll be bye-bye McDonald's here soon! Before that I had a bitch of a time finding a job but I was loving life just sitting around and watching tv and movies all day. And at least it'll be a good job. Oh! And in 3 years (I think, have to talk to my dad about it) if I want to get a certain course, Telus will pay for the whole thing! All I have to do is bring my records from whatever school I go to and show that I've got passable grades, and I continue it. Reason for that, is because Telus believes that you can become a better employee because of it! ...heheh... Can't wait for Tuesday. New job, Crystal Cronicles, and I possibly know what is finally wrong with my knees (and all my medical problems to date)! What more could I ask for to go right for me lately!? Well, hopefully you'll get a call back here soon. I'm so freaking nervous for my new job. I think I got it, I mean, why else would I get a rundown of the job if I wasn't getting it you know? Still... Could lose it if I screw up the interview in some way. It's starts at 8:45am and should end around 10am is what Jocelyn told me. I'm quite sure that wouldn't just be for a interview right? I heard all kinds of things about how the economy was so much better in Southern California than in Illinois and how easy it would be to find a job. Well, I found out it's just as hard to find a job out here, and on top of that, I'll need to make approximately 437% more out here in order to be able to move out on my own. Fuck. I love the area, but due to those factors and the fact that I hate living with my stepdad since he's abusive and we don't get along means I may be going back to Illinois. It'll suck in a lot of ways, but if I can afford an apartment and have enough room and money to be able to work on my art and music, buy the occasional video game, and most importantly, have my friends over to get drunk and high every weekend, I can't really complain. I'm still in shock, especially considering how horrible I did at the second interview. Now I'm not one of these people that goes "Oh I did bad" over every little thing I do. It's just that I'm not afraid to admit when I've messed up, and man did I blow that second interview. Here's an example of how horrible I did: While I was in the middle of answering this one question asked to me by the organization's president I FORGOT WHAT THE ORIGINAL QUESTION WAS ABOUT and went on for about 20 seconds about NOTHING while I desperately tried to remember what the original question was. Man is the better half going to be bitching at me when she gets home from work -- she kept saying after my first interview that I had this job and I was so freaking miserable (I have been rejected for so many jobs in my past it's not even funny) because I didn't think I'd get an offer. It's 411, directory service, so that's decent, I suppose. Oh and I saw a theft in progress. That was kinda weird. On the one hand, it was like "Holy Shit! That guy's stealing something!", but antoher part of me is like "no fucking way, you can't be serious. He'd be an idiot to do it in front of me". But yah, it happened. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 Huh?... Ok, after my interview, the store I rented Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles from, Microplay, had four copies of the game stolen. I saw the culprit do a lot of funny stuff and something didn't feel right about it. So I checked the stack of FF:CC games that Jay (the guy who works there) had and low and behold there wasn't # of copies. Told Jay, he immediately ran after them (I didn't because he beat me to it and he had the phone, so he could call the cops to let them know), and that's what happened. I think I might have the cops from St. Albert phone me up to get a positive id check or something along that lines, since I got a better look at the customers than Jay had. *shrugs* That's about the jist of the story.
