Damn, Ted Washington leaving will hurt our 3-4 defense. However he was asking for far too much of a man his age.

Far too much money.

The Raiders need to build for the future, not the present. Moves like this boggle my mind.

Next up on the Raiders old-timer checklist....Troy Vincent.

Do the Raiders even have cap room or are they old and cap strapped?

They cut Romo and Trace yesterday. I wouldn't be shocked to see Gannon and Brown shipped out soon. Gannon traded and Brown released. Hopefully Rice and Rod Woodson will take a paycut to stick around.

If Oakland grabs Fitz or one of the other stud WRs, who is going to throw to them? Gannon is an old jerkoff, but at least he can throw. Tuiasusopo (sp?) didn't exactly look terribly impressive last year.

If the Raiders ditch Gannon, they should really draft a QB instead of Fitz.

Exactly my point...and exactly my intention in the mock draft.

I feel ya, man. If I was the Raiders, I would definitely take Manning, Roethisleberger (I hate spelling that name), or Rivers for sure. Porter should be in good shape for next year and he has the skills to be a Top 5 WR in the league.

Its pretty damn impossible to land a hot, young stud of a QB in the NFL. While some bomb, there have been others who have done exceptionally well. Allstars Wide Receivers are a bit easier to find. Porter is good when he is healthy. I think the Raiders this year really should've learned how important a QB is. Even if they keep Gannon, BenRo could always sit on the sidelines for a year and learn from a technically sound albeit fucking ornery QB is Gannon.

Man Gannon is a friggin fossil. I know Fitzgerald is great, but Gannon has 2 years left at best. They could keep Brown and Rice for one more year and we know Porter will be good.

As a Raider fan, this is what I'd like to see happen:

Drop Gannon, sign Garcia.

Draft Mike Williams... Garcia knows how to throw to the tall guys, and I think Williams has better hands then T.O.

If we end up keeping Gannon, then draft Manning or Fitz.

But knowing Davis, he doesn't want some rookie leading his offense, just look at his track record (Hostetler, George, Gannon, etc...) so expect either a WR or a trade down.

Garcia is getting old.

They should keep Gannon at a lower price - and have BenRo tutor under him. Hopefully, they can pick up a decent WR in the 2nd round. I've always contended that their defense wasn't nearly as bad as their offense. The defense would just get tired out because the offense was 3 and out.

With the no.2 pick in the 2nd round they should be able to get a very good WR as there are about 8-10 legit WR prospects.

Nice.

Thats why the should just pick BenRo. They won't be able to find a good QB in the second round like him.

If I were the Raiders I might consider trading down for Phillip Rivers, but that entails a bit of risk since he is starting to move up a lot of draft boards. But if you could get an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder it might be worth it.

Bengals sign Nate Webster. :)

Sporting News called him a big time sleeper. Young and talented MLB.

Good pickup for the Bengals. They have got a ton of guys coming in the next few days, it would be nice to get a talented CB as well as find someone who will take Corey Dillon off of our hands.

There's been a lot of talk here this morning that the Eagles are close to trading for TO. A second round pick is what they said it would take.

San Fran really wants to dump Owens as soon as possible apparantly. Baltimore is also in the running.

I saw that rumor floating around somewhere, I think it was the 2nd plus Billy McMullen. I would be thrilled with that deal as McMullen is never going to get a chance in Philly after getting in Reid's doghouse and it is a low 2nd rounder.

Posted

I actually think that McMullen has a chance to be an above average receiver. But I'd still make the deal. This window has been open for a long time for the Eagles, it can't stay open forever.

I like McMullen as well, but once he dropped that first pass thrown to him (that wasn't even a good pass) he was done in Philly. He falls under the Brian Finneran precident. If you are a rookie you don't get even one fuck up.
