JoeDirt Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Again showing some long term planning, the general feeling right now in WWE is that the main event for WrestleMania XXI will be a "dream match" between Brock Lesnar and Triple H. WWE avoided that match this year because they did not want to rush it. Credit: PWTorch.com
Jobber of the Week Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Yeah, sure. Like they really book that far ahead?
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Indeed, not rushing a match of this magnitude is a smart idea. Of course, I'd rather this match for WrestleMania XX, with Brock's matches switched, possibly - but long-term planning is great, as is getting Goldberg off the WWE payroll.
Jobber of the Week Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 "dream match" ?????? Both guys are booked pretty strongly is what they mean. But you guys also have to remember that dream matches aren't what they were. That's because the show, the matches, and booking all moves so fast anymore that two months of today's time is equivelant to about a year of the Hogan/Warrior days.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Of course it is. Both guys can draw tremendously, and have the monster heel gimmick working nicely for them, one maybe more than the other. I'd love to see it.
deancoles Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 They had a match at a house show once, i wonder how that went?
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 A lot of fucking retarded things happen at House Shows. It probably would have been a *** match.
Art Sandusky Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I think Brock/HHH is about the only "Dream Match" we'd have left by Wrestlemania XXI.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 As far as kayfabe goes, maybe. But as far as 'fuck kayfabe, let's see some straight-up wrestling', there are plenty more.
Guest Deebo Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 So the WWE just realized what they want to do with the main event of "The Biggest PPV ever" Wrestlemania XX, but have already figured out what's going to happen at NEXT YEARS WM? So smart.
NoCalMike Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 the sad part of this means that Triple H will be booked as GOD for another year. Not that it is suprising, but there was always that tiny chance........
deancoles Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 The sad part is one of the guys will probably turn face.
AndrewTS Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I think Brock/HHH is about the only "Dream Match" we'd have left by Wrestlemania XXI. As long as Hogan is gone, Austin and Bret can't wrestle, Goldberg is ready to go out the door...I guess. What about Rock/HBK?
Use Your Illusion Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I'd rather see Andrew's match than Brock/Helmsley
Michrome Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 What about creating new stars for more dream matches? Whoops, sorry.
Lil' Bitch Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Will The Game finally bury Brock Lesnar or will the Next Big Thing finally be put over by HHH? The question still burns...

Everyone is. Well, hopefully it won't be a title unifacation match.
Use Your Illusion Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Um, did you just whip that up then Dork? Or Dark, whatever. UYI
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Haha. It's good in it's cornyness. What would be sad about either Brock of Paul turning face? I mean, they have been great heels for the last year+ (well, of course Brock was a face for a fair while in there), but it's just like Chris Jericho. WNA disagree with his turn - but fuck, Jericho has been a heel for over two years, and been damn good at it. I think that it's time for a turn, and he can go straight back to being a heel with one interview. If I could see anyone turn, it'd be Triple H. As long as Brock's pussification doesn't continue to run it's course. Where's the logic is Brock being afraid of Hardcore Holly, no matter how crazy he is, but not The Undertaker?
The Ghost of bps21 Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 What kind of fucked up nightmare am I in where HHH vs. anyone is a dream match?
AndrewTS Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 "They had a match at a house show once, i wonder how that went?" "A lot of fucking retarded things happen at House Shows. It probably would have been a *** match." I don't know about the ***'s, but I remember that there was a Triple Threat in Austrailia--Melbourne I believe, with Brock kicking out of the Pedigree and pinning HHH. I think it was Rock/HHH/Brock, but I can't be certain. I haven't heard about a singles match between the two. "I'd rather see Andrew's match than Brock/Helmsley " Thanks, and since HBK is a heel of sorts now (I think), and both could play the ego game and say who would have beat who back when HBK was the champ, there could be a decent basis for a feud. Still, it seems unlikely that match would happen this Mania. However, I'd think Rock would be back by now if he was planning to be on this Mania. If I could see anyone turn, it'd be Triple H. HHH doesn't like being a face...and there's at least two points in the past where his reluctance to turn face was very costly. Supposedly a face turn is coming with the Evolution break-up, but I can't picture Orton as champ at all. Nor can I think of a strong enough champ to hold the belt on Raw instead of him, since Goldberg is going to be gone after Mania, and Taker's future is uncertain and would be tied to the Kane feud post-Mania. Edge? Too soon. What I could see is them both holding the belt around this time next year (maybe not the whole time, but pretty close to it, to make them both look uber-strong), and then one of them does a half-ass face turn to try to make the feud work. Unless...you know...WWE tries something like heel-heel, which I don't think they'd ever try. If one of them turns face, Brock would make more sense. Just ditch Paul and have him mess up some heels, and you're all set.

I think it was Rock/HHH/Brock, but I can't be certain. The Rock won by finishing HHH off with the Rock Bottom, but Brock got Pedigreed and HHH got the F-5 in the match.

Okay...well, I got the Rock/HHH/Brock part right, at least.
Guest Ghettoman Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Actually watching Brock's offense get the lazy sell was a nightmare I had a while back, not a dream. Hopefully Trips gives him one of those really special rubs like he gave to Jericho and RVD.
Guest unleashedfury Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Personally, I would forgive HHH for all of his backstage bullshit if he puts over Brock without getting his win back. I mean come on, the guy NEVER puts any one over unless he he beats the top face cleanly in the end. Heck, even Goldberg couldn't beat HHH in their final confrontation at Armageddon.
Guest Besus Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 How could HHH bury Lesnar when he has defeated the whole damn Smackdown roster?(Mostly) Brock Lesnar buried. That's like saying "Brock Lesnar is going to bury HHH" also.
Art Sandusky Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Rock/Michaels is 1) Appearing less likely by the day thanks to Rock's films, and 2) will probably have gone down by Wrestlemania XXI if it does, probably at SummerSlam since Rock will be done with his current film by then. And as for the "fuck kayfabe, let's see some straight-up wrestling," I think we've already been given all of those matches, and if not then a lot of them were done in late 2002-early 2003. Before you people start bringing up various indie guys who are supposedly wonderful, I'll say right now that I really don't care. By March 2005, I'll seriously be digging a HHH/Lesnar match, as it'd be the one main event pairing (between people who have main evented consistently) that we've never seen.
