Three purple hearts.. well.. that's not the only throbbing purple thing that John Kerry brags about

That might be the funniest line I've read in a long while.

I'm sure Vietnam tour duty wasn't the only thing he finished early...

Did he criticize his presence there after the fact?

Unfortunately for John Kerry.. the Vietnamese government makes it hard for any heiresses to exist.

The story I sent into Fark a few days ago was about people concerned with legalizing polygamy and the Massachusetts marriage dealie and I gave it the headline of "John Kerry will be able to marry three or four more heiresses if the Massachusetts legislature allows same-sex marriages"

Dear Democratic Party:

I am a registered Democrat. While I do not base my vote on just that, it is the party that I am affiliated with. As such, I was wondering if you could do me a favor:

Please stop fucking your interns.

Now, I don't really care if you cheat on your wife. I think it is a bad quality, and shows a lack of trust, but it is not an ultimate deal-breaker for me. However, I am increasingly concerned with the fact that your snuggle bunnies tend to be people who work under you, in more ways than one. It is leading me to believe that the best qualities of your choices to intern for you isn't a great mind but measurements.

I am also not happy with the power structure. While not as bad as Strom sleeping with the hired help, it's getting close to that ballpark.

If you're going to cheat, then do it with some pride. Yeah, JFK had an affair with an intern, but he also banged Marilyn Monroe. That's impressive. Now, if one of you guys had an affair with Nicole Kidman, I'd give you props. But not the local college graduate who's just trying to improve her resume.

Thanks for listening.

Sincerely,

MD2020

Im sure this whole thing will only make us even more of a laughingstock for the rest of the world...

Interns galore, drug policy, Johnboy Ashcroft, Al Gore's global warming speech on the coldest day ever, Bush's 'encunciation', Janetgate, 'Bring it on!'....

Dear Democratic Party...

Yo MD, come on over to the other side.

The only people we fuck are the poor, minorities and old people.

But at least it's not in the literal sense...

I probably have become more conservative as I get older (25), and my roomate is a Republican, but I'm still a Dem. Probably because I'm from Philly.

I never vote the label, but the man (or woman). We need more parties: Kook Repub., Moderate Repub., Moderate Dem., and Kook Dem.

Will Press Pounce on Drudge's Kerry Rumor?

By E&P Staff

Published: February 12, 2004 Updated at 1:30 PM EST

NEW YORK Matt Drudge's Web site, which first broke allegations about President Bill Clinton's dalliance with a White House intern in 1998, is at it again.

Late this morning, DrudgeReport.com alleged that a new scandal was about to rock the campaign of Democratic frontrunner John Kerry: some sort of purported recent marital "infidelity" that involved a woman who once worked for the Associated Press, and has now supposedly "fled the country." According to the site, this story was being investigated by the AP, The Washington Post, Time magazine and ABC network.

Reached by E&P for comment, AP spokesman Jack Stokes said, "We simply don't comment on stories we are pursuing or not pursuing."

Leonard Downie Jr., executive editor of The Washington Post, acknowledged that his staff had begun to dig deeper into the life and career of Kerry, but said he had not heard anything about an alleged infidelity. "What we're finding, I don't know," he said. "This is the first we are looking into him this way."

The Drudge site also declared that General Wesley Clark, in an off-the-record chat with reporters earlier this week, predicted that the Kerry campaign would soon implode due to an "intern." It would seem strange, however, if he really believed that, that he would drop out of the race, as he did yesterday.

The site added, however, that the Kerry rumor helped explain why Howard Dean did stay in the race and has been increasingly aggressive in his attacks on Kerry this week.

I'll reserve judgment until I find out whether or not the intern was/is hot. I need to know whether or not Kerry is a pimp or a lecherous monster unfit to be president.

As far as i'm concerned this is strictly a rumor. Even IF Kerry was boning an intern it has no reflection on his ability to be the president in November.

I'll take a war hero with a brain who likes to bang an intern or two over a brain dead, war mongering monkey.

Honestly, I fail to see how Kerry is any more 'intelligent' than Bush. I disagree with Bush's run as president very strongly, and he is truly comical for his enunciation, but obviously he is far from brain dead.

When has Drudge posted something that was wrong?

LOL.

Most of what he posts are just links to other websites anyway.

But this isn't.

I guess if it's from any campaign it would be Edwards. Edwards is publically running an "all-positive" campaign and I believe that Dean is a big enough idiot that he would shout out allegations like these on national TV.

It's kind of unfortunate to say that, since I'm an Edwards supporter, but his campaign would seem the most suspicious in the conspiracy game. Unless Al Sharpton or Dennis Kucinich are making a last-ditch attempt.

Dennis Kucinich's idea of character assassination is probably "John Kerry ate a hamburger once," so we can rule him out.

The race of the intern is not mentioned, so Al Sharpton is clean.

Howard Dean, like you said, would say it on live television.

I accuse John Edwards. And my parents.

God knows, international opinion is a HUGE deal for us. We lose sleep over the concern of the French/Italians/what have you not respecting us. It truly is the single most important issue in front of the U.S.

Because, God knows, doing something to seriously hurt somebody who is the MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE WORLD TO YOU isn't that big a deal. Heck, she's only his wife. She should probably be glad he isn't smacking her around for giving him any backtalk.

When has Drudge posted something that was wrong?

LOL.

No offense, but do you want to compare HIS accuracy in reporting against, say, the NY Times? Drudge never invented stories out of nothing.

But this isn't.

This is a report of several sources researching this. And Clark was the one who first mentioned this.

KERRY HIT BY SEX CLAIMS

The Democrat most likely to challenge George Bush for the presidency of the United States is at the centre of an alleged sex scandal.

The website which broke the news of Bill Clinton's infidelity says married Senator John Kerry had a two-year affair with a young woman, beginning in spring 2001.

The Drudge Report, which attracts millions of readers, says the woman has recently fled the US to Africa at the prompting of Mr Kerry.

It also reports that his former rival for the Democratic nomination, General Wesley Clark, told reporters in an off-the-record conversation last week: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue."

Internet columnist Matt Drudge said three reporters could confirm the comments by former Nato Supreme Allied Commander Clark, who quit the race for the party's nomination amid poor results.

Wealthy heiress

Mr Clark has since refused to confirm his comments and has endorsed Mr Kerry's nomination.

The report also claims that Time magazine, ABC News, The Washington Post and Associated Press - where the woman in question is said to have once worked - had been investigating her relationship with Kerry for several days.

The allegations first emerged late last year when a close friend of the woman spoke to reporters, according to the report.

Decorated Vietnam veteran Mr Kerry is married to Theresa Heinz Kerry, the wealthy heiress to the food empire.

Runaway favourite

Originally from Massachusetts, he is currently the runaway favourite to win the Democratic ticket to run against President Bush in November.

He has won 12 of the 14 state primaries and caucuses held so far.

The senator is expected to defend himself against the claims on US TV later today, but has made no comment yet.

Anything from Jayson Blair?

Got you beaten thus far.

Nope.
