The Widows Peak....

Am I the only one upset that a women uses this?

I've just been realizing how mechanically, it's a great finisher. You have the delay set up that signals for something, you have the unique set up that makes fans wonder, and you have the quick deadly looking impact that gets all the 'ooooh's you'd want it too. It can be reversed into some good spots, maybe a kick off the ropes into a DDT for a good late nearfall, an quick role up to end a match.

It's just an awesome finisher, and it's actually getting Victoria over. Can you imagine if this was given to someone who's young but has something plain for a finisher? We all like finishers, they help us get into people, hell half the reason I thought Triple H ruled in 99-00 was the pedigree which just looked so much better than some other finishers.

I'm glad Victoria has it because she's alright, it works for her and god damn is she ever hot, but I think it could of been a lot more important to someone like Batista or London or Jindrak or someone who could use it.

Anyone else feel the same?

Sexist! :P

Really, that move must be hard to pull off. You would need someone strong to pull that finisher off on guys over 230 pounds. Actually, someone strong and safe. I'd be scared shitless if I was told Batista was going to do that to me.

I have no issues with it ... Victoria is one of the few wrestlers that I like (of either gender) so her having a pretty swank finisher is a-ok in my book. Especially compared to the other options that you referenced (no offense meant to London-fans on this board, he's just not one of my favorites)

I love the Widow's Peak. The first time I saw Victoria use it on Trish was awesome. All the fight went out of Trish in an instant.

If they had a commentary team that, well, commentated on women's wrestling matches properly, I honestly believe they could get the Widow's Peak over as one of the dominant finishers in WWE.

Havok's right ... well not about the sexist thing. About the 'who could do this move thing'. Basically you're dealing with someone who is only going to be facing others of a similar weight and height and will be able to move thier bodies around efficently. So, if you've got a cruiserweight division where cruiserweights only face other cruiserweights, the Widow's Peak would be great for them. But because there is no much crossover, you would be hurting the cruisers whenever they faced a bigger guy. The goal for most male WWE finishers is that the move can be hit on anyone which is why you have so many splashes and submissions as finishes. Vicky doesn't have that concern and so can easily have the Gory neckbreaker as a finish.

Well thats why I named a cruiser and two hosses, I figure every hoss has that one move that they don't really use on big guys, but could, but looks awesome when someone smaller is taking it.

And London would work because he looks like he'd make a good cruiser heel, and it'd be a good move for a cruiser heel.

Where did the Pedigree come from? Did Triple H "invent" it? Was it an old move that was forgotten about or did he lift it from Japan or Mexico?

Botchtista would eventually seriously hurt someone with that move.

Let Vicky keep it. I know she didn't invent it, but she introduced it to the WWE scene.

There are other moves that big men could use. Marc Mero's TKO for instance, could be used by many people, but I think management forgets that such moves even exist.

I wouldn't want to see Batista doing it, no, but surely someone could (Cena's new FU?). Leave the Widow's Peak to Vicky since it works so well for her and dig up something no one's used for a while.

First person I ever saw use that move was a guy named Billy McNeil in St. Louis-based Gateway Championship Wrestling, at a show in April of 2001. Don't know exactly how the move ended up with Victoria, but it's kinda cool to see it being used on national TV. :)

Trips claims he invented it. I honestly haven't seen the move at all in any import wrestling games prior to Trips getting big, so maybe he did invent it.

Also, yeah--it works great for Vicky as long as WWE doesn't bring in a female around Monster Ripper's size or weight. The females being fairly similar in size and weight keeps it as a move that could be used on anyone.

I still wince everytime I see it, since it still looks sick to me.

Its a great move. I think its one of the best finishers of women wrestlers in the WWE. I think, though, that Molly Go Round is executed Perfectly!

I never said I was mad she has it, just thought it was a good finisher and could do a couple guys a lot of good.

And I'm never mad seeing that ass and that move in one segment.

Would you seriously want to see Batista doing that move regularly? The man can't seem to grasp the powerbomb.

I wouldn't let that man put an armbar on me

His style is what happens when you combine Mark Henry's strength with Jerry Saggs' in-ring abilities. Mr. Strong and Sloppy/Stiff

He has a style?

He is easily the scariest guy on the active Raw roster.

And triple-team powerbomb MY ASS, Flair and Orton were clearly acting as spotters on Raw when he was doing the BotchtistaBomb on Foley.

Chavo used a move similar in set up to this at No Way Out, but Rey flew backwards and went face first on the mat. Insane Bump Machine said afterwards it was a Gory Guerrero Special but I had never seen the move, much less known what it was called. I thought it looked a lot cooler than the Widows Peak/Vertebreaker.

I think the GGS is that move w/o Chavo releasing the guy.

The move you describe (which he did in Rey's debut match) was called by Ta as a Gory Guerrero Special Bomb or something like that.

AngleSault, look at the two people I mentioned...then you'll understand the style I said.

"Wow, you're quite a sexist fellow. Wouldn't want a woman to have a good, impressive move...nope, gotta give it to a man so maybe they can botch it."

Yes because that's clearly what I've said.
