TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!

Worrell for Biddle isn't bad. I thought you had traded Ponson for Biddle, and then turned Biddle and traded him for Tim Worrell.

Neither is Winn for Guillen. With Winn you know what to expect. Guillen is more of a mystery at this point.

Wrong league. I had traded Ponson for Biddle, in roto.

I know I didn't get any flack for the Guillen deal, but I thought I should mention it anyways.

hey that was no bashing. I thought you traded Biddle, not traded for him.

seriously though, take this as a warning, Biddle pitched for my Sox for years, and I think he's going to lose the closer spot sooner than later.

personally, I think Guillen is a turd, but that's a whole other issue.

hey does anybody want to trade with me? Too bad! My team is perfect! Muhaha!

Ah... No, I traded for Biddle. My bad. Made it out the other way I guess. Sorry about that.

What if I was to trade you Halladay? What would you say then?

I'm probably going to wait and see how my team performs when the season starts before i make any moves. Besides i don't really want to give up any pitching which leaves Soriano as my only big piece of trade bait, and if i got rid of him my offence would be pretty darn poor.

Is everyone content with their teams and that's why I practically see nothing happening? Because it is starting to get quite sad that nothing is happening.

My M.O. is to go with players who underperformed the previous year and thus its unlikely I'll get fair value if I make trades before the season.

plus if I didn't like my guys I wouldn't have picked them in the first place :P

Exactly. At this point all anyone can do is make a trade just for the sake of making a trade which is lame. Jeez the season still doesn't start for another 18 days and that's only for the two games in Japan.

*shrugs* I like making trades that I think will improve my team.

Yes, you don't know for sure till the season starts, but if I think I can improve my team, I will do so before the season starts.

Alright people... Just to at least get some action going on in this thread, I've decided that you guys should predict who's winning against who in week one!

My Predictions:

Winning Team's Wins:Losing Team's Wins:Ties

Crimson Storm over Night Rangers - 13:7:1

~ I look at my own team and then at Night Rangers and I see one thing that is better... My pitching staff. While I'm confident that my batters are just as good, I've got a feeling that it'll be my pitching that gets me a lot of wins.

Pawtucket Red Sox over Fear The CHECKLIST~! 11:8:2

~ Two heavyweights of our league (just because I didn't say you were #1, doesn't mean you don't have weight) battle it up in week one, and I'm quite certain that this will be a back and forth match. However, I think that Pawtucket Red Sox's pitching has a bit of an edge and think he'll take it. However, I won't be surprised in the slightest if Fear The CHECKLIST~! wins.

1000% Guapos over Wart Wackos - 13:5:3

~ This one is 1000% Guapos due to a very high powered offense (with 5 guys over 100RBIs, 4 over 100Rs, and an average OBPs of .345) it is pretty much going to be theirs to lose. As long as the pitching is there, I think they'll win this one.

The Worst Team over Small Red Machine - 12:6:3

~ The Worst Team doesn't really live up to its name, here as they'll get the win over the Small Red Machine, via batting.

EL KABONG~! Slapnuts over Gotham Harlequinns - 10:8:3

~This will definitely be another match up to watch as this one will be a hotly contested battle.

Brockvegas Posse over Chicago White Sux - 16:4:1

~ I predict a hell of a landslide victory for Brockvegas Posse, because of the fact that Chicago White Sux has only two starting pitchers and is relying heavily on relief pitchers. While this is a sound strategy in theory, there's also the fact that two of this five relief pitchers (Brendon Donnelly and Chad Bradford) are injuried and won't be ready in time for opening week.

Fear The Slayers over Rebels Of Oakland - 14:5:2

~ I don't think this one will be close as Fear The Slayers has a more statistically proven team than Rebels Of Oakland. While I do expect his pitching staff to improve, I don't think it'll be enough for Rebels Of Oakland to stop Fear The Slayers from winning this match up.

Serenity over NuclearSledgehammers - 13:6:2

~ NuclearSledgehammers has a weaker team in the batting department and against Serenity's pitching staff, I don't think it is going to be much of a match up. I think Serenity will probably just walk away with a lot of wins.

Rankings Following My Week 1 Predictons:

01) Brockvegas Posse - 16:4:1 - .774

02) Fear The Slayers - 14:5:2 - .690

03) 1000% Guapos- 13:5:3 - .655

04) Serenity - 13:6:2 - .643

05) Crimson Storm - 13:7:1 - .631

06) The Worst Team- 12:6:3 - .607

07) Pawtucket Red Sox - 11:8:2 - .548

08) EL KABONG~! Slapnuts - 10:8:3 - .512

09) Gotham Harlequinns - 8:10:3 - .417

10) Fear The CHECKLIST~! - 8:11:2 - .405

11) Night Rangers - 7:13:1 - .345

12) Small Red Machine - 6:12:3 - .321

13) NuclearSledgehammers - 6:13:2 - .310

14) Wart Wackos - 5:13:3 - .274

15) Rebels Of Oakland - 5:14:2 - .262

16) Chicago White Sux - 4:16:1 - .202

Please note that for the precentages, I concluded that ties = .25 of a whole. Also, this is all just for funs sake. Because you never really know what'll happen until the season starts.

Just have some fun with this prediction stuff. Don't take it seriously, m'kay? Yes, make some sound judgements, but don't get all huffy if you're team gets ranked dead last by someone else, m'kay?

Gotham Harlequins vs EL KABONG~! Slapnuts - This is a very evenly matched contest although the real question mark for the Slapnuts will be the relievers. The pitching staff looks pretty even although Glavine and Redman could prove to be question marks for both squads. 11-8-3(Harlequins for the slightly better pitching staff)

Crimson Storm vs Night Rangers - Lineup is clearly in the Night Rangers' favor although the pitching leans towards Crimson who also has a better bench in terms of pitching. Neither team has a good set of relievers IMO which shouldn't hurt either that much. 12-11-1(Night Rangers for the offense and the still capable staff) *This could turn into the game of the week*

Pawtucket Red Sox vs FEAR THE CHECKLIST~! - Both teams have very solid offenses although Checklist loses Sheffield who hurts quite a bit as Jason Bay will likely take his place and Charles Johnson will likely end up with some playing time. Advantage here still goes to Checklist for the power mixed in with the runs and average. Both rotations are also solid and are pretty much dead even. 14-6-4(Checklist simply for the offense being better then the Pawsox although the rotation is still just as good)

1000% Guapos vs Wart's Whackos - Guapos have the slightly better offense however Wart does have the power advantage although there are a few questions concerning Munson, Payton and Hidalgo. Neither rotation is really fantastic although Guapos has the slight advantage with Willis, Hampton and Smoltz. If Urbina can get signed, then the advantage swings to Wart. 13-10-1(Wart's Whackos for the power potential mixed in with average as well as a capable staff even if Urbina doesn't get signed)

Small Red Machine vs The Worst Team - Worst Team clearly has the better offense in this one. Red Machine has the slight power however Worst Team can make up for it with his bench. Worst Team has the advantage in pitching thanks to Wood, Mulder and Harden who are all capable starters. Isringhausen and Wagner are also very solid relievers. Graves could prove to be a question mark for the Red Machine. 15-6-3(Worst Team in a pretty easy victory)

Chicago White Sux vs Brockvegas Posse - White Sux has the better offense although Posse could surprise however their bench is severely lacking and Speizio is a bad hitter. The rotation looks pretty even although a slight advantage would be given to the Posse for the depth and the fact that they have 3 starters vs White Sux's 2. 13-7-4(White Sux solely for their great offense)

Fear the Slayers vs Rebels of Oakland - Both offenses look to be solid though I would give the slight nod to Rebels here. Rebels have a very underrated rotation IMO and could prove to be great. 14-5-5(Rebels takes this one pretty easily)

NuclearSledgehammers vs Serenity - I like Nuclear's offense quite a bit although Serenity's could surprise in this offense but the big Q's are around Brian Roberts, Kaz Matsui and Phelps. Both rotations look good although I'd give the slight advantage to Nuclear for his relievers. 11-10-3(Nuclear for the offense and the solid pitching)

#1: The Worst Team: 15/23 = 65%

#2T: Rebels of Oakland: 14/23 = 61%

#2T: FEAR THE CHECKLIST~!: 14/23 = 61%

#4T: Wart's Whackos: 13/23 = 57%

#4T: Chicago White Sux: 13/23 = 57%

#6: Crimson Storm: 12/23 = 52%

#7T: Gotham Harlequins: 11/23 = 49%

#7T: Night Rangers: 11/23 = 49%

#7T: Nuclear Sledgehammers: 11/23 = 49%

#10T: 1000% Guapos: 10/23 = 43%

#10T: Serenity: 10/23 = 43%

#12: EL KABONG~! Slapnuts: 8/23 = 35%

#13: Brockvegas Posse: 7/23 = 31%

#14T: Pawtucket Red Sox: 6/23 = 26%

#14T: Small Red Machine: 6/23 = 26%

#16: Fear the Slayers: 5/23 = 22%

Barry Bonds is having steroids withdrawl and Piazza is an injury risk so I have nothing to worry about the power advantage. For me it looks like Jim Thome might not play the 1st week due to his broken finger which leaves me with Sean Casey at 1st Base

Gary Sheffield might not miss any time. If he does, I can put him on the DL and find a waiver wire hitter.

I think my sanity couldn't take predicting results in H2H leagues.

Why?

Just because everyone will be horribly wrong doesn't mean you can't have fun with it.

Don't cheat Flik ;)

Cheat? I wouldn't do such a thing.

Besides. I'll just whoop you good when it counts for week one.

Just proposed a trade to you Flik

Nixon's still bothered by his back, and frankly, I don't trust him being around for a whole season. From the sounds of it, somewhere along this season, he'll probably getting another procedure done.

If and a big if, he shows signs of life, I'll reconsider this trade. As for right now, I'll be keeping Winn.

Trade made:

To Fear The Slayers - Johnny Damon (CF) and Adam Eaton (SP)

To Fear The CHECKLIST~! - Kevin Millar (1B,LF,DH) and Bernie Williams (CF)

Edit:

Counter offer made to HarleyQuinn.
