HarleyQuinn Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Looking at my team now, my team could be a potential sleeper candidate. Lineup's solid enough with players like Floyd, Burrell(Who should have a great rebound season), Lo Duca, Rolen and Kent. My rotation's the real question mark though. All my starters had at least 9 wins last season(9, 12, 14, 18) and Kolb should blossom this year if he maintains last year's performance though I'm not expecting another sub 2 ERA. My staff isn't big in terms of K's which might hinder them and the ERA's a little high for my liking but I'm hoping that I can get Williams and Miller both down to the 3.70 ERA area at least and that Zach Day can come in and improve on his 4.18 ERA for the Expos. Cory Lidle's a huge ? as he had a 5.75 ERA last year and pitching in Cincy likely won't help matters although he had ERA's of 3.89 and 3.59 in the 2 years prior to last year.
treble Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 I'm open to offers about starting pitchers, too. Someone make me an offer, please.
razazteca Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Triplecrown Beatalls is willing to trade pitchers for some power hitters, Outfield or 2nd Basemen.
Bored Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Yes I saw your Jose Mesa for Chipper Jones offer. Who do you think I am? Flik?
razazteca Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 It was just an opening offer.............you were suppose to send a counter offer
Lightning Flik Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Yes I saw your Jose Mesa for Chipper Jones offer. Who do you think I am? Flik? Fuck you. Â When my team kicks your ass, you'll be sorry.
Bored Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Considering I had to autodraft and we ain't playing for money, beat me for all I care. Â Hey at least you didn't go for my Rafael Palmeiro for Aubrey Huff trade offer in the A.L. league.
Lightning Flik Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Hey at least you didn't go for my Rafael Palmeiro for Aubrey Huff trade offer in the A.L. league. When I saw that I was because it didn't make much sense (to my tiny knowledge of baseball stats). So that's why I voided it.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 13, 2004 Author Report Posted March 13, 2004 In my A.L. league, I dumped Lance Carter and Dewon Brazleton, and picked up Fernando Rodney and Willie Harris. Harris could get the 2B job at Chicago, and Rodney is the front-runner to get the Tigers' closing job. Â If anyone needs steals, I'm looking to deal Alex Sanchez for some power.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 I know Willie sucks, but if he loses his job to Juan Uribe, I mean come on man.
MrRant Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 *Completely forgot about it being this Thursday... CRIES* Â It's like the same team I have in the Mixed League.
Lightning Flik Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 *Completely forgot about it being this Thursday... CRIES*Â It's like the same team I have in the Mixed League. Your kidding right? You can't have the EXACT same team. Â ...cause that can be awfully funny, or awfully sad depending on the team.
MrRant Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 It's almost the same. I somehow managed to get Raul Ibanez.... AGAIN.
Lightning Flik Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Out of all the Divisons, here's how I rank my teams: Â 1) Head To Head 2) Mixed League 3) AL 4) NL Â My Head To Head league team is probably my strongest of the four teams. It's funny, because I had dead last pick for that. Â While my best drafting pick had my worst team. The NL. Funny how that works. And the NL League will be a downright bitch. I swear to God.
the pinjockey Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Teams obviously ranked in relation to the league, not each other.  1. Mixed League - Love my lineup with a pitching staff that has a very high ceiling  2. AL - Again I like my lineup a lot and a staff ace in Vazquez  3. Head to head - Couple questions in the lineup in Roberts, Burrell and Phelps, high ceiling pitching staff again  4. NL - Worst pitching staff of my four, like the lineup, high potential, but also a lot of questions. Johnson, Wilson, and Bay haven't shown anything through a whole year yet.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 13, 2004 Author Report Posted March 13, 2004 When looking at these teams, keep in mind the level of competition. A team of exactly the same players will fare better in the one league only leagues than it will in a mixed league.
razazteca Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 AL has Pedro, Redman, ICHIRO, Tejada to carry the team. Â NL will depend on Bagwell and Wood to carry the team. Â Mixed being the best team of the 4 with Kerry Wood, Roger Clemson, Livan Hernandez, Kevin Brown striking out everyone. Javy Lopez and Sammy Sosa both will be hitting 40 HRs and Todd Helton keeping the OBP up. Â H2H is all power: Nomar, Thome, Wilson. Fear the middle relief pitchers Worrell and Beck.

Bored Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Everyone's mixed league team should be their best since it only has 11 teams and we drafted from both leagues. Overall I should do well in three out of the four leagues. In the A.L. league my team is pure shit since I forgot about the draft.
HarleyQuinn Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Flik's League: My strongest easily as my lineup's very solid up and down as is my rotation. Â Dr. Tom's league: Very good lineup all around and probably my best rotation in any of the leagues. Â NL: Decent rotation to go along with a good, if not questionable lineup. Â AL: My lineup's pretty decent as is my rotation though some guys worry me(Washburn and Ainsworth)

Overall I should do well in three out of the four leagues. In the A.L. league my team is pure shit since I forgot about the draft. You think you're shit in the AL? Check out my team. I didn't even get around to preranking due to me not thinking it was until next week (when my work one is).
Vern Gagne Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 I'm serious trouble in the NL only. Â Flik's league could easily be hit or miss. Â AL isn't too bad. Â I should do well in Tom's league.
MrRant Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Tom's is the only one I managed to make (Damn work) so I'm confident in that one.
Lightning Flik Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Well, I also take into the account that my league is head to head. Â Which means if you've got a strong team, most likely you'll rock up a lot of people.
HarleyQuinn Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Just acquired Bill Hall(Milwaukee, 2B/SS) off waivers. He's having a superb spring hitting wise and is making a charge towards possibly starting for the club if he keeps up his hot streak.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 27, 2004 Author Report Posted March 27, 2004 Important Note For the AL-Only League  Ugueth Urbina hit the game today, as he signed with the Tigers. However, the game placed him in as a free agent, allowing the first person to get to the computer to sign him. Of course, I did. This hardly seems fair however. I'm going to run this the same way waivers would work. If you are interested in picking up Urbina, state a claim for him by midnight Monday. The person who has the best waiver priority will get Urbina.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 for the record, I think we should do this for all traded players, because I thought they went on waivers in the first place. Â Anyway, I'll claim, though I think my waiver spot is like dead last.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 27, 2004 Author Report Posted March 27, 2004 Traded players go through waivers. The problem arises that Urbina was a free agent, and thus doesn't fall under those rules. I would've thought that Yahoo would've listed Urbina on waivers, but apparently not.
