Dream feuds that never happened

Recommended Posts

What's a dream feud that COULD have happened in WWF or WCW or wherever, but never did for whatever reason?

I'm kind of surprised that Flair vs. Warrior never happened in the WWF in 1992, but I guess Flair was busy trying to get the title off Flair, and Warrior had to leave soon after. Sure, Warrior sucked, but the mark in me would have loved that feud. :)

Or how about Hogan and Bret Hart? Never got to see that anywhere.

Got any of your own?

I would have loved to see Flair and DiBiase feud.....they seemed like the same exact person...maybe Vince stole the gimmick from Flair and gave it to DiBiase...

I'm pretty sure they had a match or two. Whether it was taped or not, I dunno

They did have a "match" on Nitro one time. ;)

Anyway, I would have loved to seen Flair / Zbysko or Austin / Hogan.

I would have liked to see a Tajiri/RVD feud in ECW. It wouldn't be half as good under wwe-style rules, so scratch it now.

Super Crazy/Eddie Guerrero - their match in ROH left me wanting a whole hell of a lot more.

Raven/Taz - I know it would have been awkward because their characters might not have meshed well, but they were probably the two biggest heels in the history of ECW(Shane a close 3rd)

Raven/Sabu - This would have been pretty good in an ECW setting.

RVD/Jericho = full fledged feud in WWE, not a match here and then 2 months later another match. I want to see it continue.

Benoit/HBK - except 8 years ago

I know they met at least twice in the ring but a full fledged feud (in WWF) between Macho Man Randy Savage and Bret Hart could be awesome.

1992 seems like a good year. After WM8 they held the singles titles and were faces. Along the way Savage starts to go back to the madness of 86-87, turns heel, costs Hart the IC title at SummerSlam. They could be captains of opposing teams at Survivor Series with Hart winning (but obviously not getting the title). Eventually we get Savage vs. Bret one-on-one headlining WrestleMania IX.

I'm sure Savage vs Cactus Jack would've delivered in the early 90's, too.

A heel Jimmy Snuka vs Ricky Steamboat in the mid 80's.

And finally the lack of Anderson/Blanchard vs British Bulldogs is a crime against tag team wrestling.

Add Rock n Roll Express Vs. Hart Foundation and British Bulldogs Vs. Midnight Express to tag feuds we never got to see.

It would have been cool to see the Rock n Roll Express against Demoltion.

Good lord. They would have been Bumpin like Mexican Jumping Beans. That would have been a good match.

I sold my copy of one of their few matches. It was nothing special. Flair was good, not God.

I was SHOCKED that they never had a match as they were both in the WWF for several months in 1988.

I still cannot believe Hart didn't walk into a Hulk Hogan feud the second he signed with World Championship Wrestling. They could of cracked 2.00 PPV buyrate-wise EASY.

Sigh.

Problem:

Hogan was in the feud with Sting at the time.

I remember as a kid always wanting to see Sting(early to mid 90's) vs. Bret Hart (early to mid 90's). That in a full fledged feud would be awesome.

If Bret had been treated properly in WCW, then WWF would be no more and that's not an assumption...it's a fact. They WOULD of driven the WWF out of business because Hogan/Hart would of done crazy money, PLUS they still had Sting/Hogan. And the nWo was still hot and this would of made it even hotter.

But it didn't so boo.

Edit: UYI isn't exaggerating either. All the WCW fans would by that PPV, plus all Bret's loyal fans (WWF fans or not) would of too. And I'm sure some of the general fans would find it intresting asl well. Would you rather see Bret Hart's debut in WCW in a match with Hulk Hogan, or a throwaway match with Brian Adams on Nitro?

Exactly.

Bret vs Sting could have pulled a good buyrate as well.Didn't Souled Out 98 do good numbers even though Hogan,Sting and DDP weren't wrestling? That had to be because of Bret/Flair.

If I recall, Flair suffered an inner ear injury during one of his matches with Warrior. It was this same injury that was responsible for his somewhat below average performance in the Hart/Flair match (the one where Bret won the title). I don't think Flair thinks too highly of Warrior. Flair did call him "the most limited wrestler of the era" in one of WWE's publications (the one where all of Flair's title reigns were discussed).
