Si82 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Saturday: Along Came Polly (6/10) Resident Evil (7/10) Sunday: Welcome To Collinwood (8/10) And probably Confidential later today...
starvenger Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I watched "How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days" with the fiancee. Call it 7.5/10 on the RomCom scale. It wasn't too bad, mostly because it showed some of the stuff that women do that drive us nuts. A good date rental if it's her turn to pick a movie...
Insane Bump Machine Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Love Actually - it has some very good scenes in it, and handling 8 different storylines at once is an interesting concept. But it's too bad that some of the more interesting characters barely get time to develop, and the closing half hour is just WAY too cheesy. I know that it's a christmas feel-good movie, but it's just too much in this case. It also had the task of living up to Richard Curtis' previous movies Bridget Jones and Four Weddings and a Funeral, and it failed. Looks like he's a better writer than director 6/10
The Amazing Rando Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Last Night - NORTHFORK (9.5/10) This movie went above my expectations for it and I will probably purchase it at some point down the line. Just a simply amazing movie. GO. SEE. NOW.
Guest thebigjig Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Finally got around to watching Bowling for Columbine... GREAT movie, although at times I got a little annoyed at just how liberal it was (and this is coming from a moderate liberal) but overall, very very good - 9/10
Youth N Asia Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Didn't like Bowling For Columbine... The Jackal (6/10), worth watching, but a slow first hour probably means I won't see it again.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Confessions of a Dangerous Mind: 7.5/10
Guest thebigjig Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Confessions of a Dangerous Mind: 7.5/10 watched that again the other day... one of my favorites, definitely, in my opinion, 9.5/10
Red Baron Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Didn't like Bowling For Columbine... The Jackal (6/10), worth watching, but a slow first hour probably means I won't see it again. I thought it went pretty fast the first hour, then died. Anyways Ace Ventura: Pet Detective 8/10

I thought it went pretty fast the first hour, then died. Anyways Ace Ventura: Pet Detective 8/10 It had slow moments, but the ending with Heston was definitely worth the price of rental

HarleyQuinn Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 Last Night: After Alice w/Kiefer Sutherland 8.3/10 Jack Frost 2 0.4/10 in terms of seriousness, 10/10 in terms of campy 'car wreck' type movie
godthedog Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 so far... last half of 'a woman under the influence'. 30-40 minutes of very good stuff, but oh my god do the other 2 hours ever suck. first half of 'general idi amin dada'. so far, interesting but not very engaging. will probably finish it later tonight. 'the fog of war'. damn good movie, but i wouldn't expect anything less from errol morris with such a rich and interesting subject. HIGHLY recommend it.
